Unexplored paths lead to undiscovered treasures. Day 1 Fly to Marrakech or Ouarzazate. Overnight stay in a hotel. Day 2 On arrival at M Hamid we load up the camels and start the trek through bare fields and palm trees. Towards late afternoon we arrive at M Hamid El Rhozlane, where we ll camp for the night. 3 hours trekking Day 3 We trek at the speed of our camels and pass the cliffs of the southern Drâa in the direction of the first Dunes of Ait Oumir. We camp shaded by Tamarisk trees. Day 4 We catch our first sight of L erg Zaher, the highest dunes in this region. We reach the top and celebrate our achievement with breathtaking views. Our camp for the night is at the foot of these dunes. Day 5 We cross the river bed of the Drâa and take time to recoup in the shade of the trees of Sidi Taib. Tonight s camp is set between the dunes of Sedrar and Smar, a beautiful setting for our evening relaxation. 5 hours trekking Day 6 The contours of the Hamada du Drâa become blurred in the heat waves. We reach our camp at the dune of Bouguern; our home for the evening. Day 7 Last day of trekking. Time to say goodbye to the camel team and the sand dunes and get settled to catch the last desert sunset. Day 8 Leisurely drive up the Drâa palmerie, and on reaching Ouarzazate, skirt the town for an afternoon visit to the world heritage site of Ait Ben Haddou, the ancient Kasbah which has been a backdrop for many films including Gladiator. We return to the hotel for a big celebration! Day 9 Fly home from Ouarzazate or Marrakech.
