5 Achievements and Performance Membership The legacy of the London 2012 games and the gradual build up towards the 2014 Glasgow Commonwealth Games has raised the profile of gymnastics across the UK. This has resulted in an increased level of enquiries received from our local community. Despite the limitations of our training facility and available coaching hours we are delighted to have seen growth in our participation levels in this reporting year. Classes delivered over 7 days every week 8% growth in membership from April 2013 to April 2014 Increased training hours offered to some gymnasts from the competitive sections of the club 4 individuals benefited from supported places Recreational Section Recreational classes and holiday camps have flourished throughout the year 8% growth in membership from April 2013 to April 2014 Increase in the number of young volunteers assisting with classes Increase in the number of recreational members participating in our Annual Club Competition Increase in the number of participants in our Holiday Camps Competitive Sections Excellent competition results from all of our competitive sections belie the facility limitations currently available to us for the majority of training hours. The performance sections of the Club achieved excellent results during the year keeping our profile at the highest level within Scotland. Competition results for our beginner and intermediate gymnasts were equally impressive. These results foster enthusiasm and passion and inspire younger members to follow a sporting lifestyle. A minimum of 15 senior gymnasts benefited from subsidised travel and accommodation when attending competitions out with Scotland Reserves The charity's reserves funds that are freely available to meet the running costs of the club were at the close of business on 31 March This figure falls short 3 months operating costs, which amount to 24,384. The charity considers 3 this an appropriate level of reserves in order to cover timing differences between receipts and payments and to allow for any unexpected items of expenditure. Strategies will be put in place to increase our reserve figures over the next accountable year. 6

7 Independent Examiner's Report to the Trustees of West Lothian Artistic Gymnastics Club SCIO, registered charity number. I report on the financial statements of the charity for the period 10th April 2013 to 30th April 2014, which are set out on pages? to?. Respective responsibilities of Trustees and Examiner The charity's trustees are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the terms of the Charities and Trustee Investment (Scotland) Act 2005 ("the 2005 Act") and the Charities Accounts (Scotland) Regulations 2006 (as amended) ("the 2006 Regulations"). The charity's trustees consider that the audit requirement of Regulation 10(1) (d) of the 2006 Regulations does not apply. It is my responsibility to examine the accounts as required under section (44)(1) (c) of the 2005 Act and to state whether particular matters have come to my attention. Basis of Independent Examiner's Statement My examination is carried out in accordance with Regulation 11 of the 2006 Regulations. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts and seeks explanations from the trustees concerning any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit and, consequently, I do not express an audit opinion on the view given by the accounts. Independent Examiner's Statement In connection with my examination, no matter has come to my attention:- 1 which gives me reasonable cause to believe that, in any material respect, the requirements:- to keep accounting records in accordance with section 44(1 )(a) of the 2005 Act and Regulation 4 of the 2006 Regulations, and to prepare accounts which accord with the accounting records and comply with Regulation 9 of the 2006 Regulations have not been met, or 2 to which, in my opinion, attention should be drawn in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached. Signed C ^ Q - C ^ ^ ^ 14 November 2014 Catriona MacGregor 6/5 Ferry Road Grove Edinburgh EH4 4BG 7
