Andrew Biller, a, 175-pound tight end a year ago, will be the quarterback. After passing for just a handful of yards per game last season, and with a completion percentage south of 40 percent, Vanlue figures to feature the ground game again this year. here is, however, a new face under center. I think (Biller) has grown in the first eight, nine days at practice. I think he s grown a long way, so it s looking bright in that part as far as passing the ball a little bit, Kloepfer said. But we need to shorten games. We don t have enough people. If the games are too long, we re going to run out of stamina. We just want our passing game to be effective for us. he defense wasn t any better for the Wildcats a year ago as Vanlue allowed 42 points per game, but experience and size across the front seven will help aid the turnaround. he front four features the same four experienced offensive linemen (Bonham, Kloepfer, Creager and Ward), while reg Price will be in charge of all of the defense, according to Kloepfer. We ll be leaning on (Price) a lot to make checks out there on the field for us. I think our front seven has a good amount of experience. But for Vanlue, which has just two wins in its last 50 games, the key each week is to give maximum effort and keep getting better. If it can do that week in and week out, the thought around the program is that it can erase last season s winless finish. My goal as a coach is the same as any other coach, win every game you play. Everybody knows the reality is sometimes that doesn t happen, but we just have to take it play by play, Kloepfer said. And get better. I think that s everybody s goal. And when we come down to Week 10, we better be playing our best football of the year or I m not doing my job. If we re not improving each and every week then that s on me.
