May 5 th Janes Walk - City Hall 1 pm A downtown walking tour. Departs from City Hall at 1pm. 27 th Huntington s Society Walk & Fun Fair - 110 Simcoe St. S / Memorial Park 10:30 am - registration 11 am - walk Join us after for lunch and entertainment in Memorial park! There will be face painting, vendors, live music, special guests, BBQ and inflatables! 23 rd & 30 th Show and - City Hall Parking Lot Weekly car show, runs every Wednesday from 6 pm to dusk starting the first Wednesday after the Victoria Day weekend in May until the first Wednesday after Labour Day (weather permitting). Local Classic Car Enthusiasts bring their classic cars to showcase for the evening.
June 6 th Show and - City Hall Parking Lot 6 th 10:30 am - 2:30 pm Swing into Summer - 110 Simcoe St. S. A giant kick off to Senior s month at Memorial Park. Live entertainment, exhibitors, demos and more. All free. BBQ for a small fee. All are welcome. 9 th - 10 th Peony Festival - Oshawa Valley Botanical Gardens / 155 Arena St. 10 am - 4 pm Three hundred varieties of Peonies in the garden with hundreds more blooms in the judged flower show. Bonsai exhibit, photo and art competitions, works for sale by artisans. A Children s Garden, horticultural advice, musical entertainment and lots of food choices. june 17 th Fiesta Parade - 110 Simcoe St. S. 12:30 pm Parade starts at 12:30 and goes along King and Centre, ending at Memorial Park. Experience different cultures through their dances and displays. 20 th Show and - City Hall Parking Lot 23 rd - 24 th 12th Annual Metis Heritage Celebration - 110 Simcoe St. S. Sat: 10 am - 6 pm Sun: 10 am - 4 pm The Annual Metis Heritage Celebration aims to provide our citizens and community with a better understanding of our unique culture. We start the day with a Grand Entry. (There will be a great line up of performers). Jigging and fiddling workshops, smudging ceremonies and so much more. July 4 th Show and - City Hall Parking Lot 11 th Show and - City Hall Parking Lot 12 th Oshawa Wine Tasting Festival - Robert McLaughlan Galley 11 am - 8 pm This fun and popular wine tasting event features many Ontario and Canadian wines. Attendees have the opportunity to try and buy selections often only available at the winery itself. Wine education and food sampling are also featured. This is a 19+ event. 14 th Durham Craft Beer Fest - Ontario St. 11 am - 8 pm If you enjoy craft beer, you will not want to miss this annual event. Hosted by Buster Rhino s Southern BBQ, there will be craft beers from the Durham Region as well as other areas of Ontario. Event limited to ages 19 and older.

Turning into one of the largest motorcycle events in the province, motorcycle riders come together in Oshawa and spend the day in our downtown displaying their bikes and interacting with the crowds. This show offers: Live entertainment, vendors, dealers and the ever popular Show and. This free event is entering its 7th year and promises to be even bigger in 2018. 15 th OCB Hymn of the Highlands - Memorial Park 7:30 pm - 9 pm Part of the Oshawa Civic Band Concert Series, join us for a free concert located at Memorial Park Bandshell!
august 15 th Show and - City Hall Parking Lot 16 th Summer Night Market - Memorial Park 5 pm - 9 pm Drop by for our traditional Thursday night concert with the addition of vendors, artisans, food and other entertainment. 22 nd Show and - City Hall Parking Lot 24 th Kars on King - Downtown Oshawa 3 pm - 10:30 pm Kars on King is back! Held on Friday, August 24, this classic event is a great way to start a weekend full of beautiful cars. Free to the public, come downtown to see hundreds of classic cars from across North America. No Registration Required. Open to all makes 1987 and older. Enjoy exciting live entertainment and don t forget to check out the corresponding Touch-a-Truck family event at the Tribute Communities Centre. There is something for everyone, so mark your calendar now.
august 24 th time TBD Touch a Truck - Tribute Community Centre Free community event will be hosted outside and around the Tribute Communities Centre. A hands on event that allows children of all ages to get up close and personal with more than 40 vehicles of all shapes and sizes. Children will love the interactive displays and the opportunity to learn about the vehicles from the drivers. 29 th 7:30 pm - 9 pm OCB Out of this World - Memorial Park Part of the Oshawa Civic Band Concert Series, join us for a free concert located at Memorial Park Bandshell! 29 th Show and - City Hall Parking Lot september 5 th Show and - City Hall Parking Lot 22 nd Butter Tart Festival - Civic Square 12 pm - 4 pm Oshawa s Butter Tart Festival is a great way to experience the many different varieties of delicious butter tarts. Hosted at Civic Square (50 Centre St S), there will be at least 10 local butter tart vendors along with a number of other complimentary product vendors to explore.
september 29 th Doors Open - Location TBD 10 am - 4 pm Doors Open Ontario is a province-wide celebration that provides a unique opportunity to explore and enjoy sometimes hidden and always interesting places and spaces in cities across Ontario - all free of charge! november 3 rd Time TBD International Wine Festival - Location TBD Want to be introduced to wines from other parts of the world? This wine event will feature selected international wines which are available in the local LCBO. Stay tuned for dates and further details. Event limited to age 19 and older. 16 th 5 pm - 9 pm Christmas Market - Civic Square Due to its popularity, the Christmas Market will be expanded to a two night event in 2018. The market will be held in conjunction with the City s Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony at City Hall. While you await Santa s arrival, start your Christmas shopping by visiting the many creative vendors in the market. The market continues the next evening starting prior to the Santa Clause Parade in downtown Oshawa. Join us in kicking off the joy of the holiday season.
november 16 th Tree Lighting Ceremony - Civic Square 6:45 pm - 8:15 pm Hosted by the City of Oshawa come out and enjoy the evening. Sample some hot chocolate while taking in some of the crafts and entertainment. Santa usually makes an appearance. Bring a non perishable item for the community food drive. 17 th 5 pm - 9 pm Christmas Market - Civic Square Due to its popularity, the Christmas Market will expand to a two night event in 2018. december 19 th The 5th Annual Professors Of Funk Friends & Family Christmas Special - 66 Simcoe St. S. 7:30 pm Back for its 5th year, this hugely popular concert in the historic landmark Simcoe Street United Church features a talented roster of guest artists from the region, raising funds for the Back Door Mission For The Relief Of Poverty.
The Downtown Oshawa Business Improvement Area (BIA) has been in existence since 1974. The main purpose of the BIA is to encourage the beautification of our Downtown and to promote the area as an eating, entertainment, business and shopping destination. We do this through a number of initiatives: Marketing: Understanding who our customers are, and creating effective promotions to retain and expand the customer base. Business Recruitment: Working with property owners to help ensure that available space is occupied and that an optimal business and service mix is achieved and maintained. Streetscape Improvements and Other Amenities: Providing for more customer friendly lighting, signage, street furniture, planters, banners and sidewalk treatment. Seasonal Decorations: Creating a unique and pleasant environment for customers and staff of all business, retail and non-retail, through the use of decorations that are appropriate for the season and/or holiday. Special Events: Organizing and partnering in special events that highlight unique attributes of that area and increase visits to the downtown.
