2 NOTES FROM THE PRESIDENT Hello Everyone, Let me express our sorrow to the O Connells for the loss of mother, grandmother, very fine lady and a dedicated club member, Aleine. We ll miss her in the meeting and club events. You can tell by the calendar and by the weather(at least this past week) that spring is in the air and classics and cool cars are appearing around the area. There was a great turnout at the Tech student s show and they appreciate our help, Jason and I went for a little while and they had a good showing of cars. A couple of club members gathered some awards. It is going to be a busy month for us. Keep a close watch on the web for the dates of upcoming events. I missed our get-together with Blue Ribbon and tour of Mr. Cranford s autos because I didn t check the web. Mark on your calendars, phones, etc. for April 14,21 and 28. There are shows on all three weekends. Our birthday show is the 21 st so please try to make it for the support of our sponsor Aim bank. They ll have free food and cake and a good fellowship. Also, our club will have a fund raiser for March of Dimes for Jim and Laura Hamlett, so bring some cash to support them. The winner(most cash collected for car) will win a nice price from the Hamletts. The Blue Ribbon rally is another important event on the 28 th since our club helps with the parking. We have interest from two potential sponsors, a national firm and the Lowes supermarket group here in Lubbock. Lowes would like us to have a show and shine, maybe late May or early June. We hope to team-up with Caprock and help them with a show in early May and then they will hopefully bring a few cars to ours when we set a date. If you haven t paid your annual dues please do so. We need and want you to continue to be a part of the club. It will make Ronnie s life a little easier when everyone s paid. We could also use a means of automatic notification of members so that Mike doesn t have to constantly try to send them( for members like me that don t always check the web). My excuse is Jason s upcoming graduation. So, if you have an idea, not too expensive, please let us know at the meeting or one of the officers. Please say a word of thanks to my fellow officers that do all of the leg work for the club.
