This is based on our company knowledge only, so please do not compare it with other countries such as France or Austria, as each destination has its own criteria. We have also listed the official category rating for each property. This will allow you to choose a hotel to suit your needs and budget. MONEY We recommend that you take Pounds Sterling or Euros with you to exchange into the local currency. If you do take cash, try not to carry large amounts of it around with you when you are on holiday, e.g. in a pocket, wallet or purse. Sterling travellers cheques are not widely accepted and do not receive as good an exchange rate as cash. Major credit and debit cards, such as Visa and Mastercard, are accepted for payment in some of the larger resorts and can be used to withdraw cash bank ATMs (this service may incur charges, please check with your bank). FOOD There are many culinary delights for you to enjoy ranging delicious local dishes to haute cuisine. All of the hotels we feature serve freshly prepared local dishes on a Half Board, Bed and Breakfast or All Inclusive basis. Where Balkan Holidays really comes out on top is with our pre-bookable ski and board packages. A lift pass in some of the French or Austrian resorts, for example, can be up to three or four times the cost of a pass in Bulgaria, and we are continuing our Free Lift Pass offer (see page 6). Compared to other destinations this makes for a big, big saving and is a vital consideration when you re planning your winter holiday. Our equipment hire and tuition prices are similarly competitive and great value too; please remember the prices in our brochure are lower than in the resort and only apply to clients who pre-book, so why not take advantage of it! First Time Ski/Board Pack For absolute beginners only, we ve put together in one package all you will need for your first week on snow at a special introductory price. Bulgaria is known for its high standards of tuition, and the instructors will ensure that everyone has a great time. First Time Ski or Board packs are available in all resorts in Bulgaria and in Kranjska Gora in Slovenia. Each pack includes the following: 6 day hire of skis or snowboard and boots 6 day lift pass SKI: 6 days of ski lessons, 4 hours per day (2 hours per day for Slovenia) BOARD: minimum 3 days of board lessons, 2 hours per day (see resort pages) Ski school test certificate and diploma presentation The First Time Ski & Snowboard packs are only applicable to beginners (first time skiers). 5 RESORT FINDER Bansko BEGINNERS A beginner is classified as someone who is taking their first steps on the slopes. There is a great temptation amongst a lot of beginners to try to move on as quickly as possible, but it s worth remembering that those who learn all the basics properly get far more enjoyment out of their holiday. INTERMEDIATES No two "Intermediates" will be the same, as the term covers a vast range of ability. All intermediates however should be at home on a blue (easy) run and confident enough on a red (medium) run. They will have had at least a couple of weeks in Ski School, and will be able to perform linked turns and reasonable parallel turns. We would strongly recommend some additional lessons with professional ski/snowboard instructors because there is still a lot to learn as wrong techniques and bad habits picked up at this stage are very hard to get rid of. ADVANCED An advanced skier/boarder will be at home on any terrain, be it on or off piste, and will always be in complete control. It is true to say that whilst none of the ski resorts featured in our brochure offer particularly extensive skiing, there is plenty to keep even an expert happy. Some of the most challenging ski runs you will find are in Bansko and Borovets. SNOWBOARDING We offer pre-booked hire and tuition for periods of 3 or 6 days in most resorts. If you ve never tried this sport before you ll be pleased to know it has a quick learning curve, although after your first try, you ll probably have picked up quite an interesting collection of aches and bruises. However don t give up, as by day two, having learnt the basic manoeuvres, you ll soon acquire the confidence and control to start getting to grips with the sport. Hire and tuition prices are so cheap you ve nothing to lose. RESORT GRADINGS On each resort introduction page you will find a grading for beginners, intermediates and experts. Our rating system will help identify how suitable each resort is for the different levels of ability based on the difficulty of the runs. A MODERN SKI RESORT AT A FRACTION OF THE PRICE Old meets new in the up and coming Bulgarian resort of Bansko, where modern hotels rise above little fortified houses. A unique town centre with its quaint cobbled streets, where you can still hear the local Bansko dialect being used, and an old clock tower, where the bell has been measuring the hours for over 150 years. Skiers of all abilities are well catered for as Bansko has over 75 kilometres of marked ski runs, which are easily accessed by the modern gondola lift. As the day draws to a close, après-ski is centred around the local Mehanas, friendly taverna type restaurants serving traditional Bulgarian cuisine and drinks, often with roaring log fires and live entertainment. PERFECT SKIING AND SNOWBOARDING In less than 20 minutes a fast gondola cable lift will take you to the modern ski centre, situated on the upper slopes. At the end of the day it is up to you to decide whether to return on the gondola or ski/board down the ski road, which marks Bansko as one of the few resorts in the world to offer this option. Bansko boasts having 90% of its slopes covered by snow cannons and these slopes are serviced by a number of chair lifts and drag lifts, including a four-man chair lift with bubble shields to protect you harsh weather conditions. Another attractive feature of this modern resort is the easy hands-free access to all lifts by SkiData chip-card ski passes. In addition to the on piste skiing, Bansko offers extreme winter sports fans a Fun Park full of artificial bumps and jumps. For those who do not have their own ski or snowboard gear, you can pre-book a choice of more than 2800 pairs of skis and more than 550 snowboards, all of which are the latest models by Atomic and Salomon. Last but by no means least, Bansko offers a unique 16km uninterrupted run starting Todorka Peak, the highest point in Bansko, with numerous pistes all the way down to the base station of the gondola lift. All the pistes are equipped with artificial snow machines to ensure a great skiing/boarding experience even in warmer conditions. At the end of the day there is a ski road that enables you to ski/board right into the town of Bansko. 11 Bulgaria BANSKO BEGINNERS Bansko is a great place for first-time skiers and snowboarders, with the ULEN ski-school having some of Bulgaria s best instructors, and the ULEN rent-a-ski offering the latest in ski and snowboard equipment. This, combined with the wide open and attractive nursery area, has made this resort the place where many have become enchanted with the magic of winter sports and why even more keep returning year after year. INTERMEDIATE An array of blue and red runs suitable for intermediate skiers & boarders makes this resort a very good choice for both those committed to becoming experts, as well as for those who take up winter sports merely as a recreational activity. The rare occurrence of queues designates Bansko as a smart choice for intermediate skiers and snowboarders. ADVANCED While some red runs and the Alberto Tomba black run should keep most experts busy, Bansko is probably more popular with experts for its great offerings of extreme and powder skiing. BEGINNERS The ski school at Pamporovo is internationally renowned, and is geared to provide the best possible start for beginners. There s tuition for four hours a day, six days a week, with ski fitting, class arranging, etc. The school meets in the Malina region, just a few minutes bus drive the centre of the resort. There are several drag lifts on the nursery slopes, but beginners will be heading for the higher slopes on the mountain long before the week is out. INTERMEDIATES The 38km of marked piste really suits the intermediate skier. The triple chairlift the Malina station to the top of Snezhanka peak can handle over 1,800 skiers an hour, which makes short work of any queues. Alternatively, a single chair runs to the middle station, where the four man lift runs up to the peak. ADVANCED Advanced skiers can take the drag lift the middle station which runs up the side of "The Wall". This is Pamporovo s most exciting run, difficult, steep with moguls, and there s an international slalom too. There are a few places where you can stay out until 4 in the morning at prices which are a lot less than you would expect to pay in a club back home. HOTEL MEALS The board arrangement for each hotel or holiday is clearly shown in the hotel description. Bed and breakfast denotes bed and continental breakfast usually a