Less than an hour away from the park you ll find the popular coastal resort of Southendon-Sea where you can enjoy all the traditional pleasures of the seaside from the shore to the pier head. Surrounding the entrance of the pier you ll find the Adventure Island; a family-friendly, free admission theme park with over 50 rides and attractions. Southend is also the home of a thriving cultural scene with various museums, historic houses, art hall, you can enjoy everything from touring West End musicals and ballet to concerts and comedy. Slightly further afield you ll find Colchester, the oldest recorded town in Britain with history dating back more than 2000 years.
