1-877-725-6674 Whilst many visitors to Uganda concentrate on the more famous parks and safari areas in the west, this remarkable itinerary takes in the less travelled eastern edge of the country. Filled with jaw-dropping scenery and a wealth of activities, the area is rich in contrasts and incredible wildlife. Beginning with the rich diversity of Murchison Falls National Park, you will spend time enjoying game drives and boat trips, as well as paying a visit to the renowned rhino sanctuary at Ziwa. After a chance to visit the falls themselves, you ll then move on to the source of the White Nile and the bustling town of Jinja on the shores of Lake Victoria. Making the most of its reputation as the adventure capital of East Africa, you ll enjoy a full day s white water expedition on the Nile whilst you are here. Moving on to the volcanic slopes of Mount Elgon, the last leg of the journey then takes you down towards the Kenyan border, to enjoy some stunning walking and a chance to visit the imposing Sipi Falls. Beautiful and refreshing devoid of visitors, Mount Elgon provides a perfect end to this off-beat adventure. HIGHLIGHTS: Enjoy Murchison Falls and its outstanding big game. Take a boat cruise to the base of Murchison Falls. White-water rafting along the White Nile. Walk the beautiful slopes of Mount Elgon. Relax in a lodge along the banks of the River Nile. TOUR INCLUSIONS: 9 nights in luxury hotels and lodges Full Board: 9 breakfasts, 8 lunches and 8 dinners Private driver guide for the duration of the trip Safari activities from lodges Conservation and park fees *Please note the price is per person and based on two persons sharing a twin or double room

ITINERARY DAY 1: ENTEBBE Arriving into Entebbe today, you will be met and driven on to your hotel for the evening. After a chance to freshen up, the rest of the day is then free to relax and enjoy at your leisure. DAY 2: ENTEBBE - MURCHISON FALLS NATIONAL PARK After enjoying a leisurely breakfast you will be collected from the hotel and driven on to the Murchison Falls National Park this morning, lying at the northern end of the Albertine Rift Valley. Stopping en route to visit the famous Ziwa rhino sanctuary, you will eventually arrive at your lodge in time to settle into your room before embarking on a late afternoon game drive through the park. (B,L,D) DAY 3: MURCHISON FALLS NATIONAL PARK Murchison Falls is Uganda's oldest and largest conservation area and is home to over 70 species of mammals and an incredibly rich diversity of birds. Beginning early today, you will enjoy breakfast at the lodge before taking advantage of the cool of the morning and the spectacular light to make the most of some superb game viewing when the animals are at their most active. Lunch will then be followed by an afternoon's boat ride up to the spectacular Murchison Falls. (B,L,D) DAY 4: MURCHISON FALLS NATIONAL PARK Today you will have an opportunity to split your time between a game drive and a boat cruise out to the Nile Delta, the perfect chance to spot rare shoebills along the shores of Lake Albert. Whichever option you choose, you can be assured some superb wildlife encounters in the company of your highly experienced guiding team. (B,L,D) DAY 5: MURCHISON FALLS NATIONAL PARK - JINJA Having enjoyed breakfast at the lodge you will continue your journey this morning through the Ugandan countryside towards Jinja. Nestling along the northern shores of Lake Victoria, Jinja lies close to the source of the White Nile and your lodge sits slightly upstream, providing splendid isolation and some stunning views out across the rapids. The perfect spot to relax after the pace of the past few days. (B,L,D)

DAY 6: JINJA A morning's gentle boat ride along the Nile will be followed by a visit to Jinja itself, to enjoy a city tour and learn more about East Africa's bustling adventure capital. There will be ample opportunity to make the most of the relaxing surroundings of the lodge too, enjoying the warm hospitality and fine food for which it is renowned. (B,L,D) DAY 7: JINJA Taking on one of Jinja's most adventurous challenges today you will spend the day on a full day's white-water rafting trip down the Nile. A truly exhilarating experience, you will join a team of highly experienced river guides as you negotiate a series of exciting rapids down Africa's most iconic of rivers. Returning to the lodge later this afternoon, the rest of the day is then free to relax and reflect on the day's adventures. (B,L,D) DAY 8: JINJA - MOUNT ELGON NATIONAL PARK Turning east today you journey heads next towards the volcanic slopes of Mount Elgon National Park, the oldest and largest solitary volcano in East Africa. Lying along the Kenyan border, the national park is home to over 300 species of birds including the endangered and impressive Lammergeyer. The drive takes you by way of Mbale, where you will stop off to enjoy a walk around the Sipi Falls before completing the journey on to your next hotel. (B,L,D) DAY 9: MOUNT ELGON NATIONAL PARK A nature walk along the lower slopes of Mount Elgon today provides a chance to look for primates amongst the vegetation. Whilst lacking in some of the larger game found in other parts of Uganda (although elephants can be found in the forests), Mount Elgon is blessed with plenty of black and white colobus monkeys, as well as small antelopes and the occasional buffalo. Returning to the hotel later this afternoon, there will be time to relax before dinner. (B,L,D) DAY 10: MOUNT ELGON NATIONAL PARK - ENTEBBE Departing Mbale after breakfast, you will be driven back to Entebbe today for your onward flight. (B)