buffet selection. Half board denotes breakfast and evening meal; All Inclusive denotes breakfast, lunch, dinner including local non-alcoholic & alcoholic drinks, see hotel pages for full details. Self-catering accommodation is provided with a kitchenette. In some hotels all meals are served buffet style, and when this is known in advance it is detailed in the brochure. Please note however that our suppliers reserve the right to change the meal basis buffet style to table service or vice versa. The choice of meals for vegetarians Booking Conditions YOUR COMMITMENT TO US 1. Making A Booking And Payment At the time of booking you are required to pay either a deposit, if your booking is made more than 8 weeks before departure, or the full cost of the package holiday together with any pre-booked extras shown separately on your booking confirmation if you book within 8 weeks of departure, plus insurance premium if required. The value of the deposit will be 140 per person for all holidays, with the exception of those travelling to Slovenia and on certain flights to Bulgaria, when the deposit will be increased depending on the airline and will vary by departure. The deposit is required for all persons who are two years of age and over at the time of return the holiday; no deposit is payable for infants. When you make your booking you guarantee that you have the authority to accept the terms of these booking conditions on behalf of your party. As soon as the booking has been made, payment card authorisation for the deposit, or full payment if booking within 8 weeks of departure, will be cleared. We will then issue a confirmation invoice whereby a contract exists between us, and all conditions became binding on us both. If you book through one of our authorised travel agents, all monies paid to the agent in respect of a contract with an ATOL holder is at all times held by the agent on behalf of the ATOL holder (pipeline monies). No employee of this company has the right to vary these booking conditions. Your contract with Balkan Holidays is governed by English law and is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales. Any reference to a package holiday is a reference to a package as set out in the Package Travel, Package Holidays and Package Tours Regulations The person making the booking not only guarantees payment to us of the total cost of the holiday booked, but does so on behalf of and with the consent of all persons for whom the booking is completed. Payment by credit card for your holiday will incur a charge of 2% for each transaction. The balance of the holiday cost must be paid no later than 8 weeks before departure. If the deposit or balance is not received by the due date, we reserve the right to treat the booking as cancelled by you and levy cancellation charges as laid out under condition number 3. Your contract is with Balkan Holidays Ltd, trading as Balkan Holidays, a member of ABTA (member No. V089X) and licensed by the Civil Aviation Authority (ATOL No. 0252). If the confirmation invoice is not exactly in accordance with your request, and / or the costing is incorrect, please notify us at once. If such notification is not received within 14 days of issue, we regret that it may harm your rights if we are not notified of any inaccuracies within 14 days of issuing your confirmation invoice. If or those requiring other special diets is limited, usually restricted to salads and omelettes. Special meals on the aircraft may not be provided by all carriers. If a special diet is essential for you, we may have to decline your booking. Please also remember that meals for infants are paid for locally. HEALTH MATTERS A Department of Health leaflet (ref T4) "A Travellers Guide to Health" is available free your doctor, travel agent, or by phoning free phone At the moment, certain vaccinations or inoculation may be recommended (although are not compulsory) for the countries featured in this brochure. Nonetheless, regulations are subject to change, and passengers are reminded that they are responsible for complying with entry and health requirements for all countries they intend to visit. Also, in some foreign countries general standards of hygiene, safety, public services and efficiency may differ those in the UK, and changes in climate, diet and food preparation may lead to incidents of stomach upsets. Please therefore exercise greater care for your own protection and health in matters of hygiene and choice of food and drink. All the resorts we feature in Slovenia and Bulgaria have well equipped polyclinics. Charges for first aid, treatment courses and medication can be substantial, and in the event of you requiring medical treatment during your holiday, it is a condition of your holiday contract you have adequate insurance. A Winter Holiday Guide will be provided upon request or can be downloaded the link on your e-ticket. Your Safety - We have taken all reasonable care to make sure all aspects of your holiday run smoothly, and your safety and welfare whilst your are on holiday are no exception. We endeavour to make sure your accommodation and other services are provided by reputable suppliers. These suppliers should follow the local and national standards of the country where they are provided. Safety Standards: Safety standards can and do vary one country to another, and may not be the same as those which can be found in the UK. We therefore recommend that on arrival at your accommodation, please take time to familiarise yourself with the layout of the property. Take particular notice of the fire safety instructions and emergency procedures. These should be posted at reception or in your room. If these are not present, please ask at reception. Swimming Pool: In most destinations, it is not a requirement to have a dedicated lifeguard in your holiday accommodation. It is therefore important that you and your party take the time to familiarise yourselves with the pool and pool area. We ask that you are extra vigilant when travelling with children and that they are accompanied by an adult at all times whilst swimming. Please take a moment to familiarise yourself with local regulations and swimming conditions. Children s Safety: Balconies, lifts and swimming pools are just some of the areas accidents can occur when children are not properly supervised by their parents or legal guardians. We take reasonable care to make sure standards are as high as possible; however, before using any facilities provided for children, e.g. cots, we ask that you satisfy yourself that they are in good condition and up to the safety standards you would expect. Personal Safety: Although crime rates are low, as with any destination, tourists need to be extra vigilant when venturing into resort. This is most important in areas where large crowds of people may gather. Remember to keep valuables out of sight, or better still, most hotels will offer a safety deposit box for your peace of mind. Excursion Safety: Our agents take all reasonable care and work closely with respected excursion providers to make sure the excursions they offer are safe and enjoyable and in accordance with local standards. However, your contract for any excursion booked in resort is with the excursion provider not Balkan the price shown on the invoice is incorrect compared to the applicable price, this will be deemed a mistake. We will be entitled to cancel or amend the booking and re-invoice at the correct price. We will have the right to rectify any mistake up to 56 days before departure. If your booking was made less than 56 days before departure, we will have the right to do so up to 14 days before departure. Ski Services can not be booked less than 7 working days before departure*. Should you book through a travel agent, any advice given to you by your travel agent which is not based on the advice given by us to them is their responsibility. 