If you would like to camp with a group, please make sure you come together for the best chance to be parked together. Camping is $28/night or if you bring your antique tractor to display, the rate will be $10/night (this cost will be increased to $15 for the Fall Tractor Show). Flea market spots (inside and outside) are $35 for the entire weekend. This year s Featured Tractor is Oliver. Therefore, we should see a substantial collection of Oliver tractors in our tractor line along with many other brands of yesterday. The Poor Farmer s Tractor & Engine Show is almost as old as the campground itself. The first Tractor Show was in 1974 just 5 years after Poor Farmer s opened it s doors for business. If there is one thing that you can find all over these lands, it s history. I would like to thank the Search-And- Rescue dog handlers for volunteering to help us park cars this year as well as our Activity Committee for helping in previous years. All it takes is a $1 donation per person to gain entrance into this event. We will have treasures from all over, delicious food and drinks, tractors and engines on display and of course, some of the best camping in the state of Ohio. LET S GO CAMPIN!!!!! This year we will be spacing out the campers differently than in the past due to the increased pull on the electrical system caused by larger units with multiple A/C s, residential refrigerators, and other appliances that are now a part of the camping experience. We will be offering primitive spots that have no access to electric. The cost for primitive spots is $20/night and we hope will provide another option for those who come later when camping spots are full or for those who wish to save on the regular camping rate. Please remember that there is a $5/night charge for leaving your camper without camping in it.

2 The Memorial Day Golf Cart Challenge proved to be the most exciting event of the weekend. Of course, the biggest showdown was the grudge match between Troy Sherer with Odd Power s Racing and Steve Springer, the reigning King of the Campground. The Spring event is a great opportunity to test and tune your buggy for the big show in August. It was also a test to see how fast we could get the track cleaned up before the rain came in. The drag race is not broken down in any class, so it gives the drivers a chance to race a cart that would otherwise be in a different class in the Rodeo. We hope that everyone had a great time and figured out just what their cart needs for the Rodeo. Let s Go Racin! The Monthly Chatter Page 2 of 6

You have a beautiful array of decorations and flowers that set your campsite ahead of the rest. Thank you for keeping such a wonderful campsite Mark. We are thankful to have you as part of our campground and to show our appreciation we are giving you free dumps for the month of June. Reduce Your Electric Costs and save your air conditioner with this easy tip. Your RV gives you all the comforts of home and for some, they want their coach to be the size of their home as well. These larger RVs take extra power and additional air conditioning units to cool them down. There are a number of steps that you can take to make sure your creature comforts continue without increased costs or damage. Keep you re A/C clean. Most of you know about the foam filter in your ceiling unit that catches all the dust from inside the coach, but how many of you have been up top to clean the fins on the roof? This step is incredibly important, especially at Poor Farmer s where recently the cottonwood trees have been providing us with a lovely white blanket of seeds. Those little white seeds that are floating all over town will most certainly find their way to you re A/C intake on top of your roof, causing the fan to work even harder to pull air through which, in turn, will cause reduced air flow. That reduced air flow will keep you re A/C running longer and not cool as efficiently as it should. To fix this problem, journey up to your roof, if you are able, remove your shroud and take a brush to the A/C fins. If you are not able to get up to the roof, call Marty at the Poor Farmer s Service Department to schedule it done. This process shouldn t take long so the cost will be well worth it.

4 Memphis Report ATTACK OF THE S MORES!!!!!!!! As you can clearly see, ole Memphis Miles enjoyed his evening at the Chili Cook-Off and S mores bar. He looked me in the eye as if to say I am far from done with these delightful treats and would like another. So, the cool Uncle Mike gave him another. As he finished that one, he gazed again, with the hopes that maybe Uncle Mike is the raddest, baddest guy in the whole world. It turns out Uncle Mike is the raddest, baddest guy around, because he got s more. All-in-all, this young little boy who is just barely 10 months old ate his weight in chocolate, graham cracker and marshmallow. We are now planning a trip for 2035 to Coney Island for the Annual Hot Dog Eating Competition. As for now, we will just keep practicing with s mores. The Monthly Chatter Page 4 of 6 Chili Cook-Off Winner Alice Everett The Chili Cook-Off has become a staple on the Poor Farmer s Activity Schedule since Every year we get to taste a wide variety of chili recipes which all contain one similar ingredient the quest for victory! This year, Alice Everette didn t hold back with her best ingredients. The proof was in the puddin when she impressed the five chili experts that were judging the competition. Thank you all for being part of the contest. Every bowl of chili was delicious, but there can only be one winner and she s going to the Texas Roadhouse for a steak. Mel s Mowing Can t make it to Poor Farmer s to mow your lot during the week. Visit the Parts Store to get your name and number to Mel Fox, Poor Farmer s resident campsite maintenance professional. Turn in your name, phone number and campsite to get an estimate from Mel for mowing and weed eating your campsite.

It all started with a chili dinner made by yours truly with the help of some dedicated Activity Committee members. BTW, I am chillied-out for the year. After the chili, a world class fireworks demonstration was conducted by Mike Elsner, Tony Gustin and our friends at Rozzi s Fireworks. Our thanks to Scarlett for singing a wonderful rendition of our National Anthem. Saturday morning we hosted a pancake breakfast that was flippin crazy, then that evening after a delicious chicken dinner we were entertained by Tommy Knox and Overdrive. We capped the weekend with donuts and a perfect-as-usual Church in the Big Red Barn with Kathy Love. Thank you all for coming and being a part of this monumental event that marks the hard work of the Springer family over the past 50 years. I hope that we can leave as great of a legacy as Carl and Steve have, so our kids can enjoy this place for another 50 years. We re on the Web! See us at: Guess the Year Go Bucks!!
