Originally a private retreat of the Brink family, Chitwa Chitwa was transformed by Charl into an oasis of conservation and harmony. In 1991 Charl and Maria Brink created Chitwa Chitwa Private Game Lodge, today a jewel of South African hospitality and an emblem of the savannas most authentic and refined luxury. Chitwa is located at : 24 44 2.16 S, 31 33 35.81 E Directions to Chitwa Chitwa Map of Sabi Sand PLAINS GETTING TO CHITWA BY AIR: The lodge is easily accessible by air from Oliver Tambo in Johannesburg with a flying time of approximately 1 and a half hours. Direct connecting flights are also available from Kruger International which take just over half an hour and from Eastgate Airport in Hoedspruit with 25 minutes flying time. The lodge is situated in the northern area of the Sabi Sand and access if via Gowrie Gate, near the Orpen Gate of the Kruger National Park. Chitwa Chitwa is a scenic three-hour drive from Nelspruit. CHILDREN POLICY Children who have not yet turned 3 by the date of arrival stay free of charge Children from the age of 3 up to their 6th birthday will be charged 25% Children from the age of 6 up to their 12th birthday will be charged 50% Children 12 years and older sharing with adults will be charged full adult rate. Children under 6 will not be allowed on game drives unless parents have the sole use of the vehicle. Vehicle exclusivity must be pre-booked.