2. Pre-Bookable Ski & Snowboard Packs All elements of ski packs whether purchased separately or together do not form part of your package holiday. The Booking Conditions included in this section together with the description of the pre-bookable Ski Pack Items contained in the general information contained in this brochure, form the basis of your agreement with the Ski Pack Service Providers. All information in our brochure has been supplied by the Service Providers and we do not accept any responsibility for any errors or omissions on their part. All Service Providers have agreed that these Booking Conditions form the basis of your contract with the Service Provider for the purchase of the Ski Pack items but reserve the right to add other conditions or vary these conditions as they may feel necessary. Where this occurs, we will notify you of any other conditions or variations to these Booking Conditions. These Booking Conditions also specify the basis on which we promote the Service and manage your booking and in particular how we act on behalf of the Service Providers as an agent. Please read them carefully as they explain the respective rights and obligations of all concerned. When we issue you with a written confirmation on behalf of the Service Provider this confirms that the Service Provider has entered into a contract with you, which is subject to these booking conditions (and any other conditions introduced by the Service Provider) and the Service Provider s terms and conditions. We will take payment you on behalf of the Service Provider. The Service Provider reserves the right to refuse any booking before or after the issue of your written confirmation, even if monies have been paid. In the unlikely event they do so, they will endeavour to offer you an alternative service. Where the alternative option is acceptable, the money you have already paid will then be attributed towards the cost. We will send your written confirmation either by post or by , as requested. It is your responsibility to check your s regularly and advise us of any change to your address. As soon as you receive your Holidays and you will be bound by the actual providers terms and conditions. Should you choose to organise your own excursions or activities it is your responsibility to satisfy yourself that your insurance covers you for that activity. Foreign Office Travel Advice For the latest travel advice the Foreign & Commonwealth Office please check gov.uk/travelaware and and Facebook.com/FCOtravel. Alternatively you can contact ABTA s Travel Information line on (calls are charged at 50 pence per minute). If you are travelling within Europe, ensure you have a European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) that hasn t expired - you still need full travel insurance! For your free EHIC card visit nhs.uk/ehic. To learn about the laws, customs and entry requirements of the country you re visiting, check gov.uk/foreign-travel-advice. Check your passport is valid and make sure you have all necessary visas. Make copies of important travel documents, take a picture of them and/or store them online using a secure data storage site. Research vaccinations or any other medical requirements, and if necessary visit a travel health clinic or your GP at least six weeks before you travel, visit travelhealthpro.org.uk. Tell someone where you re going and leave emergency contact details. Take enough money with you and have access to emergency funds. Understand what consular staff can and can t do to help British nationals travelling overseas. Resort Development and Noise: If we are informed of any building works at or close to your accommodation that may affect the enjoyment of your holiday, we will do our best to forewarn about it prior to your departure. Please note that such works may not be carried out by the providers of accommodation featured in our brochure, and may be outside of their control. We would urge you to read the resort and hotel descriptions carefully to identify sources of noise which exist or might expect to exist, i.e. roads, bars, discos, etc. However, it is impossible to predict noise created by individuals, machinery or traffic, i.e. temporary noise disturbances. Live music/noise bars which are adjacent or part of any properties we feature may extend their opening hours and opening times may differ those published. EARLY AND LATE SEASON HOLIDAYS Our prices show especially good holiday value early and late in the season. However, as you would expect, not all hotels, resort facilities, restaurants, night clubs and children's activities may be available at these times due to poor weather conditions and/or lack of support. Local suppliers reserve the right, subject to weather and visitors in resort, to either withdraw or reduce the services provided. This could be due to cleaning, renovation or as a result of local conditions and Balkan Holidays cannot be held responsible. Please also note that alternative hotels (of the same category to those booked or higher) may be provided without notice when the resorts are not full, or on occasion at other times. CURTAILMENTS Should you need to curtail your holiday, we will provide reasonable assistance. Curtailments require the assistance of your insurance company and they should be advised immediately. It may not be possible to return to your original UK Airport and Balkan Holidays cannot be liable for any onward transfers. Flights to return early will be at the terms and conditions of carriage of the airline in question, dependent on availability and applicable charges payable. Balkan Holidays can only assist with flight arrangements on its own charter flights, curtailment fee of 75 is applicable. confirmation, you should check the details carefully. If anything is not correct you must advise straight away. We reserve the right to charge an amendment fee to put right any error by you or where you fail to inform us of any error within 14 days of receipt. If your balance of payment is not received by the due date, we on the behalf of Service Providers are permitted to treat your booking as cancelled by you and cancellation charges will be payable in line with the typical cancellation charges set out below. Cancellation charges vary depending on the number of days before your arrival date that notification of the cancellation is received by us in writing and are set by the Service Provider you have booked with. For cancellation of ski / snowboard extras a charge will apply, please see "Guide to Our Charges" on page 64. Should you cancel your pre-booked service, cancellation fees will be imposed by the Service Provider. The charges set out in the typical charges are the standard charges set but you should be aware that some Service Providers may levy a different charge. Any difference the standard typical charges set out above will be notified to you by the Service Provider. The Management of the ski resorts reserve the right to host ski competitions throughout the season without prior notification. This may result in one or more ski slopes or ski lifts being unavailable. Many hotels have storage room for own ski/snowboard equipment. Storage booked locally in the hotel may be in unsupervised room and subject to local charge where applicable. 3. If You Change Your Booking Should you wish to alter any part of your holiday arrangements please inform us in writing and confirm receipt. You must ensure all names and details are entered correctly at the time of booking. You will receive an invoice once your booking is confirmed and must contact us straight away if there is something that you need to correct, or if you don t receive an invoice within 7 days of confirming your booking. Amendments to correct passenger name misspelling will be free of charge within 14 days of booking if there are more than 35 days until your departure date. If there are 35 days or less to your departure date you must correct misspelling within 2 days of booking to avoid being charged an amendment fee. We charge an Amendment Fee for each detail of your booking we allow you to change, please see the table below. Please note that major changes, including but not limited to, travelling later than planned, changes which lower the basic price of your holiday, change of all names on the booking and changes which result in your holiday ceasing to be a Package Holiday will be treated as a Book online at 63

64 cancellation and incur the appropriate charges in line with section 4. Please note that scheduled, certain charter and all of the no-frills airlines do not permit changes for any reason. Such changes will result in you being charged the full cost of the flight and may be subject to space being available for a new reservation. Additionally, you will also have to pay any extra costs that the airline passes onto us, as well as the appropriate name change fee. Re-issued e-tickets are charged at 15 per person. When changing your holiday details, the price of your new travel arrangements will be based on the price that applies on the date you make the change. These prices may not be the same as when you first made your booking. Some of the accommodation is priced according to the number of people staying there. If your party size changes, we will recalculate your booking cost based on the new number of people going. If fewer people share the accommodation then the price per person may go up. This extra cost isn t a cancellation charge and isn t normally covered by insurance. Cancellation or part cancellation of ski extras will incur fees as detailed below, and no alterations to ski extras are accepted by ski service providers within 21 days of travel. Ski extras may not be added less than 7 working days before departure and will have to be purchased direct in resort upon arrival. Not applicable for scheduled & low cost airline tickets. Please call our Reservations Department for more details. Any cancellation should be notified by recorded delivery letter, by or by fax. We can accept no responsibility for cancellation charges arising correspondence delayed or lost in the mail. It is the sender s responsibility to ensure that we have received the letter/fax/ . We strongly recommend that you take out our holiday insurance, which may cover your cancellation charges as well as many other holiday contingencies. Details of the cover offered are printed on page 66 of this brochure. The relevant premium must be paid together with the deposit. Where extra facilities or transport options are non-refundable, in part or in full, the cost of these will be added to the cancellation charge you have to pay. If you booked using Low deposit offer the full deposit amount as per section 1 will need to be paid upon cancellation. If you want to cancel 1 or more passengers on the booking you will have to pay a proportion of the applicable cancellation charge for those passengers. If We Cancel Your Holiday Occasionally, it may prove necessary for us to cancel holiday arrangements, e.g. lack of support making the holiday economically non-viable (all our holidays operate subject to a minimum number of participants), which we must reserve the right to do. If we have to do so, other than due to your default in payment, we will offer you the choice of purchasing an alternative holiday of comparable standard, if available (and paying or receiving a refund in respect of any price difference), or a full refund of all money paid to us. In addition, if we are forced to cancel less than eight weeks before departure, except for reasons of force majeure (see below), we will pay you compensation in accordance with the table set out in clause 6 below. In all cases our liability is limited to the payment set out in the compensation table and we regret we cannot be responsible for any expenses or losses you may incur as a result of any cancellation. Very rarely, we may be forced to curtail holiday arrangements due to circumstances amounting to force majeure as defined below. In this very unusual situation, we regret we cannot pay any compensation or make any refunds (except where these are obtained any supplier) or meet any costs or losses you may incur as a result. 6. If We Change Your Booking It is unlikely that we will have to make any changes to your travel arrangements, but we do plan the arrangements many months in advance. Occasionally, we may have to make changes and we reserve the right to do 64 Reservations so at any time. Most of these changes will be minor and we will advise you or your travel agent of them at the earliest possible date. We also reserve the right in any circumstances to cancel your travel arrangements. For example, if the minimum number of clients required for a particular travel arrangement is not reached, we may have to cancel it. However, we will not cancel your travel arrangements less than 8 weeks before your departure date, except for reasons of force majeure or unusual circumstances we could not have foreseen or failure by you to pay the final balance. If we are unable to provide the booked travel arrangements, except in the case of a minor change, you can either have a refund of all monies paid or accept an offer of alternative travel arrangements of comparable standard us, if available (we will refund any price difference if the alternative is of a lower value). If it is necessary to cancel your travel arrangements, we will pay to you compensation as set out in this clause. In accordance with EU Regulation 2111/2005 we are required to advise you of the actual carrier operating your flight / connecting flight / transfer. We do this by listing carriers to be used or likely to be used as follows: Bulgaria Air, BH Air, Norwegian, Enterair, Jet2, Tarom, Easyjet, Wizzair as possible and in all cases at check-in or at the boarding gate. Any changes to the actual airline after you have received your tickets will be notified to you as soon as possible and in all cases at check-in or at the boarding gate. Such a change is deemed to be a minor change. Other examples of minor changes include alteration of your outward / return flights by less than 12 hours, changes to aircraft type, changes of departure / arrival airport between Heathrow, Gatwick, Stansted and Luton or Plovdiv and Sofia, and vice versa, change of accommodation to another of the similar standard. If we make a major change to your holiday, we will inform you or your travel agent as soon as reasonably possible, if there is time before your departure. You will have the choice of either accepting the change of arrangements, accepting an offer of alternative travel arrangements of comparable standard us, if available and at the applicable price (we will refund any price difference if the alternative is of a lower value), or cancelling your booked holiday and receiving a full refund of all monies paid. Force Majeure: This means that we will not pay you compensation if we have to cancel or change your travel arrangements in any way because of unusual or unforeseeable circumstances beyond our control. These can include, for example, war, riot, industrial dispute, terrorist activity and its consequences, natural or nuclear disaster, fire, adverse weather conditions, significant building work ongoing outside of your accommodation, technical problems with transport, including changes due to rescheduling or cancellation of flights by an airline or alteration of the airline or aircraft type for reasons beyond our control, closed or congested airports. 7. The Costs Of Your Holiday We reserve the right to increase or decrease the prices of any of the package holidays shown in our brochure before you book and to publish further editions. You will be advised of the current price of the holiday that you wish to book before your contract is confirmed. The price of your travel arrangements was calculated using exchange rates quoted in the Financial Times Guide to World Currencies on in relation to the following currencies: Euro. Changes in transportation costs, including the cost of fuel, dues, taxes or fees chargeable for services, such as landing taxes or embarkation or disembarkation fees at ports and airports and exchange rates, mean that the price of your travel arrangements may change after you have booked. However there will be no change to transportation costs within 30 days of your departure. We will absorb and you will not be charged for any increase equivalent to 2% of the price of your travel arrangements, which excludes insurance premiums and any amendment charges. You will be charged for the amount over and above that, plus an administration charge of 1.00 per person, together with an amount to cover agents commission. If this means that you have to pay an increase of more than 10% of the price of your travel arrangements, you will have the option of accepting a change to another holiday if we are able to offer one (if this is of equivalent or higher rating you will not have to pay more but if it is of lower rating you will be refunded the difference in price), or cancelling and receiving a full refund of all monies paid, except for any amendment charges. We will consider an appropriate refund of insurance premiums paid if you can show that you are unable to transfer or reuse your policy. Should you decide to cancel for this reason, you must exercise your right to do so within 14 days the issue date printed on your final invoice. Should the price of your holiday go down due to the changes mentioned above, by more than 2% of your holiday cost, then any refund due will be paid to you. However, please note that travel arrangements are not always purchased in local currency and some apparent changes have no impact on the price of your travel, due to contractual and other protection in place. 8. If You Have A Complaint If you have a problem during your holiday, please inform the relevant supplier (e.g. your hotelier) and our resort representative immediately who will endeavour to put things right. If your complaint is not resolved locally, please follow this up within 28 days of your return home by writing to our Customer Services Department at Balkan Holidays LTD, Sofia House, 19 Conduit Street, London, W1S 2BH, giving your booking reference and all other relevant information. Please keep your letter concise and to the point. It is strongly recommended that you communicate any complaint to the supplier of the services as well as to our representative without delay and complete a Guest Comments Form whilst in resort. If you fail to follow this simple procedure we will have been deprived of the opportunity to investigate and rectify your complaint whilst you were in resort and this may affect your rights under this contract. There may be times when the local representative, agent or staff member is unable to resolve your complaint immediately. Whilst we appreciate this may be frustrating, we do expect you to act in a reasonable manner towards our staff and we will take action against anyone who displays intimidating or threatening behaviour. Balkan Holidays LTD cannot accept liability in respect of any claims or complaints which are not notified to ourselves and any supplier involved entirely in accordance with this clause. We have