In wet years, the trail below the dam [PCT miles ] may be flooded. Rangers report the flooded area sometimes has quicksand, so use caution. As an alternate, you can take the paved path just past the MF Spillway to the road on top of the dam [see purple line]. Then follow the dam to Arrowhead Lake Rd, and backtrack on Hwy 173 to the PCT.
