2 The Cleeve, as its name suggests, is set within the hillside in the Hawkcombe Valley and enjoys glorious views across playing fields to The Vale of Porlock. The village itself has an excellent range of convenience stores, gift shops, a library, primary school, church, several inns, playing fields with pavilion and a reputable health centre, and is famous for its picturesque weir and beach and steep hill. Minehead is found a few miles away, offering a good range of shops, sports facilities and both middle and senior schools.
