7 GARDEN BY THE BAY Singapore s Garden by the Bay redefines the whole garden strolling experience. Spanning over 250 acres, or 100 hectares, the gardens are located near to the Marina Reservoir and feature three large garden spaces in what many people consider to be a virtual garden city. The Bay South Garden segment, which opened midway through 2012, is perhaps the most impressive, with two bio-controlled conservatories, dubbed Cloud Forest and the Flower Dome. In them is plant life found on the different corners of the earth, from the Mediterranean to both cool and arid climate areas. Another fascinating part of the gardens are the huge tree-like structures known as the supertrees, which provide an environment for vast collection of exotic and rare ferns, orchids and vines. At night the supertrees light up, giving an especially unique look into gardens. During this winter season, there is an ongoing exhibit called winter wonderland containing lovely white flowers and penguin shaped plants for those looking for a taste of home.

8 JURONG BIRDS PARK For an up-close encounter with some of our prettiest and rarest feathered friends, step into Jurong Bird Park. Spread across 20.2 hectares in a western corner of Singapore, this sprawling park is Asia s largest, with a collection of over 5,000 birds from 400 species. You ll meet the many feathered residents during daily feeding sessions, even glimpsing elusive birds like the crested guinea fowl, iridescent starling and turaco. Colourful attractions Meet a variety of beautiful species during daily feeding sessions at the Jurong Bird Park. Don t miss the Waterfall Aviary, one of the world s largest walk-in aviaries, home to more than 600 birds and a 30-metre-high waterfall. There are other star attractions at this sprawling park, including the world s largest walk-in lory flight aviary at over nine stories high, where you ll get close to 15 colourful lory species, and the impressive Penguin Coast where you ll find many species of these flightless birds. 9 MARINA SAND SKY PARK Marina Bay Sands SkyPark really offers a taste of the highlife by viewing Singapore from above. This large wooden decked area on top of iconic Marina Bay Sands hotel at the edge of the city s harbour offers a 360-degree panorama, with nothing but a sheet of glass and a few wires between you and the view. Sitting on top of the massive, three-pronged hotel that overlooks the bay and practically put Singapore on the map, Marina Bay Sands SkyPark has been one of the most popular attractions in Singapore since it opened at the turn of the decade.
