1 Page 1 PROJECT FACTSHEET 06 THE CBC BLACK SEA PROJECT ALECT R Collaborative Networks of Multilevel Actors to advance Quality Standards for Heritage Tourism at Cross Border Level MIS ECT 2617 The ENPI CBC Project ALECTOR Collaborative Networks of Multilevel Actors to advance Quality Standards for Heritage Tourism at Cross Border Level, PRIORITY AXIS1: Supporting cross border partnerships for economic and social development based on combined resources and MEASURE 1.2 Creation of tourism networks in order to promote joint tourism development initiatives and traditional products funded by the ENPI CBC BLACK SEA JOP Project Events
2 HOST EVENT, CONSTANTA, ROMANIA On the 19th of November 2015, the seminar and the round table organized within Alector project, took place in Constanta, at the festive hall of the Museum of National History and Archeology from Constanta. The project team composed of Mrs Steliana Cojocariu and Mrs Iulia Dangulea, introduced to the participants the main aspects regarding the project philosophy, the partners, the main activities and results. The route of the pilot project of Romania, namely: The Trail of the Romania Ancient History at the Black Sea Coast was also presented, having as slogan 2000 years of history in 2 days, which includes 10 attractions related to the significant cultural heritage of Constanta, together with the main aspects related to the Heritage Registry Sheet for each attraction. During the round table the participants expressed their views regarding the implementation of the project in Constanta. Quali-questionnaires to identify needs and necessities of culture heritage interpretation were distributed and completed and non-statutory cooperation agreements were submitted to the participants. Page 2 SEMINAR AND PRESS TRIP TOUR, VARNA, BULGARIA UBBSLA was co-organizing organization of the VIIIth Tourist Forum in Varna on 5-7 November The initiative was carried out under the patronage of the Minister of tourism and the Mayor of Varna. The international scientific conference entitled: Tourism in the era of transformations celebrated the 50 th anniversary of Tourism Department of Varna Economic University. Among the esteemed guests was the ambassador of SAR as well as mayors of municipalities, the tourist branch, etc. Lecturers from V.M.Lomonosov Moscow State University, Matej Bel University in Banska Bistrica, Slovakia and the Economic University in Krakow shared knowledge on the trends in tourism development and cooperation between stakeholders within transition period of countries. Significant interest for the local tourist development was evoked by the tourist division of Bulgaria presented by experts from the Ministry of Tourism. The attention was also attracted by the presentation on the recently discovered Neolith
3 settlement near Varna which may be utilized as innovative asset for development and popularization of culture heritage of Varna and Varna Necropolis as attractive tourist product. Page 3 Parallel to the lectures an exhibition of tourist products and services was organized to present and advertise the tourist potential of Bulgaria. On 7 th of November 2015 part of the participants visited some of the culture historic monuments in Varna which are included in the pilot project developed within ALECTOR. The visitors learnt much more about the history of Varna from the Roman Empire to date under the expert guide of Mr. Christian Oblakov. SEMINAR AND ROUND TABLE, DONETSK, UKRAINE On 20 th 22 nd of May 2015 local seminar and a round table were organized in Malinkovka, Donetsk region. 20 participants representing universities, NGOs, volunteering organizations got information about the project, strategy development, heritage tourism, volunteership during the training. Interactive sessions and working at the buzz groups were organized which created many ideas for involvement of volunteers, especially youth at the active support of the NGOs and other institutions, which work at the sphere of heritage tourism. One of the valuable results of the training was the adaptation of the international experience at the local reality. Tour of cultural heritage was organized for the participants. Throughout this tour, they got acquainted with the historical monuments of culture and places of the territory. By the end of the training, the draft strategy was developed and ready for presentation for the community. During targeted press conference journalists, representatives of local authorities of Donetsk region, NGOs, volunteer organizations, total 23 participants were acquainted with the culture heritage pilot project of ALECTOR. Among the speakers were Svitlana Zakrevska president of DCO Alliance - Presentation of project, activities, plans for future; Ludmila Goncharova representative of Donetsk region administration Development of voluntarism in Donetsk region, attracting volunteers to the civic activities; Natalia Semyvolos - administrator of the project Presentation of the Strategy for voluntary sector at the heritage tourism ; Olena
4 Dolgopolova representative of University of Culture and Tourism - The current situation in the Donetsk region in terms of cultural heritage. The event was dedicated to presentation of the project, its results and activities planned. Also a draft of the Strategy for voluntary sector at the heritage tourism was presented at the press conference. Page 4 PROJECT INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE The Project International Conference will contribute to the attempt of ALECTOR to equally offer dislocated audiences the chance to create their personal placebonding with cultural assets. Thus the regions will be enabled to be presented independently of place and time, promoting the Project region at global level with exceptional cognitive-emotional heritage experiences. The Project s International Conference aims to communicate to multiple target publics the project achieved results, methodologies and planning strategies developed, local implemented pilot applications using the international experience in the heritage sector and more particular in the conservation, protection, management and communication of heritage. The Conference Caring and Sharing: The Heritage Environment as an Agent for Change will be organized on 31 ST May 2 nd June 2016 in Istanbul, Turkey and hosted by Governship of Istanbul as one of the three Turkish project partners. It intends to sample contributions from the international academic community and share across multiple target publics project results achieved, methodologies developed and planning strategies suggested, offering at the same time an international forum on issues regarding the sustainable place making and the dynamics of cultural values for regional and local development. In this way comprehension and support of local governments and related decision makers along with the awareness of the general public, will be raised and maintained. The call is for submissions of both theoretical and empirical research papers related to the following specific topics: 1. Standardization in tourism- a new approach based of R&D and ICT;
5 2. Local developments and international networking through heritage products and services; Climate change and the historic environment, natural and cultural heritage risks and hazards; 3. Smart specialization and financing of local tourism development based on heritage valuing assessments; 4. Teaching methods for novel professional profiles, future experts in heritage, tourism and hospitality industries, including cultural communication and the interpretation of heritage; 5. Anthropological cultural heritage, tangible and intangible heritage assets as a main identity pillars for socio-economic development and community cohesion; 6. Topics in natural heritage management, architectural conservation and protection of monuments and fabric. There is no participation fee for the Conference registration. Supplementary to this a study visit will be organized in Şile on the 2nd of June Page 5 CALL FOR EXPERTS ALECTOR project is looking for heritage experts to recruit the Black Sea Heritage Observatory, the project legacy upon its completion. Experts of any kind operating in the cultural heritage domain independently of sector and background are asked to recruit the Black Sea Heritage Observatory. Encouraged are also young expert with 3 years of proven experience in heritage management, communication, interpretation, culture and the arts or other.
