2 Great Train Expo, Century II January 23 & 24 There were approximately 3,800 people attending this train show. I know that members wish that WTTC could have at least half that number attending our Model Train Show. In visiting with the Great Train Expo Coordinator, he said to advertise everywhere, primarily facebook. Thank You to everyone who helped setup, run trains and tear down the layouts. Also, Thank You to everyone that ran trains at the Museum. The Club Members were very busy and showed their dedication for the hobby. Cooper Brown, grandson of Troy and Linda Brown, enjoys running his new O Gauge train set. O Gauge pictured below with a crowd watching. Rich and Nancy Parsons are running their S Gauge trains. 2

3 Great Train Expo Continued: THE SEMAPHORE Setting up at Century II Next Business Meeting is Saturday, February 6, at 8:30 a.m. Some members will need to be at the Wichita Train Show at Cessna Activity Center to run trains and sell inventory at 9:00 am. HOWARD RUNFT IS A WICHITA TOY TRAIN CLUB MEMBER FOR MANY YEARS. AT PUBLISHING TIME, HE IS UNDER HOSPICE CARE. WHILE MANY OF US FEEL CLOSE TO HOWARD AND CLAIRE, HIS FAMILY HAS REQUESTED NO VISITORS. PLEASE RESPECT THEIR WISHES. OUR THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS ARE WITH THE RUNFT FAMILY. 3

The looks (I hail from Chicago)...Colors Favorite thing about WTTC: Friendly, helpful people. It s nice having a home for the layout. Christopher Meister s Eagle Scout Project is to bring the stage up to date for the benefit of St. Mary s Catholic School. The black stage curtain is in shreds and needs to be replaced (stage in the background). The stage walls and floor needs to be painted. It is his plan to purchase a new curtain and valance and solicit help from his fellow scouts to paint the walls and floor. Chris is a member of WTTC and the creator of the WTTC youtube site showing us running trains. He was the 2015 Junior Director. Last Saturday, January 23, a Chicken noodle on the run/ Chili night at home dinner fundraiser was successful in furthering the funding of the project. However, your help is needed in raising the remaining funds. Please help by donating what you can. You can give your donation to Rich Meister or a check payable to St. Mary s Parish writing in the Memo that it is for Chris Meister s Eagle Scout Project. Adult $8.00 ($1.00 off with food item), child 10 & under free. O and S Gauge layouts will be exhibited. Also WTTC has three 6 tables to sell inventory. Set up will be on Friday, February 5, after 3:00 pm. Calling all Spouses/Women! The Wichita Toy Train Club is inviting you to attend a meeting on Tuesday, February 9, 6:30 pm at the Wichita Toy Train Museum. Shari Shockey, President, is wanting to talk to the spouses/women about helping the club/museum as a birthday party coordinator, ideas for fundraisers, what to do for WTTC s 30th and organizing a kids activity room for the Model Train Show in September. Many times Shari has heard that someone would like to help, but doesn t know what to do. Members, please tell your spouse/significant other about this meeting.
