Tidore Islands City has a strategic location that could provide many opportunities for tourism, port and trade center development across Asia Pacific. INFRASTRUCTURE Transportation There is no significant transportation infrastructure in Tidore Islands City. The city relies heavily on small seaports and the nearest airport in Ternate City as its transportation. Telecommunication Tidore Islands City is supported by adequate telecommunication facilities, mobile network is served by Telkomsel and landline network is served by the Telkom Indonesia. Energy The main source of energy in Tidore Islands City comes from the Diesel Generator and Solar Panel. P a g e 3 14

5 TOURISM FACTS ATTRACTION Tidore Islands City has very strong cultural and natural tourism resources. There are a lot of tourist attractions throughout the area including small islands, beaches, waterfalls, historical sites, culinary, art and culture. Some of the best tourist attractions are: 1. Maitara Island 2. Kedaton Sultanate 3. Akesahu Beach 4. Cobo Beach 5. Tahua Beach 6. Gurua Marasai Lake 7. Luku Celeng Water Spring, etc. There are not many supporting facilities such as hotels and restaurants because most of the tourists tend to stay at Ternate City as their entry point, which in turn providing the Tidore City an advantage to be able to keep its originality and attractiveness. ACCESSIBILITIES The only main entry into Tidore Islands City is from Sultan Babullah Airport that is located in Ternate City; from there tourists may continue by speed boat or ferry to reach Tidore Islands City. The nearest international airport are the Sultan Hasanuddin International Airport in Makassar and the Sam Ratulangi International Airport in Manado. P a g e 4 14

6 REGIONAL TOURISM POLICY TOURISM IN REGIONAL DEVELOPMENT Tidore Islands City is one of the priorities in national tourism development. Ministry of Tourism have appointed Tidore Islands City as one of the National Tourism Development Zone. Tourism has become one of the main priority sectors for development by the local government. The government and the community have fully aware of Tidore Islands City tourism resources and it s potential for economic contribution through tourism development. They are welcoming investors that are willing to cooperate not only on developing more tourism attraction and facilities but also to develop in all of tourism aspects of Tidore Islands City.
