ROVER CLUB SCHWEIZ Invitation to the 18. International Rover-Meeting 17 20 May 2018 Dear Rover friends It is our pleasure to invite you to the next international Rover meeting held in Switzerland.

A region deep in history and a strong bound to its traditions. Last but not least, it is the home of the world famous Emmentaler Cheese.

1 ROVER CLUB SCHWEIZ Invitation to the 18. International Rover-Meeting May 2018 Dear Rover friends It is our pleasure to invite you to the next international Rover meeting held in Switzerland. The meeting will take place in the region of the Emmental. With its picturesque villages and the rolling hills, it is one of most visited region at the foothills of the Alps. A region deep in history and a strong bound to its traditions. Last but not least, it is the home of the world famous Emmentaler Cheese. Meeting point: Schloss Hünigen Freimettigenstrasse Konolfingen T hotel@schlosshuenigen.ch Schloss Hünigen is a historic castle with a contemporary touch. Located in the outskirts of the Emmental, its beautiful rose garden and a noble park make it the perfect place to stay during our event. Program of the event: Thursday, 17 May 2018: From 15:00: Arrival and check in at Schloss Hünigen in CH-3510 Konolfingen 18:30: Reception and welcome aperitif (Offered by Rover Club Schweiz)

Friday, 18 May 2018 Up to 09:00: Arrival and check in at Schloss Hünigen (latecomers) in CH-3510 Konolfingen 09:30: Morning briefing; Thereafter start to our tour through the Emmental. First we will visit the E-Bike factory Flyer in Huttwil. Then we will continue our drive and head towards Affoltern to visit the Schaukäserei where they make the famous Emmentaler. ca. 13:00: Lunch at the Schaukäserei Affoltern im Emmental ca. 14:30: A local guide will take us through the cheese dairy where you learn how the big holes come into the Emmentaler cheese J ca. 16:00 Return back to our hotel. 18:30: Dinner at the restaurant of the Schlosshotel Saturday, 19 May :30: Morning briefing; Thereafter we will start our tour through the Gürbetal. The Gürbetal area is famous for producing white cabbage, which after harvesting, is turned into Sauerkraut. 10:00: Viewing of the Oldtimer Galerie in Toffen. A place well known for its Classic Cars and Bikes auctions. There is a permanent display of about 120 cars and bikes on an area of 3'000 m :30: Lunch at the restaurant of the Oldtimer Galerie.

13:30: Our cars stay at the Oldtimer Galerie s car park in Toffen. We change to a vintage coach made by Swiss coach and truck manufacturer Saurer to take us to Berne. 14:00: UNESCO Old town tour.

15:30: Stopover at the old tramway depot. A meeting point for young and old likewise. For more than 15 years, it has been an important location in Berne where their in-house brewed beer is served. ca.

3 13:30: Our cars stay at the Oldtimer Galerie s car park in Toffen. We change to a vintage coach made by Swiss coach and truck manufacturer Saurer to take us to Berne. 14:00: UNESCO Old town tour. In 1983 the old town of Berne has been accepted on the list of world cultural assets of UNESCO. Back to medieval times the city is well documented and is based on plans of this era. 15:30: Stopover at the old tramway depot. A meeting point for young and old likewise. For more than 15 years, it has been an important location in Berne where their in-house brewed beer is served. ca. 16:30: Ride back to Toffen in the Vintage Saurer Coach. After: Return back to Schloss Hünigen in our own cars. 19:00: Gala-Dinner at the Schlosshotel Sunday, 20 May 2018: 10:30: Schloss brunch with a rich and exclusive buffet including warm and cold dishes at the restaurant Rosarium. After: Farewell and goodbye to the participants. Individual homeward journey. For those who would like to extend their stay please book at the registration. Eligibility requirements The number of participants is limited. The registration is handled first come, first served Registration ends: Monday, 16 April 2018 Registrations fee: (Without Hotel) SFr per Person Included is: All entrance fees, road books, all aperitifs, lunch without drinks (Friday & Sa.), dinner (Thursday, Friday & Saturday.) The accommodation at the Schloss Hotel has to be booked by each participant directly at the Hotel relating to Rover Club Switzerland Double room: CHF per night (incl. breakfast) Single room: CHF per night (incl. breakfast)

4 Insurance is in the responsibility of the participants. For damages that might occur during the event, The Rover Club Switzerland is not liable. We are looking forward to welcome many well-known, as well as new faces from the international Rover scene in Switzerland!
