Interstate 95 Bridge Rehabilitation Project Work is underway to improve the deck and substructure on several bridges located on I 95 in Stafford and Spotsylvania. Stafford County: I 95 Bridge over Aquia Creek at mile marker 145 The I 95 bridges over Aquia Creek are located just north of Exit 143 (Route 610/Garrisonville) at mile marker 145. I 95 Northbound: Monday Thursday, 9 p.m. 4:30 a.m. 9 p.m. single lane closed 10 p.m. 4:30 a.m. two lanes closed 4:30 a.m. All lanes open the following morning I 95 Southbound Monday Thursday, 9 p.m. 10 a.m. 9 p.m. single lane closed 10 p.m. 4:30 a.m. two lanes closed 4:30 a.m. 10 a.m. single lane remains closed 10 a.m. All lanes will reopen.

2 Interstate 95 (Exit 140/Courthouse Road) Work is underway to improve the I 95 interchange at Exit 140 (Route 630/Courthouse Road). The project is building a diverging diamond interchange at Exit 140, relocating the Courthouse Road and Route 1 intersection to the south to align with Hospital Center Boulevard, and is widening Courthouse Road to four lanes from Cedar Lane to Ramoth Church Road. I 95 Southbound (New) Monday Thursday, 9 p.m. 10 a.m. A single lane will close at 9 p.m. near the Exit 140 interchange followed by a double lane closure at 10 p.m. for bridge work. Double lane closures will end at 4:30 a.m. A single lane will remain closed until 10 a.m. when all lanes will reopen. All ramps will remain open. I 95 Northbound (New) Tuesday Friday, 9 p.m. 4:30 a.m. A single lane will close at 9 p.m. near the Exit 140 interchange followed by a double lane closure at 10 p.m. Double lane closures will end at 4:30 a.m. and all lanes will reopen. Route 630 (Courthouse Road) Monday Thursday, 9 a.m. 2:30 p.m. and Friday, 9 a.m. 12 p.m. Courthouse Road will be reduced to one lane from Cedar Lane to Walpole Street for grading and pipe work. Monday Thursday, 9 a.m. 2:30 p.m. and Friday, 9 a.m. 12 p.m. Expect alternating, one way traffic on Courthouse Road between Austin Ridge Drive and Red Oak Drive for grading and pipe work. Ramoth Church Road Monday Thursday, 9 a.m. 2:30 p.m. and Friday, 9 a.m. 12 p.m. Expect alternating, one way traffic on Ramoth Church Road from Courthouse Road to Dog Patch Lane to allow crews to install temporary concrete barriers. Flaggers will direct drivers in the work zone. Expect brief delays. Snowbird Lane Monday Thursday, 9 a.m. 2:30 p.m. and Friday, 9 a.m. 12 p.m. Expect alternating, one way traffic on Snowbird Lane between Courthouse Road and the dead end to allow trucks to enter and exit the work zone for flagging to allow trucks to enter and exit the work zone. Winding Creek Road Monday Thursday, 9 a.m. 2:30 p.m. and Friday, 8:30 a.m. 12 p.m. Expect alternating, oneway traffic on Winding Creek Road from Courthouse Road to Embrey Mill Road for pipe work. Woodcutters Road Monday Thursday, 9 a.m. 2:30 p.m. and Friday, 9 a.m. 12 p.m. Expect alternating, single lane closures on Woodcutters Road between Courthouse Road and Cutstone Drive.

3 Wyche Road Monday Thursday, 9 a.m. 2:30 p.m. and Friday, 9 a.m. 12 p.m. Expect alternating, oneway traffic on Wyche Road at Courthouse Road to allow trucks to enter and exit the work zone for grading and pipe work. Interstate 95 Southbound Rappahannock River Crossing Project Construction is underway on a $132 million project to reduce driver delays by adding three new travel lanes to I 95 southbound in the Fredericksburg area. The project work zone begins just north of the Exit 133 interchange at Route 17 in Stafford County and ends just south of the Exit 130 interchange at Route 3 in the City of Fredericksburg and Spotsylvania County. Construction will be underway through May Interstate 95 Northbound FULL Traffic Stop (New) Monday Tuesday, 11:59 p.m. 1 a.m. Interstate 95 northbound traffic at Exit 130 (Route 3) will be stopped for one 30 minute period sometime after midnight for utility work. Virginia State Police will slowly roll traffic to a stop just after midnight near the Cowan Boulevard overpass. Traffic will be stopped up to 30 minutes for motorist safety. Interstate 95 Northbound and Southbound Monday Friday, 9 p.m. 10 a.m. and Friday Saturday, 10 p.m. 5 a.m. Expect a single lane closure between mile marker 129 which is near Exit 130 (Route 3) and Exit 136 (Centreport Parkway) to allow crews to install temporary concrete barriers along the left shoulder of I 95 northbound and southbound. All lanes will reopen by 4:30 a.m. on I 95 northbound and 10 a.m. on I 95 southbound. Interstate 95 Exit 130/Route 3/Fredericksburg Interchange Improvement Project Construction is underway to modify the ramps and traffic pattern at the Interstate 95 and Route 3 interchange at Exit 130 in Fredericksburg to enhance safety. Motorists will encounter the following lane closures near Route 3, I-95 at Exit 130 and/or the Central Park shopping area. Interstate 95 Northbound (New) Sunday Monday, 9 p.m. 4:30 a.m. Expect a single lane to be closed on I 95 northbound near the interchange for milling and paving work. Interstate 95 Southbound FULL TRAFFIC STOPS (Update) Monday Tuesday, 10 p.m. 4:30 a.m. Expect a double lane closure to begin at 10 p.m. on I 95 southbound. Traffic will be intermittently stopped overnight between midnight and

