10 Supply Arrangements (SA) Two contracts were awarded, one for the seaway and one for a ferry in Quebec City in January The SA remains in effect for next season. A new bidding process will be published shortly to update the list of suppliers and vessels. 10
11 New Icebreakers - Project Update 1. Project Mandate Three commercial vessels have been procured and will provide interim relief for the Canadian Coast Guard s aging fleet. Specifically, these vessels will provide mostly Medium Icebreaker (MIB) capacity over a period of years, while other existing CCG vessels undergo Vessel Life Extensions 11
12 New Icebreakers - Project Update Primary Mission Primary mission is to deliver CCG Icebreaking program in the South for the Winter Season (December to late April) and for the Arctic season, North of 60 N ( late June to early November). Secondary Missions a. Search and Rescue b. Responding to Emergency Situations and Natural Disasters c. Supporting Law Enforcement d. Environmental Response e. Aids to Navigation f. Emergency Towing Capability g. Supporting Fisheries and Aquaculture Management 12
