Dear Youth Leader; Congratulations on being nominated by your Scoutmaster to attend the LHC Twin Arrow National Youth Leadership Training Conference. The conference will be held at Camp Twin Echo, from June 10 16, 2018. During the week you and other youth leaders from all over our council (and other councils) will be living, camping and working together as members of a patrol and a Troop. Please find enclosed important information you will need to prepare for the course. Bring a COPY (not the original) of your Personal Health and Medical form to the course. Bring this form to camp DO NOT mail to the scout office. This BSA medical form must be signed by a physician and dated current within 1 year prior to June 17, 2017. Attach a copy of your medical insurance card. Bring the enclosed Supplemental Medication form to camp. ARRIVE: Sunday June 10, 2018 12:00 pm. parking lot Camp Twin Echo. Parents: There are no visitor nights. This is a training course, not a summer camp; therefore, no time is allotted for visitations. Parents will be contacted in the event of an emergency. If you do not hear from your son, you can rest safe in the knowledge that he is safely participating in the Twin Arrow program. Please do not send cell phones, CD players, ipods, gaming devices, GPS devices etc. Please understand that if cell phones or other electronics are found, they will be held by the Course leaders and returned on the last day at departure time. Unlike phone calls, mail is often a welcome event for the boys. The U.S. Postal Service still makes daily deliveries to Camp Twin Echo and parents are welcome to send letters or packages to their sons. Packages of cookies may be inspected by the Course Director and Advisor. (They prefer chocolate chip, Snicker Doodles are good, too!). Course Location: Camp Twin Echo 115 Twin Echo Drive - New Florence, PA 15944 (724) 238-6939 DEPARTURE (at end of the course): Saturday June 16, 2018 9:00 a.m. from Woodward Center at Camp Twin Echo. We re excited about this conference! After seeing the list of youth leaders who will be attending this course, I know we'll have a great week of fine Scouting. If you or your parents have any questions, feel free to call me at (724) 225-1016 or Charlie Huse at (412)- 325-7950. We re looking forward to meeting you at Camp Twin Echo, June 10, 2018, registration begins at noon. Very Sincerely, Greg Tokar Twin Arrow NYLT Course Director

ARRIVE: Sunday June 10, 2018 12:00 p.m. parking lot Camp Twin Echo. \Register: Finalize any fees due Review Medicals Personal inventory Assigned to a Patrol When your son has completed registration, he will be assigned to a patrol. This is where his parents will say, good-by. He will be escorted to his assigned patrol and the parents may depart. DEPARTURE (at end of course) Saturday June 16, 2018 from Woodward Center at Camp Twin Echo. Parents, please do not come to the camp parade field or camp site until the troop is dismissed. Parents: There are no visitor nights. This is a training course, not a summer camp; therefore, no time is allotted for visitations. In addition, no time is allotted for 112 boys to call home. Parents will be contacted in the event of an emergency. If you do not hear from your son, you can rest safe in the knowledge that he is safely participating in the Twin Arrow program. Please do not send cell phones. The boys are going to be busy and do not have time to be leaving their campsites/patrols to wander around Twin Echo saying, Can you hear me now? In addition, we have found over years of experience that boys are much more likely to be homesick if they call home. No electronics (CD players, radios, Gaming devices, GPS devices, etc). These things act to separate boys from their patrols and interfere with boys ability to carry out the tasks they need to be doing. (They prefer chocolate chip). Arrival on Time is Critical: Twin Arrow 1st Troop meeting is at 1:00 p.m. Course Location: Camp Twin Echo 115 Twin Echo Drive New Florence, PA 15944 (412) 238-6939 DEPARTURE (at end of the course): Saturday June 16, 2018 9:00 a.m. from Woodward Center at Camp Twin Echo.
