Gasoline under air pressure from the pump (1) goes to the fuel line (2) which is above a combustion area, where it becomes vaporous under the influence of high temperature, and passes to vapor box. Gasoline vapors coming out from the primer (4) with high speed, capture the required amount of air, mix with it, and go to the tank. Received air-fuel mixture burns down passing through the burner mechanisms.

3 2 Intended Purpose Use 2.1 Safety instructions WARNING: PRIMUS FUEL GASOLINE - IS AN EASILY FLAMABLLE VAPOROUS LIQUID! Primus is an appliance with open fire area. In this connection, it is strictly forbidden: - TO TURN THE PUMP SCREW, TO FILL OUT THE GASOLINE, TO RAPAIR, TO CLEAN THE PRIMER WHEN THE APPLIANCE IS IN OPERATION OR IS STILL HOT AND IT IS CLOSE TO OPEN FLAME SOURCES; - TO FILL THE CYLYNDER WITH GASOLINE AT MORE THAN 0.3 L. LEVEL; - TO POUR THE FUEL, THAT IS USED FOR THE BURNER STURT-UP HEATING, OVER THE IGNITOR TANK (7) EDGE. - TO USE MIXTURE OF FUELS, GASOLINE WITH LUBRICANTS; - TO SET PRIMUS IN OPERATION WHEN THE GAS OR ITS VAPORS ARE LEAKING TROUGH THRED OR SOLDERED JOINTS; - TO USE PRIMUS IN AREAS WITHOUT NATURALVENTILATION, BASEMENTS AND SEMI-BASEMENTS; - TO LEAVE OPERATING PRIMUS UNATTENDED; - TO PLACE PRIMUS ON A COMBUSTIBLE GROUND, NEAR FLAMMABLE OBJECTS LOCATED CLOSER THAN 1 M; - TO KEEP GAS OR ANOTHER HIGHLY INFLAMMABLE FLUID SUPPLIES IN CLOSE PROXIMITY TO OPERATING PRIMUS When lighting gas outside the burner, the primus should be turned off in accordance with paragraph , the lid of the case (8) should be closed and the primus covered with wet cloth After using the appliance the pressure in the cylinder (6) should be relieved, the pump screw - turned off When not used for a long time, gas should be poured out of the cylinder It is recommended to use the appliance for cooking and boiling water in pans with capacity no more than 3 L.

4 2.2 Primus Stove Preparation for Operation Before setting the appliance in operation the depreservation should be performed by means of rinsing out the appliance with gas at the rate of gr. Wash and empty the appliance out Locate the primus on a flat surface and turn the pump screw off. Pour gas into the cylinder through the opening for the pump, using the funnel. Afterwards, turn the pump screw tight Cleaning the primer (4) with the needle holder (19) is recommended (see Fig. A1) Inflate air in with the pump, making vigorous movements. Open the case lid and make sure that fuel system is hermetic: there is no fuel leaking from the gasketing pad (13) or the screw (14) Fill up the jet with gas for the vaporizer prestart heating Remove fuel supplies from the primus at safe distance. WARNING: IT IS STRICTLY FORBIDDEN TO LIGTH THE PRIMUS IF THE PUMP ROD IS PULLED OUT! 2.3. Operational procedure Preoperational warming and primus starting Fill up the jet with gas and light the primus. It is recommended to use a little amount of gas or a fuel tablet in the burner cup (18) to shorten the ignition time during cold seasons After fuel has burned out in the jet (7) bring open fire source to the burner. Herewith, turning the adjusting key (10) in anti-clockwise direction, open fuel feed channel and light it Light-blue flame appears on the burner top in case the vaporizer is sufficiently warmed up In case of insufficient vaporizer warming or excessive fuel feed above the burner appears yellow flame that produces soot. In this case, it is necessary to turn the adjusting key in a clockwise direction, stop fuel supply and repeat warming and starting procedures.

5 2.3.2 Heat output control Primus heat output control is performed by turning the adjusting key (in anticlockwise direction to ensure an increase, in a clockwise direction- to reduce it) and pump inflation. Turn the adjusting key smoothly to the required burning intensity Visual control of heat output is possible by monitoring a color of incandescence washers that can be various from dark cherry to light red. Orange (straw yellow) color of incandescence washers indicates heat overload on the burner Operation completion Switch the primus off by turning the adjusting key in a clockwise direction firmly with little pressure After cooling, the pressure in the cylinder should be relieved by unscrewing the pump (1). 3.1 General instructions 3 Maintenance and Storage The primus should be kept clean. It must be cleaned from soot, dirt and etc. after every use Preparing the primus for storage for a long period it is necessary to apply any grease lubricant, vegetable oil or animal fat, to the pump cup and the pump rod. Unscrew the pump screwed cap and take the pump rod out to perform this After hours of primus running time (if the burning intensity is reduced or the adjusting key is hard to turn) it is necessary to clean primus spares and inner spaces of vaporizer from soot and snuff. If run on gasoline that undergone long storage, cleaning may be required earlier Common faults and Trouble Shooting Common faults are given in the Table 3.
