In this guide you will find some helpful information during your stay in Paris. 2 Before your arrival - Home insurance : Hom insurance is mandatory in France. You can subcribe with a bank or online with this website (Price starts at 26 a year) : (English version available) - Bed linen and dishes : cooking ustensiles not provided. You have to bring yours or buy it. Bed linen kit is only available paying an extra renting fee of 30 for the duration of your stay. It includes pillow with its cover, sheet and duvet. Please let us know before your arrival if you are interested in renting one for your stay. - Birth certificate (with your parents names) translated into French. Mind asking for this paper before leaving. This is mandatory to apply for French housing allowance CAF. - Form for the immigration service OFII (only for non-european students) Upon arrival you will have to send the completed form which was given to you when you got your visa along with copies of your passport and visa. How to get to the residence from the airport By Taxi One-way fare from Orly airport: approx. 15 during daytime/ 30 at night and week-ends* One-way fare from CDG airport: approx. 40 during daytime/ 55 at night and week-ends * Address of Résidence Restignat : 36, avenue du Président Wilson Cachan By commuter train «RER» From Orly airport, take Orlyval and go down at «Antony» train station. Then take commuter train line B to «Bagneux» or «Arcueil-Cachan» train station. This entrance is available for cars only during daytime. - Second entrance on Loing street which is open as follows : from 07AM to 08PM Monday to Thursday and from 07AM to 10PM Friday to Sunday This entrance is only pedestrian. 3

If you want to have the Internet in your room, you need to subscribe to a French Internet provider. Standard package price between 20 and 40 /month. Main French Internet providers : Orange, SFR, Bouygues, Free Check their English version websites to look for the offer you are interested in. 7 How to receive/send mail or packages Receiving standard mail Your standard mail is delivered by the mailman into your mailbox located in the main hall building A. Receiving packages Your packages will be delivered to the Reception, unless you are called by the delivery company and that your are in the residence.
