4 Lincoln Park, 2200 Domanik Dr., is an ADA accessible, 25-acre community park located in the western portion of the City along the Root River. Existing facilities include a baseball diamond, a playfield, a playground (sand surface), restrooms, a picnic area, a shelter, a canoe launch, fishing, and a historical exhibit. The park also contains a portion of the Root River Pathway and the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources Steelhead Facility. The park includes about 11 acres of primary environmental corridor. The shelter is tucked away near a wooded area on the far west side of the park. This park does not lack in open space. There is plenty of space to play catch or take a leisurely walk down the pathway along the Root River. The pavilion is available for rent. A key to the restrooms will be provided with the rental of the pavilion. Maximum capacity: 75. Malt beverage permits may be purchased with a paid rental of the pavilion. One double 20 amp outlet is available with rental of the pavilion. Approximately 9 chain-linked picnic tables are located under the pavilion with a couple additional picnic tables under trees within the vicinity of the pavilion. Non-metered street parking is available. See Frequently Asked Questions and the Policies & Procedures for additional information. 5 Lockwood Park, 4300 Graceland Blvd., is a fully ADA accessible, 38-acre community park located in the western portion of the City. Existing facilities include one league ball diamond, a playfield, a playground, a basketball court, five tennis courts, a sledding hill, picnic areas, restrooms, a small pond for fishing, and a historical exhibit. The league softball diamond at the park is also used as a baseball diamond. Though there are no certified soccer or football fields and no goal posts, the park has enough open space to hold 3+ sport field areas. This is a large, very active park. There are three shelters on the premises, one available for rent; the other two may be used on a first come first served basis. The main pavilion is available for rent. Maximum capacity: 75. Pavilion has approximately 10 chained picnic tables. Alcohol is not permitted. One double 20 amp outlet is available with rental of the pavilion. Large parking lot available. See Frequently Asked Questions and the Policies & Procedures for additional information. 6 Pierce Woods Park, 3616 Pierce Blvd., is an ADA accessible, seven-acre neighborhood park located in the southern portion of the City. The park lies just southwest of the Humble Park Community Center. Existing facilities include a playground (sand surface), a shelter, a picnic area, and restrooms. The park is encompassed within an isolated natural resource area consisting of woodlands. Though this park does not have a lot of amenities, it is a peaceful and beautifully wooded park providing plenty of space to toss a Frisbee or take a leisurely walk. Also, unlike Lincoln and Lockwood, chain-linked picnic tables are placed underneath the pavilion as well as just immediately outside of the pavilion to accommodate both sun lovers and shade lovers. The pavilion is available for rent. Maximum shelter capacity: 75. The pavilion has approximately 7 chained picnic tables with an additional 6 or more located immediately outside of the pavilion. Malt beverage permits may be purchased with a paid pavilion rental permit. One double 20 amp outlet is available with rental of the pavilion. Street parking available. See Frequently Asked Questions and the Policies & Procedures for additional information. Addi onal picnic tables are placed outside of the pavilion. 7 WEDDINGS Lincoln Park, Lockwood Park and Pierce Woods park pavilions may be rented for wedding ceremonies and receptions. These locations are best suited for large ceremonies as each offer a pavilion, restrooms and sufficient parking. We also offer the North Beach Gazebo and Carre-Hogle Park for small ceremonies. Both of these locations offer views of Lake Michigan. North Beach Gazebo, 1501 Michigan Blvd., is located at the top of the hill off of Michigan Blvd. within North Beach Park. The gazebo may be rented in 3 hour increments for wedding ceremonies only. North Beach is a highly active park and so we caution soon to be brides & grooms to be prepared for the possibility of large crowds in the area. Large ceremonies are not recommended. The gazebo is located on a hill top which does not create an ideal situation for the set up of chairs for guests. No rent-ables permitted. The pavilion may not be reserved during scheduled public events. See frequently asked questions and the policies & procedures for additional information. Carre-Hogle Park, 1699 S. Main St., is a 2-acre passive use park located along the Lake Michigan shoreline in the southeastern portion of the City. Existing facilities include a picnic area and fishing. Though parking is very limited and the park does not have a pavilion or restrooms it is typically quiet, and does offer beautiful views of Lake Michigan. Rent-ables (chairs, etc.) are permitted though some restrictions apply. We do not recommend large or long ceremonies due to the lack of restroom facilities and the limited parking. This park is best suited for simple, small wedding ceremonies. PHOTOS NOT AVAILABLE AT THIS TIME Beach Weddings We do not reserve any portion of either of our beaches for private events. Should you wish to hold a ceremony on the beach itself, you do so at your own risk. North Beach is a highly active beach area and is not recommended for ceremonies due to the large crowds. Zoo Beach is a little less active though is still highly attended by beach goers. Privacy and/or a quiet setting is not likely going to occur. Set up of arbors, chairs, etc. &/or blocking off an area for exclusive use is not permitted.
