Our Tools and Pricing Our Proposal Negotiated air fare: Where warranted, we track your volume and ensure that as a corporation you are entered into a program with a carrier that best meets your needs. This allows your corporation to reap some sort of benefit from that carrier. Discounted Hotels: R&K belongs to three different hotel consortiums. What this means to you the customer, is savings at hotels world-wide, without having to go through a major travel company to get discounts. We have access to 75,000 hotels discounts world-wide. Immediate Resolution: If your travel is booked online and an airport closed or flight is delayed, what happens? Long lines or finding somewhere to access the net, to try and resolve this issue on your own, is usually the norm. What that means again is lost time, lost productivity, and lost revenue. By using R&K as your travel management firm you dial us immediately when the problem happens. We can resolve the situation for you. Confirm you on another flight; book you in a hotel ASAP before they sell out from the crowd who also needs a hotel. We will keep you apprised of the developments, such as airport reopening and flights resuming to normal. This alleviates a tremendous amount of stress in your life, facilitates you to be able to get on with your day, and back to work as soon as possible. Lose your luggage? 24 Hour Access: At any time or day of the year, as long as you dial R&K, you will be immediately connected to someone who has access to your reservations, as well as, your personal information. In serious emergencies, they have our cell phone numbers, as well as, yourself will always have access to our cell phones. Concierge Services: Forgot your suitcase? Need clothes, call us, we will fed ex clothes and arrange they be shipped from your favorite store. Don t laugh it has happened. Need a nanny? Need a limo? Need concert tickets? Need a body guard? Need flowers sent to someone? Play tickets? Dinner reservations? House Rental? Maid service? Yacht charter? Forgot to buy a gift? If you are in need of assistance, let us know, and we ll do our best to meet your needs. Aircraft Charters: R&K has access to various private charter services and leasing. Perhaps you need a charter for one person, which we can arrange. Or maybe one of our travel managers realizes that a private charter would be less expensive than flying ten people in your group on the same airplane from Los Angeles to Sydney in first class. Meeting Planning: We are trained in putting on your event for two or one hundred two. Again, offering service not offered by any other travel agency. From planning a simple meeting, to hosting your hospitality room nightly in a foreign city, we are there for you. Your travel data that is reserved or purchased will be stored in Globalware. R&K will customize data from this system for your own reports that best fit your needs. This way you only receive what is helpful to you, as you want it, and not just standard garbage that is of no value to anyone. Cornerstone: This is our software system that works very hard to make your travel life more pleasurable. The system checks your reservations six times a day, and it only does what you need. It will try
to improve your seat, if a flight is very full, and your seat requests have not been met. It checks waitlists for sold out flights that you need to be on. It can fax or e-mail hotel directions that you have requested. It checks your reservation for a better fare, so that we can refund money back to you if your fare goes down. It is truly a necessary tool in today s travel environment. History of travel management fees: An announcement was made by Delta Airlines on February 9, 1995, that they would be capping travel agency commissions at $50.00. By Tuesday, February 15, 1995, all the United States based carriers had announced that they would also be doing the same. The new commission cap was implemented and took affect April 15, 1995. On September 1, 1995, the Canadian carriers announced that they would be joining the U.S. carriers in imposing commission caps within the travel industry. On November 12, 1998, the international carriers joined with a cap of $100.00 on all international travel. This was implemented and took affect twenty four hours later. By March of 2002, all the carriers joined in paying zero commission for all tickets issued by any travel agency, and this again took affect with only twenty four hours warning from all carriers. What this meant to R&K is that we were forced to operate on revenues of one hundred percent less than what we had in years past. A travel management fee had to be implemented. Fee structure offered by R&K Travel: $25 per ticket. Concierge Services: fee will be quoted for task requested. Meeting Planning: fee will be quoted directly related to your meeting and specifics involved. Superior service, above and beyond either a small or large corporate agency. Our Proposal (R&K) was founded in 1989 to offer a unique travel agency that would provide superior service, above and beyond, either a small agency or a large world-wide corporate agency. We were founded to provide service that other agencies claim they offer, but actually never fulfill. In 1991, we founded Mining and Resource (MRTM), realizing the Mining and Resource Industry was in need of specialty travel, probably more than any other industry. Their industry
was evolving with environmental regulations changing severely and forever impacting the way they conducted business. Travel abroad was a new reality. A lot of the destinations, being very rural, were hard to get to, and that still holds true today. The more rural the destination, it is more difficult to book, and impossible to manage by on line bookings. In the travel industry, as a specialty travel management firm, we are considered a boutique agency. We are not about booking the average traveler or tourist from New York to Dallas. We are extremely specialized, customer oriented, and we provide superior service to our unique customers, who understand the value that superior service offers to their lives personally, as well as, the corporation that they own or manage. In addition to our proposal: Upon acceptance of our proposal, we will offer a discounted service fee exclusive to Thompson Creek of $25.00 per ticket and $25.00 per exchange. We do not have a menu; we do not charge service fees for anything else, such as hotels, frequent flyer research, profiles, or credit card reconciliation. Our goal has been to keep the service fee structure very simple for both our clients and ourselves. R&K Travel has always provided upgrades to your passengers flying off the continent of North America from business class to first class. Currently, your employees have preferred that we bill Thompson Creek for their plane tickets, instead of them having to expense them. R&K would continue to extend a free credit line to Thompson Creek on a hand shake. R&K Travel also has extensive experience in planning corporate retreats and board meetings. My personal background not included in this proposal; I have lived in mining camps growing up, and have serviced the mining industry s travel needs since 1987. In the 1990 s, I worked two weeks a month in Sudbury, Ontario (nickel capital of the world), and the other two weeks in Golden or our Denver Tech Center location. In June of 2009, R&K implemented electronic invoices, an itinerary that downloads into the employee s electronic calendar and instant flight stats for the traveler s flight.
