On ether sde of the tower, a logga 41'10" x 15' wde was restored for the man entrance nto the lobby area. These were fnshed n marble tlts whch stll reman. The stone trm en the buldng s KO. Bedford lmestone backed up wth whte Portland cement. mortar. Thesxrsrorxnllsaregraypressedbrcktonatchfheexfstngbrckof the 1 structure bult n The exteror brck walls range n thckness from 17'1 to 12". The arched wndows on the frst level and the clock tower are remnscent of the 2Gth 1 Century ralm Revval archtecture. There are seven stone arches along the front oc the buldng whch also relate to the 20th Century talan Revval style. All parttons rere bult wth 4" gypsum blocks; doors were 3'2" x 7', wth columns! 12" x 12" on the upper floors, and 18'" 18'3~1 the basemem level. Hallsays and lobby areas are fnshed n 12" x 12" marble tles. There are sectons of the same 1 marble n the lobby area whch cxrend upward from the floor 8 feet. There are skylghts on the second and thrd floor levels. On the thrd floor, there s a large freproof vault wth heavy metal double doors.

The restaurant, located at the west end of the lobby area, wa$ one of the larger eatng establshments n the cty. There was a counter whch was usedfor fast servce and dnng tables whch were used for persons wth more tme to devote to ther dnng. P~esdent Harry S. Truman used the staton as a whstle stop durng hs campagn for 1 hs Eulf term n ofzce. nen Senator Joseph T. Robnson ded n JUG 1937, many of the senators and represenxatves from Washngton, D. C. came by tran to pay ther fnal respects, and came through Unon Staton. The ralroad frst known as the St. Lous, ron Mountan and southern Ralway. The Arkansas branch extended from Lttle Rock to the Esssur state lne n September of t was the man artery for dstrbutng mmgrants and exchange of freght through the Great Southwest terrtory. n 8&83, Gleason's Hotel was located- at the Unon Staton and was known as a "frst class hetel." t was three stores hgh, ZOO', and grounds covered 112 acre. There was anple accommodatons for 50 guests. The dnng room seated 100 and las furnshed n elegant, modern style.
