Piper Theater at Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts is a newly renovated and fully equipped professional theater with maximum seating for 853. This space offers a stateof-the-art line array sound system and a brand new, fully integrated intelligent lighting system. Rent the Virginia G. Piper Theater Stage 2 (inside Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts) Stage 2 has a 10 x 30 raised stage, a large-projection screen, comprehensive audio and a small-scale lighting system for film/video screenings, comedy, lectures, music concerts, poetry readings, classes, meetings and more. With theater-style seating for 137 guests, this space offers a comfortable, intimate atmosphere. 4 Spaces frequently used inside Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts Dayton Fowler Grafman Atrium Designed for an impressive entrance, the spectacular 6,200-squarefoot main lobby of Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts, the Dayton Fowler Grafman Atrium, regularly serves as the site for many of the Valley s finest events and receptions. It can accommodate up to 500 (seated) or 900 (standing). The Atrium is typically used for events and receptions held in conjunction with performances in the Virginia G. Piper Theater or Stage 2. Rent the Dayton Fowler Grafman Atrium Art Gallery The Art Gallery is a 1,700-square-foot gallery devoted to the creative artwork of students. It is the ideal location for small receptions, lectures, poetry readings, classes, meetings and more. Green Room (located on A-level) Green Room: The green room has a coffee maker, hot pot, filtered water system, monitor, sofa, chairs, upright piano, and dining table. A hard-line phone is available in the green room for local calls only. Wardrobe (located on A-level) A wardrobe room on A-level is equipped with a washer, dryer, steamer, iron, ironing board and folding table. Basic costume attention items, sewing kit, hangers, bath towels and stage towels (dark) are available upon request. Animals ONLY service dogs and/or performance animals will be allowed inside the building. 7 LOADING DOCK Virginia G. Piper Theater Stage access for load-in and load-out is available upon arrangement with Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts technical staff. The loading dock is located at the northeast corner of Drinkwater Boulevard and Second Street. There is a locked gate at the top of the dock, opened upon request. The loading dock is able to accommodate only a single truck and is accessed by a long and narrow (260 L x 13 6 W) steep tunnel. The easiest way for large trucks to enter the loading dock is as follows (from Indian School Road): Head south on Drinkwater Boulevard, then enter the Drinkwater/Second Street intersection. Back into the loading dock angling at a northwest direction to get the truck and dock aligned, straight down. Maximum truck height is 14. Dock height is 3 5 and dock door dimensions are 13 6 H x 12 W. The loading dock will accommodate up to a single 53 truck The tunnel is very steep with an approximate grade of 20 degrees. 5 ScottsdalePerformingArts.org ARTS (2787)

8 Photography/Recording Policy Photography, video and all other recording within Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts facilities are not permitted without the artist s and Cultural Council s advance permission. For any public performance or rehearsal with audience, recording devices are restricted to areas of non-egress and ADA accessibility. All recording device positions must be approved by technical staff. Artists/Visitors Backstage Policy Backstage access is restricted; no one is allowed backstage without prior notification for safety and security reasons. Artist liaison or event representative must have prior notification of any non-essential personnel wishing backstage or dressing room access. For performances, house staff is instructed not to allow ANYONE backstage access through the house without prior notification or artist liaison and/or event representative escort. For safety and aesthetic reasons, visitors and audience members are NOT permitted to walk from the audience onto the stage, or to backstage at any time. Performers are strongly advised not to break the proscenium post-production until the house is clear of patrons. Artist Holds/Complimentary Tickets Artist will receive six (6) complimentary tickets per performance in center section to seat guests. Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts reserves the right to release unclaimed comps by 12 noon (Arizona Time) on day of performance. To claim comps, Artist manager/representative may contact Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts Artist Services Coordinator during advance or on day of show. House Late Seating Policy House will seat late patrons between songs or during a break in the presentation on stage (such as a scene change, in between dance works, etc.), or at intermission. When seats are available, house will seat patrons in open seats that do not require them to pass over patrons who were seated in time for the performance. When seats are not available (i.e. a sold-out, or close to sold-out performance), house will seat patrons in assigned seats ONLY during a break in the presentation, or at intermission. (Patrons may watch/listen to the stage on monitors in the Atrium.) When patrons leave the theater during the performance to visit the restroom or otherwise, the above guidelines for re-seating apply, including crossing over other patrons. Additional Policies Blocking exits, fire extinguishers, fire hoses or electrical panels is prohibited. NO food is permitted in the theater or onstage. Beverages are permitted only with in containers with a lid. Use of wheelchair-accessible aisles and exits for technical equipment is prohibited. Please inquire for clarification.
