9 Offering the Right Products. Due to the high customers demand for lowcost flights, Frankfurt Airport fully opened up for the Low Cost segment in March Lowcost carriers opened a new market and brought a new target group to the airport. Lowcost carriers helped to expand current network and offered a new range of services to existing customers. 9

10 Focussing and Redesigning Customers Journey. Frankfurt Airport knows its customers and is aware of their journey through the terminals and along the airport-operational processes. All processes have been redesigned to reduce the level of stress and improve passengers sense of well-being in FRA. 10

11 Enhancing the Travel Experience. Frankfurt Airport already launched a large number of measures to enhance the travel experience for passengers at FRA. 11

12 Offering Modern and Functional Infrastructure. Frankfurt Airport is offering a state-of-theart infrastructure and multi-functional technology in both existing terminals. All facilities are designed to improve passengers sense of well-being in FRA. Trends and technologies like Self-Check- In, Baggage-Drop-Off or Self-Connect- Services are implemented and constantly developed further. 12

13 Adding More Capacity by Developing a New Terminal 3. To cover the future demand, Fraport is planning a new Terminal 3 in the southern part of the airport. With an investment of about 3 billion, the new terminal offers capacities for additional 14 million passengers per year. Terminal 3 will be built in full functionality in order to serve the high quality demands of Frankfurt Airport s network-carriers. It will also be connected to the existing Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 in the northern part of the airport. 13

15 Meeting Lowcost s Needs by Developing a Lowcost Infrastructure (Pier G). Opening up for the lowcost segment led to a fast growth of passenger counts. To suit the growing market, Fraport is planning a new Pier G on short-terms. Pier G is designed for lowcost-use only. Technics and fabric of building are functional not premium. 15

16 Step by Step Construction Saves Time and Reduces Costs. The building is planned in 3 phases: phase 1: right side of central building + half pier phase 2: left side of central building + half pier + connection Terminal 3 phase 3: jetways for aircraft boarding The inauguration of phase 1 is planned for 2020 and offers a capacity for 4-5 million passengers per year. Flexible Schengen/Non-Schengen utilization due to swing gates. 16

Pier G is designed with strict focus on costs and processes, Simplified construction and technical infrastructure with: Reduced service offer (playgrounds, entertainment, showers, relaxing zones,...) More automation and self-services (check-in, baggage-drop, infokiosks, ) No lounge-facilities Lowcost-tailored shops and gastro facilities Connection to Terminal 1 and 2 via bus shuttle only (until completion of phase 2) Ramp boarding only (until completion of phase 3) 17

18 Summary. The dramatic change of the aviation market forces airports to redesign their business and set focus on passengers. Frankfurt Airport successfully started several projects to meet the current market needs: Offering right products. Focusing passengers journey and enhancing travel experience. Offering modern and functional infrastructure. Adding suitable capacity. Working on these issues will make a major contribution to ensuring the future success of Frankfurt Airport! 18