4 4:30 a.m. for up to 30 minutes at a time for motorist safety. Crews will install an overhead sign just north of Exit 130. All northbound lanes will remain open. All southbound lanes will reopen by 4:30 a.m. the following morning. Virginia State Police will assist with traffic control. Interstate 95 Southbound Off Ramp (Update) Sunday Thursday, 9 p.m. 6 a.m. Expect a single lane to be closed on I 95 northbound near the interchange for milling and paving work. Route 3 Eastbound Sunday Friday, 9:30 p.m. 4:30 a.m. A single lane on Route 3 eastbound will close at the interchange for overhead sign work. Route 3 Westbound Sunday Friday, 9:30 p.m. 4:30 a.m. A single lane on Route 3 westbound will close at the interchange for overhead sign work. Interstate 95 at Exit 118/Mudd Tavern Road Widening and Bridge Replacement Project Crews are working to improve the interchange on Interstate 95 at Exit 118 (Mudd Tavern Road). The project is building a new I 95 overpass and will improve on and off ramps on Mudd Tavern Road, Mudd Tavern Road east of I 95, and Mallard Road. I 95 Northbound On and Off Ramps Monday Friday, 9 a.m. 3:30 p.m. and Friday, 9 a.m. 12 p.m. Expect flagging operations at the I 95 northbound on and off ramps from Mudd Tavern Road for roadway reconstruction. Mudd Tavern Road Monday Friday, 9 a.m. 3:30 p.m. Expect alternating, one way traffic on Mudd Tavern Road near the interchange. Flaggers will direct drivers through the work zone. Mallard Road Monday Friday, 9 a.m. 3:30 p.m. Expect alternating, one way traffic on Mallard Road for project construction and storm sewer installation. Flaggers will direct drivers through the work zone. Districtwide Flashing Yellow Arrow Project (Update) Monday Friday, 9 a.m. 4 p.m. Crews will be working at the following intersections to install flashing yellow arrows at several traffic signals in the Fredericksburg District to help drivers turn left safely against oncoming traffic. Flaggers will direct drivers through the

5 intersection. Virginia State Police will assist with traffic control. Expect brief delays near the following intersections. 6 Stafford County Work Zones Route 608 (Brooke Road) CLOSED for Stafford County Project Brooke Road is closed near Eskimo Hill Road. This is a Stafford County project to realign the roadway to improve safety and drainage. The road will remain closed until January For more information about the project and the detour route, please visit the county s project page. Route 616 (Poplar Road) CLOSED Beginning Monday, Oct. 1, Poplar Road will close between Stony Hill Road and Mack Lane to allow crews to remove a deteriorated metal pipe from underneath the roadway and install a new plastic pipe. Weather permitting, work will be complete and the road will reopen by Oct. 5. Signs will be posted to guide drivers along the recommended detour route, which is approximately 11 miles. Route 637 (Telegraph Road) CLOSED Telegraph Road is closed to through traffic between Route 1 and the I 95 bridge near Mt. Perry Road for pipe installation. Through traffic will be directed to use the designated detour around the work zone. Residents along Telegraph Road will maintain access to their homes. Route 631 (Bells Hill Road) CLOSED 24 hour closure, Route 631 (Bells Hill Road) remains closed between Virginia Belle Drive and Belle Vine Lane for a slope failure and road damage caused by flooding. The road is anticipated to remain closed to through traffic until mid October Road closed barricades and detour signs have been posted to guide motorists. Bells Hill Road remains open at both intersections with Route 1. Travelers seeking to access destinations south of Belle Vine Lane should use the southern intersection of Route 1 and Bells Hill Road to reach their destination. Routine Maintenance Monday Friday, 6 a.m. 4 p.m. Stay alert for mobile lane closures. Crews will perform routine maintenance activities at the following locations: Route 643 (Joshua Road) vegetation control City of Fredericksburg Work Zones I 95 Northbound at the Rappahannock River Bridge (New) Monday Thursday, 9:30 a.m. 3:30 p.m. Expect a single right lane and shoulder closure on I 95 northbound at the bridge over the Rappahannock River for bridge inspection. The bridge is located at mile marker 132, north of Exit 130 (Route 3). Expect brief delays.

