UDIA NSW INTERNATIONAL STUDY TOUR Following the success of the study tours to Singapore, Shanghai, Tokyo, San Francisco and Los Angeles, UDIA NSW will this year be showcasing Asia. The tour will visit Shanghai, Guangzhou and Hong Kong to learn lessons from the local property market with a focus on innovation, land use and urban planning. The UDIA NSW International Study Tour 2016 itinerary has been designed specifically for leaders in the Australian development industry from both the public and private sectors. Tour delegates will meet with local and international developers, consultants and other officials to learn about and exchange views on planning, urbanisation, development, housing design and technology, sustainability and innovation. WHAT YOU WILL SEE AND LEARN SHANGHAI Strategic Planning Learn about Shanghai's strategic plan-making for the city's land and social-economic development and physical construction. Learn how government organisations, districts and countys work together to achieve successful outcomes. Urban Renewal Hear from the local experts and visit some key heritage sites and redevelopment projects such as Xintiandi, The Bund, Tian Zhi Fang, Shanghai 1933 and Pudong. Financing Development Learn the common methods of financing development in Shanghai, such as national government grants and loans raised from treasure bonds, municipal government funds, tariff and user charges, loans from banks, capital markets, and private sector involvement. Public Spaces In a city in the midst of transformational change, public spaces are as important as the high-rise towers that dominate the city's landscape as they contribute to a shared sense of community within the city. On this tour we will visit some key public space redevelopments. Residential Development Spend a day exploring a mixture of signature high-end, 'themed' and affordable residential developments hosted by local developers and members of UDIA NSW. Conservation of Heritage Observe development projects in the inner city, especially the redevelopment of historic residential blocks, and discover how different patterns work to preserve the old residential blocks under the effects of the redevelopment. Golf course and theme park inspired hotels are mixed in with residential and retail development. Planning for Growth Learn how the Guangzhou municipality implements national, provincial and municipal laws, rules, regulations and policies concerning urban and rural planning. Transport Infrastructure Learn how major transport infrastructure projects in the region have facilitated urban development and connected the people of the Pearl River Delta as well as playing an integral role in promoting Guangzhou's economic development. HONG KONG Transport Orientated Development Learn about the model Hong Kong developed to solve their conflicting land uses by integrating their mass transport solution with their housing and commercial development needs. Signature Sites Spend a day exploring signature projects with a focus on innovation and technology hosted by UDIA NSW members. To secure your place on the tour at earlybird rates, complete and return the registration forms with a $5,000 non-refundable deposit, by Friday 18 March 2016. Registrations after this date will incur additional costs. 2. Registration is confirmed upon receipt of deposit. 3. No refunds, cancellations or name changes will be accepted after this form has been submitted and flights have been arranged. 4. Final payment is due no later than 30 April 2016. 5. Changes to your flight details once booked will incur additional costs. 6. Flight upgrades are an additional expense that must be organised by the delegate. UDIA NSW s appointed travel agent can assist with arranging an upgrade or alternate flights. 7. Leisure touring is an additional expense which can be booked though the UDIA NSW via the options available or delegates are welcome to organise their own leisure activities. 9. Every effort will be made to deliver the advertised program, however the content of the tour, and days when activities are held, may be subject to change. 12. Where replacements are required, they will be of the same quality and consistent with the intent of the study tour. 13. UDIA NSW requires a minimum number of 12 participants for the tour to proceed. If minimum numbers are not achieved, UDIA NSW has the right to cancel the tour and a full refund will be made. 14.
