1 Norwegian Fjords June 2 nd to 10 th, nights, 9 days Summary Itinerary Sunday, June 2 nd Day 1 Depart Canada Depart from select Maritime cities (Charlottetown, Halifax, Moncton, or Fredericton) on your overnight flight to Oslo via Toronto and Munich. Try and get some sleep before your morning arrival in Oslo. A light meal and breakfast will be served on board the flight. Monday, June 3 rd Day 2 Oslo Hamar We arrive in Oslo and travel to Hamar, Norway. Stops will be made along the way for rest breaks along with photo opportunities as we pass the Norwegian countryside. Arrive at our host hotel in Hamar this evening. After checking in enjoy an included dinner at the hotel. Overnight: Scandic Ringsaker (or similar) (B, D) Tuesday, June 4 th Day 3 Hamar Geiranger Enjoy a complimentary breakfast at the hotel. Today another scenic drive awaits us as we make our way to Geiranger. We will make a short stop at the wooden stave church in Lom. Arrive at our host hotel overlooking the amazing Geiranger Fjord this evening. After checking in enjoy an included dinner at the hotel. 2 Wednesday, June 5 th Day 4 Geiranger Balestrand morning we will cruise the UNESCO World Heritage Site Geiranger Fjord which is renowned for its impressive waterfalls and beautiful scenery. After the cruise we will continue to Briksdal Glacier where we will explore by motorized open troll-cars which allow for superb panoramic views. We will finish the day in the remarkable Sognefjord area where we will check in to our hotel overlooking the deep Nærøyfjord. Enjoy an included dinner at the hotel this evening. Overnight: Sognefjord Hotel (or similar) (B, D) Thursday, June 6 th Day 5 Balestrand Flåm Bergen morning we will take a ferry crossing from Hella to Vangsnes. We then drive to Gudvangen where we will experience a 2-hour mini cruise through the beautiful Sognefjord. This is Norway s longest and deepest fjord that connects with the Nærøyfjord, an area with towering snow-clad mountains, hanging valleys and cascading waterfalls. The cruise finishes in Flåm where the journey continues along one of the most exceptional railways in the world, the Flåmsbana. With breathtaking views at every curve this train will take you up to the mountain station in Myrdal to catch the connecting train to Voss. The last leg of today s journey will be completed by coach to Bergen where we will arrive in the early evening. 3 Friday, June 7 th Day 6 Bergen morning we will begin with a 2-hour tour of Bergen. Stroll across Bryggen where traditional wooden medieval buildings from the Hanseatic League still remain and stop at the famous open-air fish market. We will also visit the famous composer Edvard Grieg s home, at Trollhaugen. This afternoon enjoy free time to explore Bergen on your own. This evening we will take the Fløi Mountain Funicular through the Fløi Mountain up to our dinner at Fløien Folkerestaurant, overlooking Bergen city and the surrounding fjords. Following dinner we will walk back to the hotel. Overnight: Radisson Collection Royal Hotel (or similar) (B, D) Saturday, June 8 th Day 7 Geilo Enjoy a complimentary breakfast at the hotel. Today our journey continues southwards toward the remarkable Hardangerfjord with its romantic landscape of fruit orchards and dome shaped mountains. We will also make a photo stop at the impressive Vøringsvoss Waterfall. This evening we will arrive at our hotel and check in. Enjoy an included dinner at the hotel. Overnight: Dr. Holms Hotel (or similar) (B, D) Sunday, June 9 th Day 8 Geilo Oslo morning we will travel to Oslo. On arrival in Oslo we will be met by a Local Guide for a panoramic tour of the city. During the tour we will walk through the Frogner Park, visit the Karl Johan Shopping Street, see the Akerhus Castle, Scandinavia s St. Tropez and the Akershus Brygge connected to the fashionable area of Tjuvholmen. This afternoon we will check in to our centrally located hotel. The remainder of the evening is at your leisure. Overnight: Clarion Hotel the Hub (or similar) (B) Norwegian Fjords 3

4 Monday, June 10 th Day 9 Oslo Maritimes Today we bid farewell to Norway and depart on our transatlantic flight for Toronto. Once we clear customs in Toronto we will find our departure gates for our return flights to select Maritime cities (Charlottetown, Halifax, Moncton, or Fredericton). This can include grass or cobblestone as well as hills. If you rely on the assistance of a walker or cane you may find this tour challenging as you must be able to keep pace with the group. Tour Director and Driver Your Tour Director and Driver play an important role in making your vacation as memorable and hassle-free as possible. While optional, gratuities are a great way to show your appreciation. The suggested industry guideline is $3.00 to $6.00 per person, per day for your Tour Director and also your Driver.
