2 INVITATION We are pleased to invite you to the XI International Symposium which will be held in Novi Sad, Serbia on 11 th and 12 th October The Symposium is organized by: Faculty of technical sciences, University of Novi Sad Faculty of Traffic and Transport Engineering, University of Belgrade Academy of Criminalistic and police studies, Zemun Serbian Road Safety Association and Traffic Safety Media BACKGROUND AND SCOPE Road safety is the concern of all us. Road safety improvement could be successfully achieved only if all interested stakeholders, organizations and individuals tackle the issue simultaneously wie maximum efforts. This Symposium is the 11 th in a series of road safety symposiums starting in 1990 and the main objective of the Symposium is to achieve more efficient road risk and road safety resources management. To achieve this target it is necessary to focus on the following: Detail analysis and evaluation of actual problems, trends, accident s etiology and phenomenology, experience, knowledge, emerging research and developments in road safety. According to the given knowledge and experience, development of the appropriate road safety strategy and accident prevention system. THEMES AND TOPICS Main themes and topics of the symposium are: 1. Road safety management 2. Safer road users 3. Safer roads and mobility 4. Safer vehicles 5. Post-crash response 2
