There will be THREE positions to fill on the Riverton Board of Directors; ONE (three year), ONE (1 year), and ONE (2 year) - all Class A positions. A Class A member must be a resident 18 years or older and an owner of a single family dwelling unit. Any Class A member, in good standing, who would like to seek election to the Riverton Community Association Board of Directors may do so by submitting a nominating form signed by ten (10) or more members of the association. This form is due to the R.C.A office by 5 p.m. March 12th. (Forms are available to be picked up at the office) Voting takes place during the March 19th Annual Meeting. There are NO nominations from the floor at the Annual Meeting. Board members serve without compensation. Did you know?... If you have an account in bad standing you are not able to rent the community center, use the pool, attend any Riverton sponsored events, make any changes to your home, vote at the annual meeting, or sell your home.

3 Page 3 Children s Holiday Party This years Children s Holiday party was enjoyed by all. We had Santa come visit with the children and their families. The children had fun writing letters to Santa, getting gifts, having pizza, reading a story, and getting pictures taken with Santa. We would like to send a big thank you to our special guest, Dan Proctor, as well as, Melanie Chiappone and Samantha Robinson for organizing this event. Family Movie Night/PJ Party Our Family Movie Night/PJ Party was cancelled due to some technical difficulties. We will reschedule for a later date and post the new date to our Facebook page and on the mailboxes. We apologize for the inconvenience and hope to see everyone at our next one!
4 Page 4 R.C.A ANNUAL MEETING AND ELECTION Saturday, March 19 th 10 a.m. 12 p.m. Betty Ann McDonald Community Center ** An interpreter for the deaf will be at the meeting ** The Annual Meeting and Election of the Board of Directors of the Riverton Community Association, Incorporated, a New York Not-for-Profit Corporation with offices at 280 Scottsville West Henrietta Rd, West Henrietta, New York 14586, will take place on Saturday, March 19th at 10 a.m. All members of the Association are encouraged to attend. Only registered members in good standing may vote at the Annual Meeting. The ballot box will be open for voting from 10 a.m. until noon. ARE YOU REGISTERED/ELIGIBLE TO VOTE? To vote in the Riverton Community Association Election, you must be registered at the R.C.A. office. Registration is permanent as long as you maintain the same residence. If you have changed your residence within Riverton, you must re-register. All registered residents and/or property owners, 18 years or older may vote. Property owners must be current in their assessments to be eligible to vote. If you are registered, and will not be able to attend the Annual Meeting and Election, you may obtain a proxy by requesting it from the R.C.A. office. The office is located at 280 Scottsville West Henrietta Road. Please call the R.C.A. office ( ) if you have questions. Please Note: Registration will take place during regular business hours, M-Th. 9am-5pm You will need to show proof of current address and picture identification. You may not register anyone other than yourself. BOD Update Motion made to reinstate Frank Myers as President. Audrey will get a price for treatment of Ash Trees so they can be treated. Employee attending Small Engine Repair course at MCC, will take on additional responsibilities with the equipment Spring Board will get 3 quotes to professionally landscape the Riverton sign. Motion made to allow the MOM's Club to use the community center once a month (second Thursday) for an hour free of charge. Motion made to approve Gilbert Contracting drainage quote for $1,350 for the open space in the Meadows. Audrey and Samantha will work on letters to the Town of Henrietta and Residents regarding their diseased trees. Town of Henrietta will help with the setup of the Cross Creek Playground. Audrey is looking into possible locations and the cost for a community garden. Samantha will ask Mike about the collection company for new and existing delinquent accounts. Letter received from resident s Attorney regarding pool lift decision. Audrey Arber submitted a bid for Riverton Grounds Crew to do the landscape work at Riverton main sign. Samantha collected quotes for a pool lift and provided to RCA Attorney. Motion made to approve the drainage project for $1,050 by Gilbert Contracting. Motion made to approve the purchase of 2 swing set frames and 4 swings from School outfitters for $1, Motion made to approve SG Security quote of $870 for installation of a keypad in the Community Center with remote arm and disarm. Motion made to approve bike path repairs in 5 locations for $3,888. Motion made to approve hardscape quote from Brighton Landscape for $2, for Riverton main sign. Minimum Wage Increase- Effective 12/31/2015 = $9.00 per hour. Motion made to allow Attorney, David Ross to take over the collection accounts that are over $1500- not including those who are attempting to make their payments. Motion made to approve an additional $ needed to complete the purchase of two swing sets. The original motion only approved $1, when the actual cost is $2,

Is it the type of event that would be a lot easier if you had a nice place to hold it instead of using your living room? Renting the Community Center could be just the answer. As a resident of Riverton, you can rent this lovely 24 by 48 room with kitchenette for non-profit occasions. The seating capacity is 76 people, with table and chairs provided. A $100 cleaning deposit will hold your date up to one year in advance. The rental cost for Riverton residents is $75 for a total of 6 hours. The cleaning deposit will be returned to you if the room is left in the same manner in which it was rented. Call the RCA office to save your date. The Community News is published bi-monthly. Deadline for all material to be submitted is the 15 th of the month prior to publication. Each Letter to the Editor will be carefully reviewed for content, taste, appropriateness and potential liability. All letters must be signed and must include an address and a telephone number for verification. Names and addresses may be withheld upon request. Editing may be necessary for space. Page 9
10 Community Center Having an event or party but no place to host it?... Our Betty Ann McDonald Community Center is available to rent by all Riverton residents (in good standing). Proof of residency may be required. The room rental fee is $75.00 for 6 hours. A $ cleaning deposit is also required with all room rentals. Please call the office at for terms of use and availability. If anyone would be interested in volunteering to help coordinate and plan our 2016 Senior Thanksgiving Dinner that will be held on November 22nd, please contact the RCA Office at WINTER PARKING Please take note of the Town of Henrietta parking rules. In order to facilitate snow removal and to eliminate potential hazards, the parking of vehicles on all highways within the town, including the shoulders of the roads, is prohibited between the hours of 2a.m. and 9a.m. from November 1st through April 15th. Vehicles in violation of this ordinance are subject to a parking ticket (minimum $50.00). Repeat violators or vehicles that prevent plowing of a street will be towed and the vehicle s owner will be responsible for all towing and storage charges incurred by the town.
