24 Lessons learned, immediately and long term activities Reconsidering of the measures integrated on the river basin level more room for rivers more retention areas (natural or small dams with reservoires on upstream part of river basin) anti-erosian works and measures river basin wide land use conditions and limits maintanance and reconstruction of the existing and construction of new flood protection structures second flood protection line and controlled flooding prioritization of measures, phases of implementation and reliably financing experts capacity building upgrading the intersectors, bilateral and regional cooperation promotion of public awarness and selfprotection measures