no control over the behaviour of persons staying or visiting your holiday accommodation (including persons who have themselves booked through Balkan Holidays) & we are not responsible for any withdrawal or impairment of facilities or other loss or damage caused by them. 9. Fraudulent Claims It is our policy to deal with any valid complaints appropriately and to compensate where appropriate. We are aware that holidaymakers are being encouraged to make false or exaggerated complaints particularly in connection with holiday illness. We are committed to the detection and prevention of fraudulent claims in the interests of our customers and to keep the cost of our holidays as low as possible. We work closely with fraud detection investigators and should we find any dishonest or exaggerated claims, we will not hesitate to take legal action to recover any compensation paid. It is a criminal offence to make a dishonest claim and we may refer such claims to the police for their investigation. Gastric Illness Holiday illness is surprisingly common and may be caused by a variety of factors such as a change in diet, climate and environment. Should you become ill whilst on holiday, you must tell our representative and your hotel. Our representative will assist you to see a local doctor for the right diagnosis and appropriate treatment. On your return to the UK, you must also make a follow up visit as early as possible with your local GP. You must also grant us authority to have access to your medical records in relation to any gastric illness you suffered whilst on holiday. Any failure on your part to follow the above-mentioned procedure may reduce or extinguish any rights you have to claim compensation us where you feel that your illness was the result of any food or drink you consumed at your hotel as you will have denied us the opportunity to carry out a full and proper investigation. 10. ABTA We are a Member of ABTA, membership number V089X and adhere to ABTA s Code of Conduct. We can offer you an arbitration scheme for the resolution of disputes arising out of this contract. The scheme is arranged by ABTA and administered independently. It is a simple and inexpensive method of arbitration based on documents with restricted liability on costs. The upper limit on claims is 5,000 per person and 25,000 per booking form. The scheme doesn t apply to claims which are solely in respect of personal injury. It can deal with claims which include an element of minor injury or illness subject to a limit of 1,500 per person. Your request for arbitration must be received by ABTA within eighteen months of the date of return holiday. The ABTA Conciliation Scheme for Injury & Sickness Claims The scheme is a method of resolving disputes between ABTA members and their customers related to injury claims. The Scheme is administered by the Centre for Effective Dispute Resolution ( CEDR ). It can be used to settle a dispute which is about injury or sickness and the redress sought by the customer does not exceed 10, Both the customer and member must agree to participate in the Scheme and the application must be submitted to ABTA within eighteen months of completion of the return journey. The fee for the conciliation will be paid by the ABTA Member. Further information on ABTA s assistance in resolving disputes can be found on Our Liability To You (I). We accept responsibility for the package travel arrangements which we agree to provide or arrange for you prior to your holiday as an organiser under the Package Travel, Package Holidays and Package Tours Regulations 1992 as set out below. Subject to these conditions, if we or our suppliers perform or arrange your contracted package holiday negligently, taking into account all relevant factors (e.g. the procedures set out in the complaints procedure as set out in section 7 and the extent to which our or our employees or suppliers negligence affected the overall enjoyment of your holiday), we will pay you appropriate compensation, if this has affected the enjoyment of your holiday arrangements. We also accept responsibility for what our employees, agents and suppliers do or do not do, providing they were at the time acting within the scope of their employment. Please note that we will not be liable for any injury, illness or death or consequent losses suffered by you or any member of your party unless you are able to prove that such injury or illness or death was caused by lack of reasonable care and skill on the part of ourselves or our suppliers in the performance of our obligations under our contract with you. And in all claims of whatever nature we will not be liable where the alleged loss or damage results any of the following; (a) the fault of the person(s) affected or any member(s) of their party or (b) the fault of a third party not connected with the provision of your holiday which we could not have predicted or avoided or (c) an event or circumstances which we or the supplier of the service(s) in question could not have predicted or avoided even after taking all reasonable care (d) the fault of anyone who was not carrying out work for us (generally or in particular) at the time. (II). In respect of travel by air, sea and rail, the extent of our liability will in all cases be limited as if we were carriers in accordance with the limitation of damage provisions under the appropriate Conventions, which include The Warsaw / Montreal Conventions (international travel by air); The Athens Convention (with respect to sea travel); The Berne / Cotif Convention (with respect to rail travel) and The Paris Convention (with respect to accommodation arrangements). You can ask for copies of these international conventions our offices at Sofia House, 19 Conduit Street, London W1S 2BH, telephone number (III). Subject to our reasonable discretion, we will provide advice, guidance and initial financial assistance with legal costs in bringing an action against a third party to any client who, through misadventure, suffers death, illness or injury during their holiday arising out of an activity which does not form part of their holiday arrangements or excursion offered through our representatives or agents. All assistance, financial or otherwise, is subject to a limit of 5,000

In addition, we shall be entitled to recoup any costs we actually incur you in the event of a suitable insurance policy being in force or a successful claim for costs being made against any third party. (iv). Prompt assistance in resort. If the contract we have with you is not performed or is improperly performed as a result of failures attributable to a third party unconnected with the provision of the services, or as a result of failures due to unusual and unforeseeable circumstances beyond our control, the consequences of which could have been avoided even if due care had been exercised, or an event which we or our suppliers, even with all due care, could not foresee or forestall, and you suffer an injury or other material loss, we will offer you such prompt assistance as is reasonable in the circumstances. (v). In all cases except where personal injury, illness or death results, our liability is limited in total to twice the package holiday price of the persons affected. (vi). In addition, we will not be liable for (i) where you do not enjoy your holiday or suffer any problems due to something about which you did not tell us when you booked your holiday and where the problems you experienced do not arise any breach of contract or other fault of ourselves, our suppliers or agents (ii) where any losses, expenses, costs or other sum you have experienced relate to any business. (vii). Please note we cannot accept responsibility for any services which do not form part of our package holiday contract. This includes for instance any additional services or facilities which your hotel may provide you which do not form part of your holiday package. GENERAL CONDITIONS AND INFORMATION 12. Purpose Of Travel All arrangements shown in this brochure are intended solely for leisure purposes and our negotiations with the various overseas authorities have been conducted on this basis. Due to this and the regulations governing the issue of visas, it is not normally possible to use these holidays for the purpose of business or attending conventions or congresses. Should you wish to travel for reasons other than leisure, please advise us of your requirements. Our Independent Travel Department will be very pleased to help you and can be contacted on Hotels And Resorts Where particular reference is made to accommodation categories, these are part of a classification system officially recognised in the country concerned. Please remember that there is no International standard, and therefore variation does exist one country to another. This is basic and no-frills, but good value for money. You will not have a TV or phone and rooms and bathrooms tend to be small. Perfect for the valueconscious skiers. This is standard accommodation with in-house facilities. Rooms generally