General Information EDUCATIONAL PROGRAM The 2006 National Conference educational program will provide a comprehensive overview of developments for lawyers specialising in personal injury law and other areas of social justice, delivered by experts and leading practitioners. Running over two full days, the program will present inspirational and significant plenary sessions, an excellent selection of concurrent papers and a panel discussion, as well as the ever-popular annual case review. HYATT REGENCY SANCTUARY COVE Hyatt Regency Sanctuary Cove is a five-star resort hotel on the Gold Coast. Styled as a traditional 1940s grand Queensland homestead and set amidst lush, tropical gardens, the hotel s colonial design is an elegant reminder of former times, offering a unique blend of hospitality and sophistication. The resort is surrounded by superior sporting and recreational facilities, including two challenging golf courses, a 25-metre heated pool, the resort s signature one-acre saltwater beach lagoon pool, tennis courts and lawn bowls facilities. The Marine Shopping Village provides more than 80 speciality stores. The resort also offers a world-class day spa and fitness centre as well as fully supervised and fun-filled children s activities through Camp Hyatt. Special rates have been negotiated with the Hyatt Regency Sanctuary Cove, with standard rooms at $230 per room per night (inc GST). Note this is a room only rate and does not include breakfast. This group rate is available between 11 October and 15 October. Note that accommodation is limited and must be paid in full with your conference registration. TRAVEL The following airlines fly direct to the Gold Coast and Brisbane from most Australian capital cities (the resort is located mid-way between Brisbane and Gold Coast airports). SOCIAL ACTIVITIES A Hawaiian themed conference dinner will be held at the resort on Friday 13 October 2006, commencing with drinks from 7.00pm. The traditional National Conference golf tournament will be held following the conference on Sunday 15 October from 10.00am at The Palms Course. Book early as numbers are limited!
