DAY 01 We will pick you up from your al 5:00 am. We will drive in our private transport to Mollepata (2800 masl). beautiful scenic journey through Limatambo, and stops for panoramic views of the Apurimac Valley, where you can have a breakfast in a typical restaurant. After that we ll drive for 1hr until our trailhead called Challacancha, there we ll meet our arrieros horsemen and unspoiled Andean villages to Soraypampa (3750 masl), where we will have the lunch. After lunch and a short rest, we hike up to the unforgettable Humantay Lake (4200 masl 13779 ft). This is a 5 km (3.1miles) round-trip which we will walk in a total of 3 hours. This place one of the most beautiful sights in all the Andes with unbelievable blue-green water reflecting the mountain glaciers of Apu Humantay Then we will get up to our first campsite, Soyrococha (4 200 masl). MAXIMUM ALTITUDE: 4200 masl MINIMUM ALTITUDE: 2850 masl Cusco Challacancha Soraypampa Humantay Lake Soyrococha DAY 02 The second day we will ascent to the highest point of our trek, Salkantay Pass 4650 mts from this point we can appreciate the special views of the Mountain Salkantay, a stunning snowcapped mountain (6271 mts), 3 hours walking with spectacular views of the mountains Humantay and Huayanay, small lakes and morraines arriving to our lunch site, Huayraqmachay (3700mts). We will enter the upper part of the jungle, which is also called the cloud forest. This is hike completed in 3 hours on a wide trail in the thick and magical tropical forest. During this part of the trek, you will notice a dramatic change in landscape and the earth s energy as we move from Andes to Jungle. At the end we ll go down to our second campsite, Collpapampa ( 2600 mts). DISTANCE TRAVELLED: 22 Km aprox. DAY 03 The third day, our group will walk for 4 hrs, downhill easy hike, we will be introduced to a high Jungle niche called Ceja de Selva where coffee, coca and fruits plantations can be observed, time to shower in a waterfall, take amazing pictures, with luck we could observe the famous Peruvian National Bird Gallito de las Rocas stop in Playa (2250 mts) for Lunch afternoon continue to our campsite Lucmabamba. DISTANCE TRAVELLED: 15 km MAXIMUM ALTITUDE: 2750 masl Collpapampa Playa Lucmabamba MINIMUM ALTITUDE: 2250 masl DAY 04 We will start our hike early morning from Lucmabamba, where we will start to go up until Llactapata, this is an small archeological place, after a well-deserved rest we start your descend towards Hidroelectrica, where our lunch will be waiting for us, enjoy it and then continue walking for two and a half more hours until Aguas Calientes (2 000 meters). DAY 05 Today we arrive at the long-awaited finale of our trek, one of the New 7 Wonders of the World Machu Picchu. We will wake up early to beat the crowds to the top of Machu Picchu and enter the hidden Royal Citadel of the Incas. Here we will have a 2-hour guided tour through this incredible ancient city to visit temples, terraces, palaces, priest s houses, the sundial and the farming fields. After this tour, you are free to climb up to Huayna Picchu or Machu Picchu Mountain (Be sure to book in advance to get tickets for these!). You will be able to stay and enjoy this magical city before get down to Aguas Calientes for the train ride (subject to availability) to Ollantaytambo. A private bus will pick up our group and drop you off at your hotel in Cusco.