have both a TV and phone. Please read through the descriptions carefully, as some properties have better rooms with fewer facilities and vice versa. and Modern hotels with a wide range of facilities. Rooms and bathrooms are more spacious and well-equipped, and the hotel is usually conveniently located to the local resort amenities. If comfort and convenience are just as important as the skiing, go for this standard of accommodation! Certain hotels fall between two categories: here we have added a plus to aid your decision-making. Self-catering apartments have a kitchenette with 2-3 hot plates (not oven), fridge and are basically equipped, with cutlery, crockery, etc. Some apartments store kitchen utilities at the reception and are available upon request. Bed linen and bath towels are provided. Cleaning before your arrival is included. The extra bed is usually a convertible sofa bed (camp bed) for 1 or 2 persons in the living room. It can be replaced by a baby cot but the rooms can not take both. Baby cots are not available for hire in most of the apartments, but you can take your own travel cot. Some apartments require a holding deposit upon arrival which will be refunded in full at check out, minus the cost of any breakages that may occur during your holiday. Important: Often descriptions of hotels and resorts include the mention of sports and entertainment, but the availability of these and other amenities can sometimes be influenced by weather conditions and the number of visitors - particularly at the beginning and end of the season. RESORT DEVELOPMENT AND NOISE Construction works and noise are almost unavoidable in certain developing resorts. Unfortunately such developments are not under our control. It is possible that there may be building work in the vicinity of your holiday accommodation, or in the resort area. As is the custom, work may start early in the day. Unfortunately, it is not always possible to foresee the nature and extent of such work, so please bear with us over these problems, as after all they are being done for the ultimate benefit of holidaymakers. If we are informed of any building works at or close to your accommodation that may affect the enjoyment of your holiday, we will do our best to forewarn you about it prior to your departure. Please note that such works may not be carried out by the providers of accommodation featured in our brochure, and maybe outside of their control. We would urge you to read the resort and hotel descriptions carefully to identify sources of noise which exist or might expect to exist, i.e. roads, bars, discos, etc. However, it is impossible to predict noise created by individuals, machinery or traffic, i.e. temporary noise disturbances. Live music/ noise bars which are adjacent or part of any properties we feature may extend their opening hours and opening times may differ those published. In some resorts, the provision of roads, power and water supplies etc. does not always keep pace with the demands of rapid tourist development, so you may experience power cuts or problems with, for example, plumbing or drainage. In addition, during prolonged periods of hot weather the resort authorities sometimes find it necessary to conserve water supplies by implementing a "regime" with intermittent interruptions to supply. However, they always do their best to give advance notice of such interruptions and minimise inconvenience to holidaymakers. 14. Accommodation All our prices are based on sharing twin or double-bedded rooms or four bedded chalets, studios or apartments. Single room supplements are shown under the holiday descriptions. Some accommodation can take an extra occasional bed to accommodate a third person. This will be the camp bed or sofa type, and will be more suited to a child than an adult. Where an extra bed is added this may limit the available space. The extra bed can be replaced by a cot for an infant, but rooms cannot take both. Cot charges must be paid locally. We do, however, have some larger twins which can accommodate a third adult. Whenever family rooms are available, the appropriate supplement is shown. This type of accommodation normally consists of a double bedroom and open plan adjoining sitting room. The extra beds will be either sofa or camp bed type. Some furniture may be substituted for the extra beds. These rooms are ideal for families with young children. Checking In & Checking Out - Times vary slightly resort to resort, but generally are as follows: check-in 14:00 (on occasion, it may be later); check-out on the last day of your holiday is 10:00 in apartments and midday in hotels. In some cases you may have to wait to access your accommodation depending on your flight arrival time or have several hours before your homeward flight departs. Wherever possible a room will be made available for changing and storing luggage. Sometimes a hotel may let you keep your room (arrange in resort) at a local charge. This is not normally possible with apartments. Bathrooms - A typical bathroom is small and consists of a toilet, a basin and a shower with no curtain or tray, and a central drain in the floor. This is normal! If you need a larger bathroom we suggest choosing a 4 or 5 star property and booking a room with a bath. All rooms with bath have a shower over the bath. Lifts - If a hotel offers lift facilities, be aware that it may be withdrawn time to time for essential maintenance work. Please note that the withdrawal of such facilities is outside of our direct control. Many lifts offered may commence on a floor other than ground level and may be reached by stairs. Wi-Fi - Where Wi-Fi or internet access is indicated in a property description, this belongs to the property and its availability is outside our control. No guarantee is given or implied that it will be operative during your holiday, you will not be advised in advance if this facility is removed and no compensation or refund will be paid if it is not available for whatever reason. Important: If circumstances beyond our control make it necessary, we reserve the right, sometimes without prior notification, to provide accommodation on your arrival in the holiday centre in an alternative hotel of the class confirmed to you or higher. This is particularly likely for early and late departures when not all the resort hotels are open. If we are aware of such changes before your departure we shall inform your travel agent, or yourself in the case of a direct booking. This will not affect your rights under this contract. 15. Flight Only Bookings Where you have booked a flight only, we will be acting only as the booking agent for the airlines providing the flight and therefore accept no liability whatsoever for any death, personal injury, loss or damage of whatever kind, unless caused by our own negligence. Our suppliers have their own conditions of carriage / booking conditions, and you will be bound by these. Please see section 11 for details of the relevant conventions which could apply. Note, time to time delays do occur. As booking agent for the airline concerned, we are not obliged to provide meals / refreshments, however where possible, we shall try to make sure refreshments are provided by the airline concerned. You should always check whether your insurance policy covers you against flight delays. See page 62 for more details on flight delays. 16. Lost Luggage In the unlikely event that your luggage is lost, damaged or interfered with whilst in transit with the airline, it is necessary that you obtain and fill out a PIR (Property Irregularity Report) form BEFORE you leave the airport building. You should take a copy of this for your records. You will also need to keep your airline tickets and the luggage sticker received at the check-in desk. If you fail to obtain a PIR form, the airline will not accept responsibility for any loss or damage and insurers may not accept a subsequent claim. 17. Ski Boots If you require boot size 11 or over it is recommended you purchase your own boots prior to departure as these may not be available in the resort. 18. Insurance Insurance is obligatory, either through us or another company (see page 66 for details). 19. Kids Rulebook 1. All discounts shown are for children 2-11 inclusive on the date of return holiday. Some hotels in Bulgaria offer discounts for children up to 13 years and some apartments up to 16 years (please check hotel pages for applicable ages). 2. Discounts are the basic holiday cost. All supplements (flights, room facilities etc.) are payable in full by all passengers. Those granted free places do not pay a flight supplement. In villas, studios and apartments, the adult price underoccupancy supplements are based on the number of full fare paying adults. 3. When children share a twin room with two adults, they use bunks or extra "occasional beds". (These are not full size and are of the camp bed variety). 4. Only the first and second child receive a reduction. Any further children pay the full price. 