Dear Scouts and Scouters: Are you ready to take advantage of a great camping experience? It s happening this spring at Camp Hansen on April 14 th & 15th. This year, Coronado Area Council, BSA will again get together to put on a spring weekend program. All districts are invited. Activities will be den/patrol oriented to help reinforce team building skills and to have fun. A list of activities is enclosed. Our goal is for you to have fun and friendship with Scouts and Scouters from around the Council. If you have questions contact your District Camping Chair/representative. Important Dates: April 6th ------------ Pre- Registration and payment due. Dates/Check-in: April 14 th, 2018. Units may check-in on Saturday from 8:30 am 9:30 am. Sunday s only scheduled activity is a religious service. Participation: This event is open to Webelos Scouts, Cub Scouts, Tiger Cubs, and Family Adult Leadership: Cub Scout Packs ratio of one leader to five youth. Tiger Cubs are invited. This is a Council event so Packs do not need their own Baloo trained leaders. Scout Uniform: The Scout Class B uniform or Pack t-shirt, is encouraged for the Saturday day activities. Flag ceremony is a Class A event. Registration: Each Pack should register their attendance by completing the online registration by April 6th for the early bird fee. Please register online at www.coronadoscout.org Event Fees: The event fee goes to defray the cost of patches, awards, liability insurance, meals, camp maintenance and program support materials. The early bird registration fee is $20 per youth / $15 per adult and is available until April 6th. After that date, the regular registration fee is $25 per youth / $15 per adult. Registration will close on April 9 th. An Event Patch will be presented to each registered participant. Meals: Saturday Lunch -- will be a sack lunch provided by the Scout / Leader. There will be a Saturday Supper held at the Dinning Hall. Sunday Breakfast is also included. Guest meals can be purchased at the Camp Trading Post if needed.
Vehicle Information: Parking in designated areas only. No Vehicles will be allowed in campsites Visitors: Visitors and parents are welcome to visit the camp throughout the weekend. However, they are not allowed to participate in any events. Flags: Packs are encouraged to fly their unit flag at each campsite. Event Rules: The event rules are for every one. The Scout Code of Conduct is found in the Scout Oath, Scout Law, and Outdoor Code. Any questions inquire with the Event Staff. Leaving the Event: Unit leaders are responsible for Scouts leaving early and knowing if the parent has given permission for their son to leave camp. Anyone leaving early must sign out with camp headquarters before leaving camp. Trading Post: The trading post will be open for Scouts and Scouters to purchase camp items. Hours of operation will be posted upon check-in. Religious Services: A Scout is Reverent. All Scouts and Leaders are asked to participate in the Sunday morning Religious service. No Ground Fires: Fires are only allowed in fire pits First Aid: Health Officer will be around camp. See a Staff member for assistance.
General Regulations: Camp Hansen Rules No open flames in tents Liquid fuels and propane stored in controlled areas by leaders Propane or liquid fuel stoves are recommended No digging, trenching or cutting of trees or brush Garbage is to be taken to the dumpster by Dining Hall No pets, not even with visitors Foot travel only, no ATVs or golf carts Campsites Will be assigned upon arrival Dress Code Scouts are asked to wear Class B (scout/ camp tee shirt) for Saturday activities and Class A for Saturday evening Ceremony, unless participating in costume contest. Visitors are welcome but must check-in at Dinning Hall. Cub Scout leaders/parents need to stay with their youth. Buddy System is always used. The Lake is off limits
