Annual Membership fee is $15 a person or $25 a family. Please mail your membership application and check to Cherry Valley Riders, PO Box 87, Duvall, WA Make all checks payable to Cherry Valley Riders. TRAP Cherry Valley Rides has an awards program called TRAP (Trail Riders Award Program). Members log their riding hours on a form for the year and that form is turned into the chairperson before the annual CVR Christmas party. At the party award pins are handed out for 50, 100, 250, 500 and 1000 hours. Hours are added to each other each year. Hours spent in arenas do not count, these hours need to be spent on the trail. Time starts from when you swing your leg into the saddle until you dismount at the end of the ride. The chairperson then sends these forms to the King and Snohomish County Parks and Recreation Departments to show which trails are being used by horseback riders and what condition those trails are in. This is done in hopes of keeping trails open by showing that they are being used and appreciated by trailriders. It s also a fun way to see how many hours you spend in the saddle. Don t forget, all Cherry Valley rides count for double hours. Page 1 of 3

2 PAST RIDES February 25th Sweetheart Ride at Bridle Trails OOPS! We forgot to tell Rob that the ride was cancelled. Sounds like he had a great ride anyway and he even had someone take a photo of his group! Sorry about that, Rob, we promise better communication next time. UP-N-COMING RIDES March 31 st Chilly, Chili Ride at Mann Rd- please note the change of date! Riding horses with great friends and eating a good meal afterwards is about as good as it gets! This should be a super fun ride at Mann Road. Ride out time is 10:30. Expect some areas of mud. Shoes are recommended for your horse as there are some rocky areas. Dogs are ok to have off leash on this ride but no loose dogs at Sheril s house. Sheril and Jeff are making chili, Linda is bringing corn bread and Rob is bringing the cheese and onions. Please bring your own drinks. Bring a side dish if you d like. After the ride we will trailer to Sheril s house for the meal. There is plenty of room for rigs. You will need to clean up after your horse. RSVP by Thursday, March 29th April 7th Dessert Ride at Moss Lake Hosted by Glen and Linda Wilcox We will meet at Moss Lake, ride out time at 10:30 and enjoy some sweets when we get back to the parking lot. Details will be ed as the date gets closer. NEW MEMBER Please welcome new member Cheri Johnsen. Cheri was introduced to the club by Lisa Rule and she has been on a few CVR campouts.