5. Free child places are available on charter flights to Bulgaria only. 6. Should you change your holiday, free child places for your new holiday will be subject to availability. 7. Free child places can not be used in conjunction with any other offer. 8. We do not accept bookings on any of our charter flights for children unaccompanied by adults if the children are under 18 years on the date of outward travel. 9. Infants: a) Infants under 2 years old pay only on all flights (except on scheduled flights, please check at the time of booking), but they do not receive a separate seat on the aircraft or meal in the resort. Necessary expenses, such as cot and meal charges, are paid directly to the hotel; b) To be classified as infants children must be under 2 years of age on the date of return the holiday, not just on the date of departure the UK; c) Twin rooms are not usually large enough to take an extra bed and a full size cot as well. You can take a folding carrycot however, as long as you accept that the room will be rather cramped. For families with small children, we recommend a family room, which normally consists of a double bedroom and an open plan sitting room. Baby cots are not available in most of the self-catering apartments and the apartments are not big enough to take a cot on top of the maximum occupancy as per the hotel description; d) There is no holiday deposit payable for infants; e) The luggage allowance is 10 kg per infant (charter flights only). 20. Free places apply to the basic holiday price, not on accommodation supplements, flights supplement, extra facilities or insurance. 4. All group members must be named on the same booking reference. 5. A full and final name and ski pack list must be received in our office 10 weeks before departure. 6. A full deposit is required for each person travelling, including free place travellers. 7. If cancellation of a group member results in the group size falling below the required number, the reductions will be altered accordingly, and any price increase necessitated by accommodation underoccupancy will be levied. 8. In villas, studios and apartments the adult price and underoccupancy supplements are based on the number of full fare paying adults. 9. Group free places can not be used in conjunction with any brochured or advertised offer and with online discount or late deals. 22. Passports, Visas And Travel Advice It is a customer s responsibility to be in possession of a full ten year valid passport and necessary visas. Balkan Holidays or the airlines may refuse travel if you do not have the correct documents. Your passport and travel documents must be intact and you may not be able to travel if they are damaged. Information in this section is valid for British citizens only. Non British citizens should consult the Embassy of your destination country to check whether a visa is required. Every passenger will need a valid 10 year British passport. For stays of up to 3 months your passport should be valid for the proposed duration of your stay; you do not need any additional period of validity on your passport beyond this. Please contact the embassy of your destination country for the latest and most up-to-date information or visit the official page for your destination at Clients holding British subject passports should also contact the Embassy of their destination country for visa information. If you need to apply for a new or replacement passport, be sure to leave plenty of time for the passport office to process your application: there can be delays at busy travel times. The name on the passport must match the name on the ticket. If the passport and ticket do not match, you may not be able to travel and your insurance policy may be invalid. It is not necessary for European Union citizens to obtain visas before departure on these pre-booked inclusive holidays, but you should take your holiday confirmation invoice with you in case the reason for your visit is requested at the airport on arrival. Visas may be required for persons booked through our independent Travel Department and for persons who are not citizens of a member state of the European Union; please ask our agent at the time of booking. Passports for children - All children up to 16, including new-born babies, need their own passport to travel to Bulgaria. All children aged 16 and over must also hold their own individual passports. For further information please contact the UK passport office on Carriers Liability This brochure is issued at the sole responsibility of the Tour Operator; it is not issued on behalf of, and does not commit, the airlines mentioned therein or any other airlines whose services are used in the course of the tour. In addition, most, if not all, carriers limit or exclude their liability to you, often in accordance with international conventions. Copies of the relevant carriers conditions are available on request. Under EU law (Regulation 261/2004), you have the rights under certain circumstances to refunds and/or compensation the airline in the event of denied boarding, cancellation or delay to your flight (except where the delay is due to extraordinary circumstances). Full details of these rights are available the airlines. Should the airline fail to comply with these rules, you must complain to the Civil Aviation Authority on or at In accordance with EU directive (EC) No. 2111/2005, Article 9, we are required to bring to your attention the existence of a community list of air carriers that are subject to an operating ban within the EU. Before departure the UK or overseas, it may be necessary to amend the airline, aircraft or flight timings (by less than 12 hours), or your destination airport due to operational reasons. Where such changes occur, it is not possible to transfer to another holiday or to cancel without incurring normal cancellation charges. Carriers such as airlines used in this brochure may be subject to change. In line with EU regulations we are required to advise you of the actual carrier operating your flight/connecting flight/transfer. We do this by listing carriers to be used or likely to be used in this brochure. 24. Disabled Clients We are not a specialist disabled holiday company, but we will make every effort to meet any special requests you may have, subject to availability and operational suitability. Before making a booking we will need to know if you have any medical / physical / mobility needs which might affect how and if we can deliver all your chosen holiday services. These needs may affect your flight, transfers, or the suitability of your chosen accommodation or other aspects of your holiday. We would ask therefore that you submit any special needs / requirements to us in writing before making a reservation. A checklist for disabled and less mobile passengers can be obtained by contacting us directly and will need to be completed and signed by you before your booking can proceed. Please note that completion of this form will not guarantee your needs will be met. It will however enable us to check the suitability of your chosen holiday with our resort staff, based on the information supplied by you. We cannot be held liable if you fail to tell us about any special requirements that may affect the quality of your holiday. 25. Special Requests If you wish to make special requests, you must notify your travel agent or Balkan Holidays direct. At the time of booking special requests cannot be added less than 8 weeks before departure. We cannot accept special requests in relation to late availability and special offers. Whilst we will endeavour to meet any reasonable request, we regret we cannot guarantee that they will be fulfilled, unless we have expressly stated otherwise in writing to you. 26. General Balkan Holidays reserves the right to terminate the holiday arrangements of anyone whose behaviour is such that it is likely, in the opinion of ourselves, the accommodation owner/manager or any other person in authority, to cause distress, damage, danger or annoyance to other persons, staff, any third party or property. Any enforced cancellation of this nature will be subject to full cancellation charges as detailed on p. 64, with Balkan Holidays having no obligation to refund or compensate, or to organise or pay for the return travel arrangements. No refund can be considered on any tickets or coupons unless they are returned to our Head Office, duly cancelled, and amendments suitably endorsed. 