Sincerely, Sketch Jennifer Lindquist Historic Rehab in Progress Historic Rehab in Progress Leon Konieczny This neglected old home in the historic district is believed to be over 125 years old. The house was moved in the 1950 s (its first rescue) to its current location. In later years it suffered neglect, was abandoned, and eventually became a home to transients and squatters. In the hope of revitalization the city facilitated the donation of the house to the Sanford Heritage Revolving Fund, from a California hedge fund. The non-profit Fund is working on restoring it to its former glory with a rehabbed exterior and a thoroughly modern interior (its second rescue). If you drive by S. 213 Laurel Avenue today you may not even recognize it. Restoration should be complete in the first half of 2019. At the time of this photo, it was a sorry looking, dilapidated edifice, a shell of its once magnificent splendor, and in need of a tremendous amount of TLC. Leon G. Konieczny Leon G.
