He has served on the music faculties at the University of Maryland, Texas Christian University, Haskell Indian Nations University and Tennessee Tech University. Groups performing for ratings receive a rating from the judges and perform with other groups from the same age level. All groups performing for ratings are awarded trophies based on ratings received. Judges The panel of adjudicators is balanced and consists of college music faculty and well respected high school and junior high band directors from the Midwest. We encourage beginning, junior high and high school concert bands, choirs, orchestras, pep bands and jazz bands to participate in the Sound Waves Music Festival. The reputable judges provide each performing group with positive feedback and suggestions to improve your ensemble s musicianship and overall performance. Use this music festival for motivation and as a reward for your students! 2018 Band & Choir Adjudicators Ratings More Information Coming Soon! Division I - SUPERIOR Division II - EXCELLENT Division III - GOOD Awards Each group will receive written critiques of their performance. Accreditation The Schlitterbahn Sound Waves Music Festival is accredited by the Kansas State High School Activities Association and the Missouri State High School Activities Association. Performing groups must be in good standing to perform for ratings at our festival. Schools not accredited by their State Activities Association may still perform for comments only. Music Requirements Bands perform on a minute schedule which includes setting up, performing and exiting the stage area. Choirs perform on a 10 minute schedule which includes setting up, performing and exiting the stage area.

If your music selections are out of print, your photocopied scores must have a letter from the publisher granting your permission to photocopy the score.
