Takes 1h15 12:25: Arrive in Calais. Travel to Paris PM 18:30: Evening at the restaurant Au Cadet de Gascogne and Visit of Montmartre, Place des tertres 21:00: IBIS Hotel Le Bourget Pupils should bring food and drink from home for the journey. Only water is allowed on the coach.

Breakfast at IBIS Hotel Le Bourget 8:45: Leave Hotel 9:30: Boat trip on the Seine 12:00 Visit of Musee du Louvre (Mona Lisa) Lunch at Les Jardins des Tuileries (paid by Swanmore ) followed by a short amount of time souvenir shopping near Le Louvre. 16:00: Visit to Notre Dame Cathedral Evening meal at IBIS Hotel Le Bourget Evening at leisure Walking shoes will be needed and cameras. Warm clothes will be needed!

4 Itinerary - dimanche Date Activity Important reminders Sunday 26 th October AM: Breakfast at IBIS Hotel Check out Hotel - PROMPTLY 9:30: Visit of Tour Eiffel (2 nd level tickets) 12:00: Leave Paris for drive to Calais 16:45: Check in at Calais P&O terminal 17:45: Ferry leaves for Dover 21:45: Rough estimated arrival at Swanmore Buy lunch at services and dinner on the boat. Save some money for the boat and services.

Small day bag for carrying water/ cameras etc.

6 Code of Conduct As with any trip involving pupils from Swanmore College, the highest standards of behaviour are expected. All pupils are to listen carefully to and follow instructions. This is especially important when travelling in a foreign country. Please remind your son/daughter that they will be a guest in France and will therefore be representing their family and college. For the benefit of everyone they must be sensible and show consideration at all times. Naturally pupils will not be in possession of alcohol, tobacco, drugs or dangerous items (such as knives or fireworks), nor will they be allowed to buy them for others. They will not be allowed to wear football shirts. They must be punctual (wear a watch). They must never leave the group without permission or wander off on their own. They should be in threes minimum and no larger than groups of 5. Pupils should let their teacher know who they intend to be with at all times. At no point must they leave the hotel unsupervised.

7 Code of Conduct Continued.. Pupils are NOT allowed in rooms of the opposite sex at anytime. Bedtime and lights out time must be observed. We will have had a long and tiring day on Friday and will be having a very early start on Saturday. EVERYONE needs a good night s sleep. This is a hotel there are paying guests, not just Swanmore pupils. Please be respectful. They must not eat gum on the coach and litter must be put in bags provided. Seatbelts must be fastened at all times. No-one apart from teachers should walk around the coach while it is moving. No pupil is allowed out on deck on the ferry unless accompanied by a member of staff. No extremes of fashion should be worn and the college rules applying to jewellery apply i.e. no facial piercings Any infringement of these rules will be dealt with immediately and severely. Please reinforce their importance with your child before the trip.

8 Food Day 1: Breakfast and lunch: pupils to bring food. However, there will be the opportunity to buy snacks at a service station en route to Dover, should supplies run out before we leave England! Also, there will be a restaurant on the ferry. In the evening: dinner in a restaurant in Montmartre, provided by Schools into Europe. Choose your dinner in advance. Day 2: Breakfast and dinner at the hotel. Lunch at Les jardins des Tuileries provided by Swanmore College. Day 3: Breakfast at the hotel Lunch and dinner: pupils to buy food. We will have a short stop at a French service station where pupils will be able to buy some snacks. And, let s not forget the restaurant on the ferry on our way back to England... Your child will therefore wish to bring a small amount of sterling cash ( 30 max recommended).

9 Money Money will also be needed to buy drinks in Paris on Saturday and Sunday. However, it would be sensible to bring several small bottles of water for the outward and return journeys and also to have one whilst walking around Paris. 60 Euros should be sufficient to cover the cost in France. Any additional spending money is of course at your discretion. Your child will need to be responsible for his/her money and valuables during the visit. Please remind them to keep wallets, cameras and mobiles safe and to always check change before leaving a shop!

10 Emergencies Should it be necessary for you to get in touch with your child during our visit to France, there are two members of staff whom you may contact: Mr S. Barker: Daytime until 3pm (Friday only) Weekend/Evening Please only use the evening numbers if the situation requires immediate contact with the group. Medication and Insurance If your child suffers from travel sickness, hay fever, asthma, allergic reactions or any other condition requiring medication, please ensure they have the necessary medication with them. These must be carried at all times. Miss Mason will be responsible for holding the general first aid kit. A synopsis of our insurance cover is attached at the back of the booklet for your information.
