Dutch treat! 3208 FOREST HILL BLVD PALM SPRINGS, FL 33406 PRESIDENT'S STATEMENT First of all, I want to thank you for electing me president. I will do my best for the club. However, I can't do that alone. To put a different spin on a famous phrase made by President Kennedy, "Ask not what our club can do for you. Ask what you can do for our club." For those of you who have been on the board and on committees, I thank you most kindly. For the rest of you, I ask that you become more involved in our club. I do not mean by just attending meetings and hunts. I would like each of you to bring fresh ideas to our meetings ranging from new places to hunt, hunting seminars, guest speakers, etc. Think outside the box. Our club has had many new members join recently. At our last meeting, some of them suggested new ideas. Let's keep the creativity going so that we can anticipate new things, as well as our standard fare. Our club will then grow because we will have more interesting things going on. As we grow, there will again be new ideas suggested - a domino effect. There are many metal detecting clubs out there. We need to make ours unique. Already, we have a film company interested in filming us - not some other club. As all of you know, the focus of our club is to promote metal detecting, educate the uninformed, be good Samaritans and to promote fellowship. I know that each of you adheres to these goals. Keep it up. I am here for each of you. If you need assistance with anything, have a suggestion, or even have a problem that you feel you can't discuss with anyone else, I am available at any time to lend an ear. Again, thank you for your vote of confidence in me. I won't let you down. Thank you., Frank Nash, President

Please pay your dues as I, Jan Smirnow, would really like to have our 2014 Directory finished for the March Newsletter. Only three members were in attendance for the January Meeting Birthday Dollars. Bo Greenwood, Nina Smith and Irving Smith. Arrangements have been made for the next meeting to be held in a different room in the Science Museum. We will be directed to this temporary location at our next meeting. The room was viewed at the last meeting by the members in attendance and a vote was held to try the room for February. We will be able to use either this room or the auditorium for future meetings with approval by the Directors of the Science Museum. Challenge Levels are still in effect. There are five levels, and each level has a list of items to be found, verified by the Hunt Master, Linda Bennett. Like a scavenger hunt only done by individuals.
