This island was used at various times between the th centuries as a prison, a hospital for socially unacceptable groups and a military base. This is also the prison where Nelson Mandela spends some time. After lunch, take a tour to one of the local townships, Langa, the oldest black township in Cape Town. On a typical guided walking tour, you will see four different housing and socio-economic areas, including worker hostels and informal settings. After lunch you can continue to Cape Point, just an hour s drive from downtown Cape Town. Suggestions will be to go to the waterfront, enjoy traditional African food and wine. Do some shopping or visit museums, galleries, gardens, aquarium or Boulders Beach. You might just want to go and relax on one of our exclusive beaches in Cape Town. Your tour guide will be at your service to drive you where- ever you want to go. Even if you do not want to dive, being on the boat is an experience itself while you watch your loved ones enjoying the thrill. Coming face to face with a great white shark in Gansbaai is an incredible experience one that you re unlikely to forget. Besides Great White Sharks you could see other wildlife species such as Cape Fur Seals, Cape Gannets, Cape Cormorants, Jackass penguins, Southern Right Whales and Dolphins. Great White sharks are surface feeders, providing brilliant surface viewing for our waiting divers or our non-divers from the comfort of the shark-viewing deck of the boat, where exhilarating photographs and video footage may be captured, at close range.

7 DAY 7: INCLUDED: BED & BREAKFAST AND ACTIVITIES EXCLUDED: LUNCH, DINNER Your first stop of the day is a small Stellenbosch wine estate called Muratie, much loved by locals, with bags of charm. Its traditional cellars are typified by ramshackle walls and worn paintings -- adding to its rustic charm. Sample the estate s fortified wine and locally produced chocolate a winning combination! With your expert guide, hop back in your minivan and continue your journey northwest to the Paarl wine region, home to leading wine producers like Fairview and Nederburg. Stop at the Fairview Wine Estate and tour its large cellars, trying out several of their famed white wines and cheeses. Lunch takes place in the gourmet capital of South Africa Franschhoek roughly 5 miles (8 km) away. Your private guide will point out the best sidewalk cafes and restaurants, and then leave you to enjoy lunch at your own expense. In the early afternoon your tour continues to Dieu Donne, another notable Franschhoek vineyard set high up in the Helderberg mountain range. The views from here are simply incredible, with surrounding vineyards that stretch as far as the eye can see. Soak up the views and sample the estate s fine wines, leaning about the slow ripening of grapes in mountain viticulture. Your last wine estate visit is Boschendal, one of South Africa s oldest wine producers, with a wine-making heritage that dates back to the 17th century. The gorgeous farm estate houses state-of-the-art cellars, and it s here that you ll enjoy the day s final wine-tasting session alongside rows of beautiful oak barrels. After breakfast depart to the Jonkershoek Nature Reserve near Stellenbosch. The reserve comprises the imposing Jonkershoek Mountains and portions of the upper Jonkershoek valley. The lower reaches of the valley are a well-known wine producing area. Today you will enjoy the rugged terrain and hike at your own pace enjoying the natural vegetation. You also stand a chance to see raptors, such as black eagle, fish eagle and spotted eagle owl occurs. Lots of bird species to enjoy. Become one with yourself and nature and experience the inner joy of peace and freedom. Return to Franschoek before dark. Traverse mountain passes and descend into the expanse of the Klein Karoo, the semi-arid mini Karoo where farmers, artists and escapists converge in charming little town with beautiful scenery all around. Your destination is Oudtshoorn, the capital of the Klein Karoo. Have lunch in town. Visit the Cango Caves in the afternoon as well as an Ostrich farm.
