1 TEN DAYS WILDLIFE TOUR COCHIN PERIYAR-MUNNAR-CHINNAR-ANAMALAI- MUDUMALI-BANDIPUR-KABINI Day-1 Day-2 Transfer to Periyar Tiger Reserve from Cochin. Check in to a hotel/ resort / home stay. Afternoon visit to Periyar Tiger reserve for a 3hrs nature trail. Overnight in hotel Periyar Tiger Reserve is located in South east of Cohin. It is the first Tiger reserve in Kerala. The forest is of Tropical evergreen and moist deciduous. Boating through the lake, bamboo rafting, nature trail, tiger trail, night walk, jungle scout etc are the wildlife programme that the park offers. The Nature trail is for 3hrs through the evergreen forest. There is chances of sighting of elephants, wild gaur, sambar deer, great horn bill etc in this trail. Wake up early for a full day tiger trail programme. It involves guided walking safari and bamboo rafting inside wildlife zone of the reserve with packed lunch. Return to hotel by evening. Since the hiking is through thick evergreen jungle, this Tigre Trail programme in Periyar is not very potential for sighting of Tigers. There is chances of sighting of other predators like leopard, sloth bear, wild dog etc. other than elephants, gaur and sambar.

2 Day-3 Check out from Periyar and transfer to Munnar. Afternoon mountain hiking and visit to Eravikulam National Park for Nilgiri Tahr, an endangered and endemic mountain goat. Overnight in Hotel. Check in to a Plantation resort in Munnar overlooking tea and spice garden. Afternoon hike through tea garden / spice garden Munnar is the highest city in the state, perched at 1600MSL plus in the foothill of highest peak in South India. It has vast expanse of tea garden intermittent with high altitude rainforest, high grasslands and spice plantations. The city was found by Scottish planters in 19 th centaury. Munnar offers best hiking trails in south India for all ages group. The lush high altitude forest and rolling hills high grassland offer endemic and endangered species of wildlife and birds. Day-4 Transfer to Chinnar Wildlife sanctuary. Afternoon walking safari and jungle camp. Option to stay in a village resort after the trek. Chinnar is an ideal forest for walking safari and jungle camp to see wildlife safely. The forest is tropical dry deciduous and savannah type grassland. Day-5- One more day to explore wildlife of Chinnar

3 Visit to Chinnar Wildlife Sanctuary with packed breakfast for a walking safari through the savannah type of forest for wildlife, birds and plants. The sanctuary is under rain shadow of the mountains. Hence the forest is open, dominated by thorny bushes and shot trees. It is an ideal forest for spotting wildlife on foot. Day-6 After morning walking safari and breakfast Transfer to Anamalai Tiger Reserve. Check in to the jungle lodge inside the reserve. Evening hike around the camp.

4 Day-7 Wake up early for a tiger trail hike through wildlife zone. Return to camp. After breakfast transfer to Mazinagudi in Mudumalai Tiger reserve thorough a steep Ghats section. Check in to a jungle resort. Day-8 One more safari to explore the tiger land in the heart of Blue Mountains. Wake up early morning for a jeep safari in Mudumalai Tiger reserve. Afternoon safari in Bandipur

5 Day-9 Transfer to Kabini in Nagarhole National Park. Kabini provides the best tiger safaris in South India. Check in to a jungle resort. Afternoon boat safari inside the forest for wildlife. The catchment of the water reservoir inside the park is an ideal spot for wildlife sighting. It also gives excellent sighting of water birds. Overnight in resort. Day-10 After morning safari and breakfast transfer to Cochin. Drive from Kabini to Cochin will take 8hrs. If you want a break in the tour plan to avoid this long drive, one night in Wayanad will be an option. In Wayanad we can provide walking safari or heritage site visits.
