2 About MDX MDX operates 5 roads in Miami Dade County SR 924, SR 112, SR 836, SR 874 and SR 878 MDX Primary Source of Revenue: User Fees-Tolls MDX receives no sales tax, gas tax, property tax or half-penny sales tax Efficient transportation agency with staff of 36 public employees supported by contracted private sector consultants for specific tasks 100% of net revenues invested locally

3 The Need for Mobility is Growing Increased multimodal mobility to move freight, visitors and residents is needed 15.8 million overnight visitors in 2016 MIA total cargo tons reached 2.2 million, with 8 million tons arriving at the Port Miami-Dade s population increased 20% between Census 2000 and 2016 Miami-Dade is a global logistics hub. The increase in mobility provided by MDX s planned extensions is critical to enhance economic opportunities for residents Miami-Dade is not alone in the mobility race needed for jobs. Tampa, Jacksonville, Atlanta, Savannah are investing in smart highway systems

8 MAJOR PROJECTS SR 836 IN DESIGN-BUILD PROCUREMENT SR 836 / I-95 Interchange Improvements ($240.9 million) Improves SR 836 from NW 17 th Avenue to I-95 in conjunction with the FDOT I-395 project Widens and improves operations on SR 836 EB from NW 17 th Avenue to I-95 Interchange Widens SR 836 bridges over the Miami River and improves SR 836 WB mainline Provides new connector serving SB I-95 traffic destined WB on SR 836 and to the Civic Center Improves safety and mobility and improves access to Hospital District by providing a new access to North River Drive from I-95 and SR 836 Design-Build Start: Summer 2018

10 MAJOR PROJECTS SR 836 IN PD&E SR 836 Southwest Extension ($42.4 million Planning & R/W) Provides new expressway extension of SR 836 from NW 137 th Avenue to the southwest Kendall area Addresses residents, businesses and educational facilities existing and future transportation needs Improves hurricane/emergency evacuation routes and travel times Provides for inside shoulder express transit lane and technology initiatives to provide congestion relief to Southwest Miami-Dade PD&E and R/W for Phase 1 (8 th Street to 157 th Ave) Complete FY 2021 Design-Build of Phase 1 (currently unfunded) Anticipated Start: 2019

12 MAJOR PROJECTS SR 874 IN CONSTRUCTION SR 874 Ramp Connector to SW 128 th Street ($104.3 million) Provides expressway access to southwest Miami-Dade communities, presently only serviced by access to and from Florida s Turnpike, through the SW 120 th Street and SW 152 nd Street ramps Widens SW 128 th Street from two to four lanes from SW 122 nd Avenue to SW 137 th Avenue Improves SW 127 th Avenue just north and south of the intersection with SW 128 th Street to facilitate and improve vehicular access (funded by Miami-Dade County) Complete FY 2019 SR 138 th Street at SR 874 Ramp Connector SR 874 at SW 117 th Avenue looking North SW 138 th Street / SW 117 th Ave looking East

15 MAJOR PROJECTS SR 924 IN PD&E SR 924 Extension West to HEFT ($171.8 million) Provides connectivity to the HEFT from SR 924 and NW 138 th Street Provides access to major activity and employment centers in northwest Miami-Dade Reduces travel time from 20 minutes to 4 minutes from NW 138 th Street to the HEFT Increases vehicles utilizing the corridor by 30% Funds segment from HEFT to 97 th Avenue (97 th Avenue to SR 826 is not funded) Design-Build Start: Summer 2019 T Construction Funded Construction Unfunded Proposed Tolling Point T

16 MAJOR PROJECTS SR 924 IN PD&E SR 924 Partial Interchange at NW 67 th Avenue ($27.2 million) Constructs a new westbound on-ramp and off-ramp on SR 924 at NW 67 th Avenue and new eastbound on-ramp from NW 67 th Avenue Provides congestion relief to Miami Lakes and Hialeah by adding new traffic movements at SR 924 and NW 67 th Avenue Design-Build Start: Spring 2019

17 MAJOR PROJECTS SR 924 IN PD&E SR 924 Extension East to I-95 ($14.6 million Planning & Final Design) Reduces travel times and minimize delays on NW 119 th Street by separating pass-through traffic from local traffic Provides a critical east-west expressway connection Provides enhancements to the community - removes existing lanes, integrates residential and business communities north and south of NW 119 th Street, improves pedestrian connectivity, widens sidewalks, enhances lighting, provides bike lanes and landscaping Provides for inside shoulder express transit lane and technology initiatives Additional connectivity to I-95 from SR 924 (Gratigny Parkway) Final Design Start: Spring 2020

18 MAJOR PROJECTS SR 112 IN PD&E SR 112 Ramp Improvements at NW 37 th Avenue ($13.7 million) Constructs new partial interchange at SR 112 and NW 37 th Avenue Provides new movements including EB on-ramp at NW 37 th Avenue and WB off-ramp at NW 37 th Avenue Provides additional access to industrial hub, opens commercial area to expressway system and improves access to the MIC Design-Build Start: Fall 2019
