Newsletter November 2015 The Association of Rover Car Clubs (NZ) Inc ARCC National Rally 2016 We are nearing Christmas / New Year and the 30 th November 2015 for the final registration date is fast approaching. Information update:- As at the Rally meeting on the 5 th November we had 22 registration with 36 people attending the Oamaru ARCC Rally. On the original Rally Registration form we sent out, we omitted to request details of your email address. The form on our website has been amended to include these details. Should you have used the original form & wish to advise these details please forward to:- Ray Pilley (Treasurer) at Rover110@windowslive.com. Information update. For those travelling from the North Island a discount has been arranged with the Inter-Islander Ferries, the code for the discount provided on payment of the ARCC Rally Registration Fee. Once again we look forward to your company at Easter next year as do all the Oamaru area people we have spoken too. We have extended the final Registration date to be same as full payment date of the 1 st March 2016, but would appreciate an earlier advice and payment of the $50 registration fee to assist with the catering. Next update will be in the New Year. In the meantime, all the very best to you all and your families for Christmas and the New Year. IGNITION December 2015 Normal turnout for our Pre Meeting meal. See Minutes. For Best of British I was at the start helping with the send-off. Information from Mark Patterson. The people that went on the event seemed to enjoy it well enough. Quite a few went on the Grand Parade but it did not seem to me that many actually took much notice of the heritage events so having it as part of another event was not necessarily to our advantage, a copy of the neport is available. Please contact me should you require a copy. ARCC Rally Easter next year: It is disappointing that other clubs have more people registered than our club, the Host club. Come on members support your own club and make the effort & register. Copy of registration form with this newsletter. As mentioned on Events page: SEASONS GREETINGS & Happy New Year 2016 That s all for now, DRIVE SAFE OUT THERE Jeff Sparrow President RCCOO. Safe journey's The Otago Rover Car Club ARCC Rally Committee. 3 6

ASSOCIATION OF CAR CLUBS NZ (INC) PO Box 23004 Dalesford Hamilton 3254 www.rovercars.co.nz Seasonal Greetings to all members. Newsletter number four davidr@odyssey.co.nz National Rally 2016 The Otago Club have preparations well in hand for their 2016 Rally based in Oamaru for Easter 2016. They have sent out early details and more will follow. It sounds like they have a number of interesting places ready for us to visit. Any trophies from the 2015 Rally will need to be returned to Otago for this Rally. Have there been any further thoughts on either the North Island based cars meeting up in Blenheim prior to the Rally for a combined tour down to Oamaru or for a celebration of 40 years of the Rover SD1 as suggested in the last newsletter? National Rally 2017 As preparations will need to commence soon for this event, has there been any feedback on likely attendance for a 2017 North Island Rally in the Hawkes Bay in March 2017? This was suggested in part due to feedback from the South Island Clubs whose members suggested that they found North Island roads too busy for them. The Hawkes Bay will have quiet roads that would be enjoyed. The Waikato and Taranaki Clubs will need to make a start on organising this event soon, so feedback on likely attendance would be appreciated. If we don t get any comments soon on whether this location will tempt South island based cars northwards, we will have to determine whether to stay with the Hawkes Bay concept, or switch to a central North Island location more convenient to the North Island based cars. Australian National Rally 2016 The Australian National Rally is due to be held on 14-17 th October 2016 in Busselton in Western Australia. As this doesn t clash with any NZ Nationals, some members might wish to attend. ARCC Website The website is now operating well, any suggestions for improvement would be appreciated. Liability Insurance The feedback to date from Auckland, Waikato and Canterbury Clubs is to retain the status quo regarding club setup and insurance. Feedback from Nelson was a possible yes to a partial amalgamation of the Regional Clubs into one National Club (for insurance purposes), with regional branches, but with reservations and provisos. Any further comments from the other Clubs? Health & Safety The FOMC continue to maintain a watching brief on this issue. They will keep us informed of progress, but it will involve some input from the various committees to ensure we have all of the necessary forms completed for any Club event. Club Levies. A reminder for the club levies that need to be returned to me before Christmas. The levies comprise $2 for the ARCC membership, which covers the membership of the FOMC (an organisation that is essential in running old vehicles) and the minimal operational costs of the ARCC, and a further $3 for the liability insurance for all Clubs. Note that all Clubs need to pay the full $5 as the insurers cover all the Clubs. I ve added direct credit details for those Clubs that want to make use of this facility. Finally, I d like to wish all members a safe and Merry Christmas and Best Wishes for the New Year. Kind regards, David Raven National Secretary.
