City f Delafield BLEEKER STREET BOAT LAUNCH OVERVIEW / CURRENT STATUS The bat ramp and pier n Bleeker Street at St. Jhn s Bay prvides year rund facilities fr launching water craft, fishing pprtunities and wildlife sightings. The launch area has ample parking space available fr vehicles and trailers, with nly a Delafield Resident Sticker required fr trailer parking. The high vlume f usage during the summer mnths is limited by the strage f the City weed harvesters at the secndary pier t the east f the bat launch, which culd be used fr bat dcking r fishing if alternative summer strage is prvided fr the harvesting equipment. The weed harvesters are stred n DPW prperty in the ff seasn. The cnstructin f a permanent bathrm wuld replace the temprary prtable tilet nw in use, and prvide launch users with mdern sanitatin and hand washing facilities nw shwn t impede the spread f viruses. City f Delafield LOIS JENSEN NATURE PRESERVE OVERVIEW / CURRENT STATUS Unique amng The City's parks, the Lis Jensen Nature Preserve is an unspiled 30 acre tract f native wds, crssed by natural trails. Dappled sunlight, birdsng and a sense f peace enchant thse wh visit. The Preserve lies between Vettelsn Rad and Nagawicka Lake, giving access t the kettle prtin f the lake. The kettle dates frm the time f the glaciers that frmed s many f the gelgical features f ur Kettle Mraine area. Fittingly, access is nly by ft, helping t preserve the delicate eclgy f the area. Summer uses include hiking, fishing, kayaking and swimming. Winter uses include access fr ice fishing, as well as winter walks. Crss cuntry skiers can break their wn trails fr a "rad less travelled" experience. The natural trails prvide explratin f wds and wetlands, traversing the Preserve bth nrth t suth frm Vettelsn Rad t the lake, and east t west frm Lake Cuntry Schl t Dickten Park in Nashtah. The trail entrance n Vettelsn Rad has a small parking area alng the suth shulder west f the sign, fr safe lading and unlading. At the trailhead is a sanitatin statin, with a trash receptacle, and a dggie statin. Dgs are allwed ff leash, under verbal cntrl, in this park; this is the nly city park where the leash rule des nt apply. Lng term plans fr the park include trail develpment, with mulch and signage.