ACCOMMODATION ENTEBBE PROTEA HOTEL BY MARRIOTT ENTEBBE Boasting an ideal location just 1km from Entebbe International Airport, the Protea Hotel, part of the South African chain recently acquired by Marriott, is an excellent choice for visitors looking for a comfortable stay when overnighting in Entebbe. This is a large hotel at 73 rooms, but it boasts an excellent range of facilities and dining options. All of the rooms are very spacious with en-suite bathrooms, tea and coffee making facilities, satellite TVs and in-room dining is available. The Standard and Deluxe Rooms have showers in the bathroom whilst the Executive Suites also boast a separate bath and shower. The hotel has a buffet and a la carte restaurant, cocktail bar and lovely outdoor swimming pool where guests can relax in the afternoons. Overall, this is by far our preferred option in Entebbe, clean, comfortable and well-run with excellent facilities, the Protea is the number one choice for an overnight stay in the city. JINJA WILDWATERS LODGE Hidden away on its own private island in the heart of the Nile River, Wildwaters Lodge is undoubtedly the best option for enjoying the many activities for which Jinja is so well known, especially as the lodge s sister company, Adrift, runs many of the activities in the area. The ten luxury rooms are all set on their own private decks and with canvas walls and thatched rooves have a traditional safari feel to them. Inside they are spacious and comfortable with hand-made furnishings, mosquito net draped beds and plenty of storage space. The en-suite bathrooms have basins hewn from the local pink granite and the outdoor freestanding baths are hugely popular with guests. Private verandas are found at the front of each room. The main lodge commands a quite remarkable location on a rock peninsula in the middle of the Nile, with the swimming pool being the ideal spot to relax and watch the waters of the iconic river rush by. The restaurant serves a variety of international and local cuisine and private dining can be arranged in a series of stunning locations on the large decking area. The cozy bar is a popular spot for guests to congregate in the evening and share tales of a day exploring this incredible part of Uganda. Guests staying at Wildwaters benefit from preferential rates for activities with Adrift and can enjoy a variety of things to do including white water rafting, gentle river cruises and bungee jumping. MOUNT ELGON NATIONAL PARK

MBALE RESORT HOTEL Boasting an ideal location in the town of Mbale and overlooking the Mount Elgon National Park, the Mbale Resort Hotel is the best base from which to explore this stunning part of Uganda. Although this is a large hotel at 94 bedrooms of varying standards, it is set over a large area so there is always a private feel to a stay here. Inside the bedrooms are spacious and comfortable with large en-suite bathrooms and plenty of amenities are provided. There is a large restaurant and bar at the lodge and guests are able to use the swimming pool, steam room and sauna to relax after a busy day exploring the area. Whilst this may lack the traditional charm of other lodges in Uganda, the location overlooking the park is stunning and with such a huge variety of activities on offer the hotel acts as a great place to stay and explore the area from. Visits to the Mount Elgon National Park are the main reason for coming here, but visits to the Sip and Sisiyi Falls can also be arranged, as can day trips to Tororo Rock and the Kapkwai Forest Exploration Centre. MURCHISON FALLS NATIONAL PARK CHOBE SAFARI LODGE Occupying an enviable location on the banks of the River Nile at the heart of the Murchison Falls National Park, Chobe Safari Lodge is a wonderful base from which to enjoy the myriad of activities that draw visitors from all over the world to this corner of Uganda. Although relatively large for a safari lodge at 61 rooms and tents, the lodge is incredibly spacious and there is never the feeling of being overrun by other guests. The bedrooms are all located within the main building and have en-suite bathrooms, full amenities within the room and balconies looking out towards the Nile. The tents are equally luxurious and offer a very traditional safari feel to them with the private balconies offering a wonderful spot to sit back and relax during the afternoons. Families can take one of the two cottages that sit within the grounds of the lodge. The three-tier swimming pool is very popular with guests and the Rapids pool bar serves drinks and snacks throughout the day. There is an excellent restaurant and bar within the lodge as well as a gym, spa and small safari shop. The lodge offers guests a wide variety of activities including boat safaris, trips to the Murchison and Karuma Falls, game drives, guided walks, fishing trips and birdwatching excursions. For those looking to go a little further afield, the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary is a great day out from the lodge.
