1921: Heinrich Berndes at age of 36 years. 95 + 1 The story continues Last year we celebrated our 95th anniversary, and we took a look back over a history rich in tradition. We have been producing kitchen utensils since we were founded in 1921, and in that time the market has continually been revolutionised from the first non-stick cooking pans to the patented BONANZA pan and the b.double. For 96 years now, we have been working non-stop on developments in quality and technology. We continue today to work on making our products even more local and even more reliable to satisfy your needs. And we re keeping it real, authentic and close to our roots. The hill climber Well rounded people Berndes people The most valuable resource BERNDES has is and always will be its staff. They bring a little piece of home with them into the company and take it from there out into the outside world. They stand for our region and our company. As well as their passion for work, the balance with their private life plays an important role too. And there s a strong feeling of home there too... The steeper, the better! Purchasing manager Marc Kampmann loves speed. Sharp bends, steep climbs, downhill racing: For him, riding his mountain bike means freedom, fun and a bit of a buzz. Rain? Whatever. And where better for cycling than in the forests and hills of Sauerland? To the limit! The pan fryer Music to delight. For Rolf Giese, manager of production and technology, music provides a balance to his working life. He was into singing even as a youngster and he s been in a number of bands since, either as a singer or playing the guitar. His cheerful hits, some written by himself, set the mood at Sauerland parties, giving that real feeling of home. Mr. Inexhaustible She swims, she cycles, she runs: four years ago, Elke Stagge, responsible for production planning, discovered a new passion: the triathlon. It was particularly the idea of competitions on the home front and around the Möhnesee Lake and training in the Arnsberg Forest that caught her fancy. A passion for cooking. For Sebastian Schneider, head of marketing, cooking is a real hobby. Particularly on the weekends, you can find him chopping, frying and feasting. And what s important to him are the regional ingredients, preferably from the farmer in the next village fresh, kind to the environment, sustainable and reliable. And the best place to find these things is near home. The entertainer 110 % commitment. Our long-serving staff member Günter Lochner has been working for the Berndes brand for 25 years now, and he brings a lot of that feeling of home into our company. Down to earth, reliable and a real authentic Sauerlander, he throws his full weight behind our products. No job s too small for him and no challenge too great.
