1 TREKKING I can offer you some amazing excursions around the higher reaches of Lake Como, ranging from relatively easy half-day walks to more strenuous treks which take several days. You can admire the beauty of this region from a completely new perspective. Depending on the time of year, the weather, and your level of fitness, we can select the most suitable itinerary. We can also combine the excursion with lunch, dinner, or an overnight stay at a mountain refuge, a crotto, or a local farmhouse. Claudio Pozzi, professional Alpine Guide Note: To take part in these various activities, you need to come equipped with proper trekking shoes or boots, suitable clothing for the time of year and the intended route, a backpack, sunglasses, a hat, sun-cream and trekking poles if required. The excursions can involve changes in weather conditions and other variables. The prices quoted for the treks are per group (with a discount for single families). They do not include extras such as lunch, dinner, overnight stays and road tolls. Prices may vary in cases of particularly large groups, or according to the type of route taken. Alpe Graglio, Vercana Easy, picturesque walk through beech-woods and pastures, taking you from the Vercana mountains to Alpe Graglio (1410 m). Ascent of 500 m. Duration: 3 hours Motta fiorita, Peglio Scenic excursion from Bodone to Motta Fiorita (1516 m) via the Motta Refuge. 400 m ascent. 2 Church of San Fedelino, Dascio Departing from Dascio, you follow the shore of Lake Mezzola as far as the Church of San Fedelino. This is an itinerary of great historical and cultural interest, and also includes the natural beauty of the Pian di Spagna wildlife reserve. Duration: Basic route 3-4 hours; with excursion to Mount Peschiera 5-6 hours Cost: Euros per group Church of Sant Eufemia, Dongo Short walk in very scenic surroundings, near the Giardino del Merlo (Garden of the Blackbird). Duration: 3 hours Tour of Sasso Pelo, Domaso Another beautiful walk which takes you from Domaso to the most scenic point on Sasso Pelo. A 650 m. ascent passing through the hamlets of Pozzuolo and Santa Croce. This excursion is not recommended in very hot weather. Duration: 3-4 hours Trattoria Falco Mount Berlinghera, Sorico Beautiful scenic excursion, taking you on a round trip and climbing to the top of Mount Berlinghera (1930 m). You pass the Bocchetta di Chiaro and return to your car near the Church of San Bartolomeo. Duration: 4-5 hours

3 Cimetta dell acqua, Dosso del Liro A very scenic excursion, leaving from Dosso del Liro and finishing at the Cimetta dell' Acqua (1686 m) after an ascent of about 700 m. Duration: 4-5 hours Cost: 150 Euros per group Mount Grona, Menaggio You leave from a point in the Breglia mountains and pass the Menaggio Refuge to arrive at the summit (1736 m). From here you can enjoy a spectacular 360-degree view! Duration: 4-5 hours Cost: 170 Euros per group Mount Bregagno, Musso A trek involving a 1100 m ascent, which takes you from the Musso mountains up to Bregagno (2107 m). An easy route on grassy slopes ideal for families. Duration: 5-6 hours Mount Crocione, Griante Starting from Griante, you reach this wonderfully scenic peak after a climb of about 1300 m. It is interesting to explore the tunnels dug out during the First World War. Duration: 5-6 hours Cost: 170 Euros per group

4 San Benedetto, Lenno A walk involving a 600 m climb up to the Romanesque Abbey of San Benedetto in Val Perlana. Duration: 5 hours Cost: 170 Euros per group Pizzo di Gino, Garzeno Summer and autumn trekking route with only a slight ascent (550 m). Starting from the Giovo Refuge, you pass the Sommafiume Rifuge and continue on to the Pizzo di Gino (2245 m). Duration: - Sommafiume Refuge Trecciolino, Novate Mezzola A very unusual route. You ascend from Verceia, and follow the trail that used to be an old railroad connecting the Val dei Ratti and the Val Codera. You then descend to Codera. Duration: 5-6 hours Cost: 180 Euros per group Locanda Codera Sasso Canale, Sorico A strenuous route involving an ascent of 1200 m. This is a very scenic excursion, which takes you to the 2411 m. summit. You can begin the ascent from either San Bartolomeo or the Montemezzo mountains. Dalcò Refuge

5 Mount Duria, Peglio A demanding route taking you to the peak of Mount Duria (2264 m) after an ascent of 1150 m. From the top, you have a view of Lake Darengo. Trattoria Falco - Lake Darengo, Livo This excursion, involving an ascent of 1200 m, takes you to one of the most beautiful spots in the Alto Lario mountains: Lake Darengo. Close to the lake is the Como Refuge, a rest stop for many trekkers and climbers in this area. Crotto Dangri Mount Legnone, Colico A fairly strenuous but very satisfying trek. Starting from Roccoli Lorla, you climb up to the 2609 m peak, to be rewarded with a breathtaking 360-degree view. One of the classic excursions in the Alto Lario area. Cost: 220 Euros per group Roccoli Lorla Refuge Mountains of Vercana-Dangri-Livo Starting from Domaso, you climb up into the Vercana mountains, from where you have breathtaking views over Lake Como and the Valtellina area. From here, you hike past some typical mountain shelters to reach Dangri. You then continue to Livo and return to Domaso. Duration: 7 hours Cost: 180 Euros per group Crotto Dangri -

6 Roggio Lakes, Switzerland This summer excursion starts from the Giovo Refuge and takes you via the Bocchetta di Stazzona to the Roggio Lakes, just across the Swiss border. You can also choose to call at the Sant Jorio Refuge and climb to the summit of Cima di Cugn. Duration: - Tour of the three lakes, Livo Spectacular excursion through a wild landscape, with an overnight stay at either the Como or Pianezza Refuge. After the climb to Lake Darengo, you go down towards Lake Cavrig and then on to Lake Ledù. Ascent of 1200 m. on the first day and 500 m. on the second. A good level of expertise is required. Duration: 2 days Cost: 360 Euros per group Crotto Dangri - Como Refuge Pianezza Refuge Pizzo Ligoncio, Verceia Challenging excursion involving a 2500 m ascent. After leaving the car above Verceia, you continue towards Frasnedo as far as the Volta Refuge. The next day, you climb to the top of Pizzo Ligoncio (3032 m): an ascent which includes some difficult stretches. The route takes you through a beautiful wild valley with spectacular views. 7 Alta via del Lario, Menaggio-Sorico This beautiful trek covers 54 km and involves an overall ascent of about 4000 m. The overnight stays are at guarded or self-managed refuges. Incredible views over the lake and valleys. Good training and fitness is required. Duration: 3-4 days Cost: 600 Euros per group Refuge Como Il Viale, Val Bregaglia, Switzerland A circular tour of the Val Bondasca taking you to the Sciora and Sasc Fourà Refuges, and below the peaks of Badile, Cengalo and the Scihours. A very scenic route. Duration: 7 hours Cost: 230 Euros per group S. Fourà Sciora Refuges Plan Vest, Val Bregaglia, Switzerland The walk involves an 800 m ascent and leaves from Soglio, a small Swiss village just a few km from the Castasegna customs post.