7 Spotsylvania County Work Zones Interstate 95 Southbound (New) Friday, 9 a.m. 12 p.m. Expect a single lane to be closed at the bridge over the Ni River, which is mile marker 121, just before Exit 118/Thornburg for bridge inspection. Route 3 Eastbound (New) Wednesday, 9 a.m. 4 p.m. Expect single, alternating lane closures on Route 3 eastbound between the Orange County line and Elys Ford Road for a mobile operation. Crews will be installing pavement markers after recently paving this section of roadway. Routine Maintenance Monday Friday, 6 a.m. 4 p.m. Stay alert for mobile lane closures. Crews will perform routine maintenance activities at the following locations: Route 642 (Woolfolk Road) maintenance work Caroline County Work Zones Route 626 (Woodford Road) Monday and Friday, 7 a.m. 7 p.m. Expect alternating, one way traffic on Route 626 near the bridge over the Mattaponi River for bridge repairs. Flaggers will direct drivers across the bridge. Expect brief delays near the bridge approaches and in the work zone. Surface Treatment Monday Friday, 7 a.m. 7 p.m. Expect single lane closures, with direction from a flagging crew, on various secondary routes throughout Caroline County for surface treatment. 8 Caroline County/King George County Work Zone Route 301 at Rappahannock River (James Madison Bridge) Monday Friday, 7 a.m. 7 p.m. Traffic will be reduced to a single lane on Route 301 northbound and southbound near the James Madison Bridge over the Rappahannock River for a bridge maintenance project. Expect brief delays on the bridge and at the bridge approaches. Gloucester County Work Zones Route 17 Southbound Sunday Wednesday, 6 p.m. 6 a.m. Crews will be milling and paving on Route 17 southbound near the following intersections: Route 1301 (Fields Landing Road), Route 667 (Ernest Lane), Route 614 (Hickory Fork Road) and Route 17 Business. Motorists may experience a rough driving surface and possible delays. Police will assist with traffic control at the various intersections. Route 33 at Rappahannock Community College (New) Monday Friday, 8 a.m. 5 p.m. Expect a single lane and shoulder closures on Route 33 northbound and southbound near the Rappahannock Community College campus. Construction will start to extend the existing turn lanes and taper the area. Route 17 at Guinea Road Intersection (New) Monday Friday, Midnight 11 a.m. Expect a single lane and turn lane closures at the intersection of Route 17 (George Washington Memorial Highway) and Guinea Road. Crews will be installing or repairing handicapped accessible ramps at sidewalk locations. Route 216 (Guinea Road) (New) Monday Friday, Midnight 11 a.m. Expect a single lane and turn lane closures at the intersection of Route 216 (Guinea Road) and York Crossing Drive. Crews will be installing or repairing handicapped accessible ramps at sidewalk locations. Route 605 (Indian Road) CLOSED 24 hour closure, Indian Road is closed between Fary s Mill Road and Mohican Drive as crews for a pipe replacement project. Intense heavy rain damaged the triple line pipe and roadway. Signs are posted along the recommended detour. King and Queen County Work Zones Surface Treatment Monday Friday, 7 a.m. 5 p.m. Expect single lane closures, with direction from a flagging crew, on various secondary routes throughout King and Queen County for surface treatment.

9 King George County Work Zone Route 301 (James Madison Parkway) Northbound and Southbound Monday Friday, 7 a.m. 7 p.m. Expect alternating lane closures on Route 301 (James Madison Parkway) northbound near Salem Church Road and Windsor Drive for paving. On southbound, crews will be paving between Ridge Road and Hillcrest Drive. Expect brief delays in the work zone. King William County Work Zone Route 360 (Richmond Tappahannock Highway) Monday Friday, 7 a.m. 7:30 p.m. The bridge over the Moncuin Creek will be reduced to a single lane. Flaggers will alternate one way traffic over the bridge to allow crews to work underneath the bridge. Expect brief delays. Surface Treatment Monday Friday, 7 a.m. 7 p.m. Expect single lane closures, with direction from a flagging crew, on various secondary routes throughout King William County for surface treatment. Lancaster County Work Zone Route 3 Eastbound (New) Sunday Thursday, 8 p.m. 6 a.m. Expect single, alternating lane closures on Route 3 eastbound between Good Luck Road and Irvington Road. Police will assist with traffic control with the mobile work zone. Crews will be milling and paving. Motorists may experience temporary rough pavement. Expect delays near the work zone. Lancaster County/Middlesex Work Zone Route 3 at the Robert O. Norris Bridge (Update) Friday, 7 p.m. 7 a.m. Route 3 will be reduced to a single lane on the Norris Bridge for the pin replacement project. A pilot truck will guide traffic across the bridge, alternating one direction at a time. Expect delays.

10 Middlesex County Work Zone Route 603 (Farley Park Road) (New) Tuesday Thursday, 7 a.m. 7 p.m. Expect alternating, one way traffic on Route 603 (Farley Park Road) at the bridge over Dragon Run for bridge work. A flagging crew will direct drivers across the bridge. Expect brief delays near the bridge approaches.
