This form of active holidays is already very popular and fast expanding market on the European waterways (EuroVelo and EuroHiking short and long-distance hiking networks etc.)

12 Example of a suitable vessel type for a cruise ship for active sports LOHAS customers do not prefer classic packages, aimed at maximum comfort, they expect diverse, short term and interactive tourist services such as active movement during their trip (hop-on-hop-off cruise, hiking, biking, kayaking, greater opportunities for extending the stay in inlands and contact with local culture, gastronomy, etc.)

19 PROMOTION AND MARKETING ITB Enhancing visibility of tourism products of Danube countries at Berlin trade show maximizing the success for all partners. Joint efforts enhance knowledge about Danube region and strengthen the Danube brand within tourism industry worldwide.
20 Promotion on fairs Providing support to tourism stakeholders by organizing their presence on the prominent tourism fairs. Each destination have the opportunity to promote its tourism offer on DCC /Destination Danube stand.

25 Advocating for tourism development Political Advocacy GIZ and DCC organized three Danube Floating Conferences networking events onboard the Danube cruise ships. The events are aiming to create a better environment for sustainable tourism development in the region and improve cooperation between Danube countries in general. Danube Parliamentary Network The platform and driving force for co-operation, cross border dialogue and forum for discussion and exchange of opinions involving parliamentarian representatives along the Danube.

Identification of the business partners. 1. Identifying the supply chain and creating the stakeholders diagram. 2. Cohesion building among the stakeholders (for example: stakeholders meetings, conferences, building internal communication platforms, etc.). 3. Identification of the competitiveness bottlenecks. 4. Competitiveness programs (study tours, peer exchanges, etc.). 5. Soft infrastructure measures (interpretation, sign-posting, etc.). 1. Coalition building with identified business partners. 2. Packaging (together with business partners developing pilot packages and offering them on the market as an offer of the partner tour operators). 3. Developing and introducing new complementary events and programs (for example: ecofestival, wine exhibition, entertaining and educational programs for children, etc.). 4. Marketing and promotion.