27. Your Financial Protection We provide full financial protection for our package holidays and flights, by way of our Air Travel Organiser s Licence number In the unlikely event of Holiday Insurance DEMANDS AND NEEDS This travel insurance policy will suit the Demands and Needs of an individual, or group (where applicable) who have no excluded pre-existing medical conditions, are travelling to countries included within the policy terms and who wish to insure themselves against the unforeseen circumstances/events detailed in the policy wording. Subject to terms and conditions and maximum specified sums insured. IMPORTANT The policy will have been sold to you on a non advised basis and it is therefore your responsibility to read this information (paying particular attention to the terms and conditions and exclusions) and ensure that it meets all of your requirements. You may already possess alternative insurance(s) for some or all of the features and benefit provided by this product; it is your responsibility to investigate this. If upon reading the policy you find it does not meet all of your requirements, please refer to the relevant cooling off/policy cancellation section. Balkan Holidays Limited are an appointed representative of ITC Compliance Limited which is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (their registration number is ) and which is permitted to advise on and arrange general insurance contracts. We will not provide you with any advice about the suitability of this product for your individual needs but we will be happy to provide you with factual information. 'The policy we sell includes a 24 hour emergency service. It can also cover you for cancellation, loss of baggage, and travel delay. All customers travelling with us must have a valid insurance policy to cover the full period of the holiday. The insurance can either be purchased through us or another provider. You can cancel your insurance within 14 days of purchase, however, please note, if you have a single trip policy that ends within one month of the date you purchased your policy, the cooling off period does not apply and we will not be able to offer you a refund. If you have decided not to buy the insurance, please note that it is your responsibility to ensure that the insurance you have purchased has the relevant cover and meets your needs. The following is a summary of cover only. You will receive the full policy wordings at the time of purchase, which define the cover, conditions and exclusions. You agree to accept that in those circumstances the alternative ATOL holder will perform those obligations (after prior agreement the CAA) and you agree to pay any money outstanding to be paid by you under your contract to that alternative ATOL holder. However, you also agree that in some cases it will not be possible to appoint an alternative ATOL holder, in which case you will be entitled to make a claim under the ATOL scheme (or your credit card issuer where applicable). When you buy an ATOL protected flight or flight inclusive holiday us you will receive an ATOL Certificate. This lists the flight, accommodation, car hire and/or other services that are financially protected, where you can get information on what this means for you and who to contact if things go wrong. If we, or the suppliers identified on your ATOL certificate, are unable to provide the services listed (or a suitable alternative, through an alternative ATOL holder or otherwise) for reasons of insolvency, the Trustees of the Air Travel Trust may make a payment to (or confer a benefit on) you under the ATOL scheme. You agree that in return for such a payment or benefit you assign absolutely to those Trustees any claims which you have or may have arising out of or relating to the non-provision of the services, including any claim against us, the travel agent (or your credit card issuer where applicable). You also agree that any such claims may be re-assigned to another body, if that other body has paid sums you have claimed under the ATOL scheme. Not all holiday or travel services offered and sold by us will be protected by the ATOL Scheme. Please ask us to confirm what protection may apply to your booking. The price of our air holiday packages includes the amount of 2.50 per person as part of the ATOL Protection Contribution (APC) we pay to the CAA. This charge is included in our advertised prices. 28. Marketing In order to process your booking, we need to collect certain personal details you. These details will include, where applicable, the names and addresses of party members, credit / debit card or other payment details, and special requirements (including some sensitive data, as defined by the Act), such as those relating to any disability or medical condition which may affect the chosen holiday arrangements, and any dietary restrictions which may disclose your religious beliefs. If we need any other personal details, we will tell you before we obtain them you. We need to pass on your personal details to the companies and organisations who need to know them so that your holiday can be provided (for example your airline, PREMIUM PLUS EXCESSES 50 increasing to 100 in respect of overseas legal expenses and assistance. If You or any persons travelling suffer any pre-existing medical condition for which any prescribed medication is being taken or if any treatment has been received including surgery, tests or investigations within the last 2 years you must contact the medical screening helpline. Any Medical Condition for which You or a Close Relative or a Travelling Companion are aware of but have not had a diagnosis. Any Medical Condition for which You or a Close Relative or a Travelling Companion have received a terminal prognosis. Any Medical Condition for which You or a Close Relative or a Travelling Companion are on a waiting list for or have the knowledge of the need for surgery, treatment or investigation at a hospital, clinic or nursing home. Any Medical Condition You have in respect of which a Medical Practitioner has advised You not to travel or would have done so had You sought their advice but despite this You still travel. Any surgery, treatment or investigations for which You intend to travel outside of Your Home Area to receive (including any expenses incurred due to the discovery of other Medical Conditions during and/or complications arising these procedures). Any Medical Condition for which You are not taking the recommended treatment or prescribed medication as directed by a Medical Practitioner. Your travel against any health requirements stipulated by the carrier, their handling agents or any other Public Transport provider Your own unlawful action or any criminal proceedings against You. hotel, other supplier, credit / debit card company or bank). All details you give us in connection with your booking (including those relating to any disability, medical condition or your religious beliefs (sensitive data), will be kept by us but we will only use names and addresses for marketing. We will ask you for your consent first before doing this. For example, if we wish to use any of your personal details for marketing purposes, we will tell you this when we ask for your details and give you the opportunity to say no if you do not want us to do so. You are generally entitled to ask us (by letter or ) what details of yours are being held or processed, for what purpose and to whom they may be or have been disclosed. We will charge a fee to respond to such a request. We promise to respond to your request within 40 days of receiving your written request and fee. In certain limited circumstances we are entitled to refuse your request. 29. Brochure Accuracy All information in this brochure is given in good faith and to the best of our knowledge was correct at the time of going to press (August 2017). The descriptions and information are compiled some time in advance and may be subject to change. All prices are based on Sterling and offers are subject to change or withdrawal without notice; however you will be informed of any changes relevant to your holiday. If we should need to apply any other surcharges, we guarantee to keep them to an absolute minimum and explain them fully. Ski maps are not to scale. Excursions, Tours and Activities Excursions, tours and activities (hereafter known collectively as Events) that you may choose to book or pay for whilst you are on holiday are not part of the package holiday provided by Balkan Holidays Ltd. Your contract for any of these events is solely with the supplier of the event, and not Balkan Holidays Ltd or the local ground handler ( the agent ). Neither Balkan Holidays Ltd nor the local ground handlers can be responsible for the provision of any of these Events or for anything that happens during the course of its provision by the supplier. Your pursuit of Winter Sports unless Winter Sports Cover has been selected and appropriate premium paid. Your engagement in or practice of manual work Your travel to a country or specific area or event to which the Travel Advice Unit of the Foreign and Commonwealth Office or the World Health Organisation or similar body has advised against all or all but essential travel. Any circumstances You are aware of at the time of taking out this policy that could reasonably be expected to give rise to a claim on this policy. Please refer to the policy terms & conditions for a full list of the significant exclusions. IMPORTANT NOTICE We would like to draw your attention to some important features of your travel insurance including: 1. Insurance Document: You should read this document carefully.
