2 Welcome to Wanganui Located on the West Coast of the North Island, most of Wanganui lies on the north western bank of the historically significant Wanganui River, the longest navigable river in New Zealand. Steeped in history, art and culture, Wanganui is big enough to draw crowds and small enough to be intimate. Surrounded by the mountains Taranaki, Ruapehu and Tongariro, dramatic west coast beaches and unspoilt native bush there is something here for every conference. Daily flights into Wanganui and only 2 hours drive north of Wellington make this destination easy to access. 4 Accommodation The hotel has a total of 50 accommodation rooms consisting of 10 standard rooms, 38 superior rooms, 1 executive studio and 1 luxury apartment complete with cooking facilities.. Standard Room Standard rooms are made up of twin and triple configurations and the ensuite includes a shower over the bath. Superior Room Superior rooms enjoy either views over the pool area or boast balconies facing the majestic mountain. Well appointed and spacious they offer a tranquil retreat and are made up of double, twin and single configurations. Family units feature a separate bedroom and lounge with full kitchen facilities. Executive Studio Providing ample room to relax the executive studio offers delegates a superior level of comfort with elegant lounge and dining furnishings and the bathroom features a spa bath. The room opens on to the garden and pool area. Luxury Apartment The two bedroom luxury apartment has air-conditioning and either a king size bed or two singles in each bedroom. The two ensuites features with either a spa bath or shower. The luxury apartment includes an interconnecting lounge and fully functional kitchen with dishwasher and microwave. All rooms feature Security monitoring, flat screen television with Sky channels, wifi internet access, clock radio, desk, mini bar or cooking facilities, tea and coffee facilities, direct dial telephone, ironing facilities and hair dryer. Dickens Room The Dickens Room has a built in bar and enjoys direct access to a small conservatory while the swimming pool, barbeque and picnic area can also be utilised from this room. Can interconnect with the McKinnon Room creating space for larger meetings or concurrent sessions. McKinnon Room The smaller of the two conference rooms, the McKinnon Room is perfect for intimate dining, small seminars or as a breakout area for larger groups. Can interconnect with the Dickens Room creating space for larger meetings or concurrent sessions.
