2 "I have been very impressed with the level of commitment and drive from everyone to make the week a success. I want to thank everyone who went above and beyond the call of duty. It is important that we maintain the efforts going forward. We hope your enthusiasm will continue as we aim to encourage more people to use our services. Chris Conway Group Chief Executive Translink s first ever Bus and Train Week was a great success! You made it all possible, supporting the huge level of activity across our network, celebrating public transport and getting more people to try our services. It was an important week for Translink and took such a team effort from employees in all divisions who got on board to help make us your first choice for travel. This campaign really helped us to build a positive image of Translink. We had lots of fun activities in stations and over 140,000 journeys were generated by Bus and Train Week activity. We also got involved with charity events and another highlight was the unveiling of our Metro Legends, revealing Hollywood actor Jamie Dornan and Ulster rugby star Rory Best. We have received fantastic feedback for Bus and Train Week, especially on social media with our passengers, partner organisations, councils, MLAs and staff tweeting their pictures and using the hash tag #GetonboardNI Thank you for sending in your Bus and Train Week photos, we ve put together this special edition of Expresslines with a roundup of the week, showcasing some of the activity across the network and in our stations; including flash mobs, school choirs, local radio stations broadcasting, dancing, local art installations, retailers sampling to name a few! Well done to everyone involved. SPECIAL EDITION Bus + Train Week Roundup You made it a success Bus and Train Week kicked off with our Metro Legends Jamie Dornan and Rory Best showcased on a unique double decker bus wrap - Chris Conway, Group Chief Executive, and Norman Maynes, Head of Business Development attended the unveiling at Belfast City Hall along with Metro staff, including Falls Depot staff who helped with the application EXPRESSLINES Special edition JUly 2016 is published by Translink, the integrated public transport services provided by Metro, NI Railways and Ulsterbus. 3 Encouraging young people to get on board Strabane Art Competition Translink s Paul Loughran encouraged pupils at Andrew's Memorial Primary School, Comber to #GetOnboardNI Bunscoil Mhuire agus Dhun Phadraig Award winning dancers from the Patricia Wilson School of Irish Dancing leapt onboard at Omagh Bus Station! 36 schools participated in the Translink Eco-Schools Travel Challenge with more than 1,100 pupils making an effort to walk, cycle, use the bus or train for the school run A rail enjoyable experience at Great Victoria Street Station for pupils from St Joseph's Primary School St Teresa's Primary School, Lurgan Christian Brother's Primary School, Armagh Gibson Primary School, Omagh Pupils from Clandeboye Primary School had bus-loads of fun in Bangor! 4 Retailers showed their support Translink s Sean Falls with Marcella from Belleek Living, Enniskillen who offered Translink passengers 20% off during Bus and Train Week Ballymena DōTerra SD Kells - Larne Boots Expressway Diner Omagh FF Fitness visited Foyle Street Bus Station to promote an active lifestyle and put staff and passengers through their paces! Translink s Richard Anderson, Susan O Neill and Damian Bannon visited The National Football Statium at Windsor Park to promote Metro Services Chris Conway, Group Chief Executive, with Kevin Bowes from Bowes Brothers, Omagh who offered Translink passengers 20% off during Bus and Train Week CS Sports in Larne had special offers for Translink passengers during Bus and Train Week Passengers across the network showed their support with #GetOnboardNI PAGE 6 PAGE 7

5 Spreading the word across the network St Eugene's Brass Band celebrated Bus & Train Week at the Oasis Plaza, Omagh Translink s Siobhan Dunphy got some young passengers onboard for Bus and Train Week at the Abbeycentre, Newtownabbey A sunny day at Belfast s Titanic Maritime Festival was the perfect opportunity for Translink staff to promote Bus and Train Week Lairds Jewellers, Omagh Tesco Newtownabbey partner offers Translink s Peter O Hare was joined by Mr Tayto to encourage people onboard!
